finally have time to try out Rome. Have to say i am liking this car more and more. Easy to say that when no one is wrecking in front of you at the chicane. I was wondering what are some of the lap times?

I ran about 50 laps tonight around Rome. Felt much stronger. Thought I'd share my findings...

My fast lap was 1:13.335
At an avg lap of 1:14.x, I can do about 8 laps every 10 minutes.
My tire degradation was rapid - front left first to go. At the end of a 10 minute run, I'd be down to about a 4 on that tire. My fuel consumption was ravenous too. I'm guessing a minimum of 2 stops.

Is that fast lap competitive?

So I cant speak for everyone else however I was running low 1:12's with full fuel load and low 1:11's with light fuel load. Could shave a bit more time with some practice however that was with a clear track also. Fuel and the left front tire will be key. Just a heads up that I do brake early for turn 4 (90deg right hander) as the transition from brick to pavement is brutal if you brake late there.

Me: I managed to squeak in a 1:12.604 (front tires at 8, 1/2 fuel) but was averaging low 1:13's.

The below listed drivers (not listed in BOLD below) need to confirm their intent to race at Circuito di Roma by replying in this topic (no later than 8:00pm eastern on Race Day) with a simple post that they plan to race this week (Example - I plan to race this week). I will update the list accordingly.

Yup I was getting to high 11s with a good amount of fuel on board... Trying to push for in the 10s... Hoping for a one stop race

Knock-Out Qualifying Club Lobby is now open

Seven positions are up for grabs in tonight's Knock-Out Qualifying session. Top 7 lap times from tonight's Knock-Out qualifying will advance to the Main Event. Top 10 confirmed drivers, please do not enter the lobby until KOQ is complete at around 8:45 eastern. I will update the thread and lobby title once we are finished with qualifying.

Yea I'm glad I left when I did. If I was still there and you didn't start yet I would be raging.
 
With alot of patience we did end up getting the races in, and there was some pretty good racing. This track was quite fun with those cars imo.

And what?? Start taking people out or something!! or yelling at a Mic. that no one can hear?? lol :lol: It worked out!! Ice ran the room and had no issues.. You missed some good racing!! Need to get that temper under control!! lol In through the nose... Out through the mouth!!! 👍

First, Many thanks to everyone who stuck it out. First time in the history of the series it was that bad. Usually its just 1 or two guys but it was just so random. I will be looking at ways to better handle this situation going forward. That said, my back is glad its over.

No temper. I just had other things I could use the time with instead of racing. I knew it could be clean but I didn't wanna take any chances this week and ruin my or anyone else's races. I've been feeling under the weather and I'm sure I'd make some mistakes from being so exhausted. Here's to next week being great. I love the track and it's got a great rhythm with this car.
 
Great racing tonight guys. Were a few moments but it's expected on such a tight track. Overall went very well. Congrats on the 2nd race win, @GGGMotorsport, as well. Good strategy. @SGETI , very good fight as well, you almost had me in the last turn there. I had to go back to replay and see how you didn't get me... Great racing in 1st race as well @ParkerMO125
 
Were you able to make it a one-stopper and make up lots of positions?
 
While @DCschwinn got banished to the pits for race 1, he was watching lap data and got this shot of me and @vsfit.
We are team mates this month and do practice together alot, so you'd think our times would be a bit closer :D
