◆ SNAIL [Race Car] Series - Finished - Thanks to everyone who raced during the past 12 seasons!

Based on the success of the Wed Night Race Car Series, we are happy to announce the creation of the newest SNAIL Sanctioned Event

The SNAIL [Touring Car] Series (TCS) will compete on Tuesdays @ 9:00pm eastern and will feature the following.

Will use Wed Night as the base for this series with the following changes
  • Tuesday Nights
  • Touring Cars Only
  • Three 25 min races using a slightly modified BTCC format
    • Race 1 - Grid set based on 6 min qualifying session
    • Race 2 - Grid set based on results from race 1 (winner gets pole position)
    • Race 3 - Grid set based on inverted grid based on results from race 2
  • 5 min break between races
  • Fuel/Tire Ware set depending on Touring Car used
  • Tire Restrictions - Must use RH and RS
    • Must change Tire Compounds during race (no minimum laps)
    • Must make at least 1 pit stop requirement
    • Must start a least 1 race on both compounds (Example: Race 1-RH, Race 2-RS, Race 3-RS)
  • Will use the same schedule (4 weeks however no all star race)
  • Highest finisher in points each night that is not in the top 10 on Wed Night will get a locked in spot for Wed Night race (must be an active driver in the RCS and will not need to go through KOQ on Wed Night)
  • Season Champion gets to select 1 of the 4 tracks to be used in the next season (based on track list provided).
The following will not carry over to the SNAIL [Touring Car] Series (TCS)​
  • No season ending All Star Race
  • No Team Championship
We feel the above format for the SNAIL [Touring Car] Series will offer different challenges/rewards yet still have some of the similarities of the Wed RCS. Here are some key dates for the SNAIL [Touring Car] Series (TCS)
  • 12/21/14 - Series Announced
  • 12/21/14 - Accepting applications from Current RCS Active Drivers
  • 12/28/14 - Accepting applications from all other SNAIL Drivers
  • 1/3/15 - Accepting applications for all interested drivers
  • 1/5/15 - Mock 25min practice races at Tine Ring Motegi Est
  • 1/6/15 - Inaugural Races of Season 1
Finally, I would like to thank @brntguy @Zii1993 @Wardenclyffe (Co-Directors) in helping with putting this together. We are confident that this will be a great series that will complement the RCS.

Hey the Tuesday night series look great, wish I could join but can't due to schedule.

Made me think though, has it ever been considered using 2 tire types for Wednesday series? Would make the strategies even more interesting
 
Damn only one track I voted in made it. What a bummer.

Yes but since we are doing that now on Tuesday, we want to keep them different between the two

But really would like to get the ball rolling before I miss out! So @aerolite I'd just as much like to create a team with you instead should you reply first with wanting to?

Sorry, but aerolite already responded and together we are AP Motorsports!

But you should indeed seek and create a team with someone else, would be cool to have as many teams as possible!

I'm still not getting the name "DoubleMOAero Racing. Licensed to win." Thought maybe because it was a Sunday morning my brain wasn't working but now it's Mon am and still not any wiser, :boggled::dunce::D Maybe something related to Bond or just something between you and Parker!
FYI, when bringing up results page and going to month overview it is not showing properly?

Lol a while back, someone in SNAIL said I looked like a James Bond (or a James bond villain can't remember), and at one point everyone wanted to put GTP names with the real names and I replied "Cornelius, Parker Cornelius". :p

Yeah, it's a play on Bond, James Bond. Because the first time I saw a picture of Cornelius, Parker Cornelius, I thought he was a shoo in for a secret agent type. Which is also why I'm always trying to wear him out about his "cover" as a GTAcademy finalist. Vee know who yoo arr and vee vill mahk yoo talk!

He thinks his light laughing it off here and there and generally ignoring remarks of this nature will allow this suspicion to die. Just like that above post there ^. Vee know beter.



In all seriousness, it's your team name and you're both capable of picking what you want and like. I just seem to like to tease Parker there about his secret agent looks.

Yes, that jogged my memory, I do recall the post on a certain resemblance, was probably DW who started that as well :D

The Touring Car Series sounds like fun, but I can't do anymore than two nights of racing a week. Not quite ready to give up Sunday nights just yet!

@GGGMotorsport I completely spaced that the all star race is on new years eve. We won't be home, won't make the race.
 
To all of those racers not involved with the All-Star Race, would you like to race tomorrow night anyway? Maybe a test race for next season or a re-do of Tial Mountain with the Lexus because I never got to race that?
 
I think the maintenance period starts @ 9:30pm. I could be wrong though
