For those of us .......... from "The Old Generation" that just race on a PS3 ......... how does have a course creator on a tablet or PC help us in GT-6?

If the answer is a lot of mumbo jumbo about saving here, copying there, inserting a computer thing-a-majig into the PS3, copying "it" to the Game Data thingy and restarting the PS3 for a clean lift-off of GT-6 and a new track .......... I'll wait for the sequels.

Of course, by that time the power cord to my Sweetwater Cemetery Plot will have been cut by the lawnmower and I'll be left in the dark and not able to get online any longer.
well, I mean, I don't know that it will help with anything other than gaming longevity. As for ease of use. For an old timer, the PC will probably be best, since I am guessing you are more familiar with a mouse than touch screen.
Now, for the creator itself, its rather easy to use. If you get it. I'll let you play with it and see. Easier than explaining. Uploading and subsequently downloading the tracks seems easy. I've created one already. Once you are finished with the track, you simply click the transfer button, you will be asked to log into your PSN account. It does the rest. Downloading the track is done in the community section of the game. No need to juggle USB gig sticks or any of that.

BTW, for anyone looking, here is the APK for Android phones and tablets.

Thanks, Rally ......... all was going along so very well. It made so much "earthly sense" - but then you just had to revert to the Margaritifer Terra language at the last.

Tex, it may sound complicated, but it's not, really. Just create the track on the tablet, click "Transfer" and it's in your GT6. Go to the Track Editor and it's there for your enjoyment.

I remade Jacarepaguá (old F1 track that was here in Rio) and although the kerbs all suck, the track looks good and I'm super duper excited for all the other ones I'm going to make...

Old and/or obscure tracks that no one cares about, here I come!

If it does this is the first I've heard of it
Um, pretty sure it was supported at release...I say this because it was the only thing I knew was supported...when you mentioned Nissan my thought was "Oh, are they adding more vehicles/devices?"

To be fair, I am sure that they hoped/planned for this to get rolled out and/or supported by more manufacturers in the future. It is a very innovative feature, and has potential to grow. I think this feature has more to do with the long term goals and direction of the GT product than short term gain.

Here's an article from April 2014 about the Toyota one...

Thank you, but Sergeant Schultz in Hogan's Hero's made more sense ........ to those of us that were assigned to go outside and "dust the erasers" (bang the chalk board erasers against a wall until the white dust was mostly gone).
Getting to do that was a real treat at the end of the day in Elementary School ......... back in the 40's.

Yeah, I believe only one Nismo car has the Nismo data logger, the new GTR, that was on release day. I didn't know that Toyota was in there too. So, great, two cars. Cool.

@ConnorWolf if you have a smartphone, follow the link I posted above.

Well, I got the track path editor installed on bluestacks but I can't run it because it says my hardware isn't compatible.

Yaaaay.
This was my experience as well Connor,I have an APU (LLANOS) and I get the same error.:grumpy:

Tex,

Lets take this step by step.

1. Are you wanting to create tracks or to use other peoples tracks?

2. If you want to create tracks do you have an iPad or an Android tablet?

I've been playing with the track creator. So much for creating short ovals. The shortest I can come up with is .94 miles. I can do some interesting things with that but it means I can't make Bristol or any other short tracks. I can make all kinds of tri-ovals in the 1 1/4 mile to 2 mile range.

Actually, I was just following the "other-world" conversation. Haven't turned on the PS3 yet today - so, have no idea what is there when I arrive.

So, at this point in time, I was just observing and wondering. Once I see "it" - I'll probably see what happens when I do this, or when I do that ......... you know, the old OJT approach. In GT-5 I tried making a track, or two, and none of them were worth the time and/or effort. So, I'll probably just take a look-see and then get back to GT-1 practice for tonight.

Thanks for asking, though.
(PS - No, I don't have a pad or tablet. A desktop in the basement office - and the PS3 upstairs is the extent of my "stuff")

Well, the blue stack workaround Is certainly working for me, but not quite as easy to use as the app on the iPad. I'm working on a kart track now.

Same here as well. Have you guys figured out how to zoom in and out? (aka pinch zoom on tablets)

No, that's what I've been struggling with. I've got zoom in and out mapped, but it doesn't seem to work fluidly.

It is with caution that I say.... have you tried Cntrl + roll the mouse wheel

Tried them all... ALT CTRL SHIFT right mouse, left mouse mouse wheel... even the mouses ball$

mapped???? do tell!

Is there a "track creator for dummies" thread? How do you use the track creator to make a map on an existing track. I have the app downloaded on my PC and phone (via bluestacks and the apk downloads). But that's about as far as I've made it. Thanks for any help.

You can map "swipe up/down/left/right" etc. in the settings section. I have to hold the button I mapped for zoom in to get it to work and it always seems to change to curbing mode, but that's not a big deal. Ipad is much easier overall.

From what I've read, on Eifel flat layout, you can load images as an overlay, and trace your track out overtop of it. I might give it a try tonight.

I'm still working on the same track. This is a lot of work! Back and forth, fix this, fix that... Exhausting!

GT1 championship room open if any wants to come out for some good old racing around le sarthe!

Would of made alot more sense if they made the track creator to be just for in game, not this Ios or iphone nonsense.

Mod nation racers did it 5 years ago!
