D1 Data for June 30 is also in the books

SNAIL Time Trials Round 11 is official

June Standings have been updated. They wont be official until all pending IR's are scored. Once that is done I will update it again as well as the 2019 Total Points

I will advertise Survivor Series here again. Registration deadline is this Friday @ 11:59PM EST. We currently have 27 people signed up that all want to be crowned Champion. Tentative date as of right now is Friday July 19th 9:00PM EST. Head to the thread and post if you are interested and vote at the top of the page for which date(s) you are available.

Official practice night is on the 4th. Are we going to reschedule it? How is this type of thing handled usually?

Were still racing that Sunday so practice is still on for Thursday. Expecting a low turnout though for obvious reasons.

July 2019 Season
  • League Night #1 - July 7
  • League Night #2 - July 14
  • League Night #3 - July 21
  • League Night #4 - July 28
I'm sure there will be plenty of "unofficial" lobbies open throughout the week.

What’s the deal with all these adds popping up. I might be wrong, but I don’t remember seeing them before
One of the reasons I just went premium for $1 a month or whatever it is. Ads burn up the battery on any device. Waste of processing power. But I get why they are there, pay the bills if everyone is free.

Your girlfriend/wife would get bored but we’re all ears! Sweet mother of pearl, at what are we looking?

I had the same thought - though not as eloquent.

Sorryfor late response. I didn’t see the tag Rob.

I think I will have to do a walk around video someday. That might be kinda fun. Basically just added the seat mover, passive belt tension system and wheel rack. Also I haven’t posted, but I’ve got a temporary left/right buttkickers installed using an old Onkyo home theater receiver/amp. It’s not optimal but it’s pretty cool for the time being.

Walk around would be cool. I want to see the seat mover in action! Great rig.

I was wondering what the strut looking things were. Be interesting to hear what you think of them. You can read in my signature what equipment I use. I’m interested to get a direct drive in order to use the oval wheel. I mostly like driving street cars up to GT3. What comments do you have?

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 3 - HONDA NSX 2017 (RH) at Alsace - Village - 17:15 Fine Weather (5 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @stelephant wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - DODGE VIPER GR.4 (SS) at Dragon Trail - Seaside - 08:00 Fine Weather (6 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @basswerks1 gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @Nicktune so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to choose the Integra Type R as your car selection, post "Honda Integra Type R (DC2) '98". If you want to select Monza for your track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". Being specific helps us to update the lineup accurately and also helps avoid any confusion among the drivers. Also, please be sure to list the HP and Weight (LBS) of any car you select. For track selections, include the time of day (e.g: 09:00 Clear) or else it will be left to default.

Toosday Trivia:

Jaguar XJS
What you're looking at in the pictures below is the redesigned DB7 that saved Aston Martin after Ford purchased the brand. However, there's quite a story in how it came to be. Jaguar was trying to get a car codenamed XJ41 to the point of production before they took one look at the bloated budget and killed it outright. The legendary race car driver, team owner, and a man heavily involved with Jaguar, Tom Walkinshaw, saw disaster was coming and dug into his own pocket to commission Ian Callum to adapt the XJ41 body onto the XJS chassis, then pitched the design back to Jaguar. It was a quick and incredibly cost-effective solution that Jaguar promptly rejected.

By now, Jaguar and Aston Martin were owned by Ford, and Ford had little interest in Jaguar based on its history of lacking profits. So, Walkinshaw took Callum’s XJS-based coupe to Aston Martin without mentioning it to Jaguar and told Aston that was the car that would save them. It did, and it was a work of genius with Callum raiding every Ford owned parts bin he could and using things like the rear lights from a Mazda 323 and indicators from the MX-5. When he couldn't find cool enough door mirrors, the got them from Citroen's CX-5 because they were cheap.

Prize A:

Renault Sport Clio V6 24v ‘00
MR - 229 HP - 2943 lbs - N200 - SH tires

Sardegna - Road Track A - 13:10 Clear - lap time ~2:13

Going with that new-new here

Hopefully everyone enjoys this better than my last suggestion. I wanted to run the NSX again, but was sadly informed that it had to be a new car and track.
