Here's my contribution to the car show:

On June 22, 1978, astronomer James Christy identified Charon, the largest moon of Pluto. My choice of location is The Wave, about 200 km north of the observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona where the discovery was made. While the moon is named after the mythological ferryman of the dead, it also echoes Christy’s wife, Charlene, nicknamed “Char”. It’s presence helped support Pluto’s reclassification as a dwarf planet in 2006.

It’s back…….”Cocktails n Combos”
Tee and I will be running Saturday night “cocktails n combos” Saturday evenings, featuring our favourite cocktails and running Sunday night combos!
Tonight’s Cocktail for us will be Dubs favourite craft beer from a local brewery in Saskatchewan.

This local beer is a terrific ale for a Hazy Saturday afternoon. “CAUTION* American friends this beer has much less water and more alcohol than your used too, enjoy with extreme caution* ⚠️
🤣🤣🤣

This is great news. I always enjoyed your cocktails and combos session. I should be around to hop on a bit. Got an estimated time?

I will be joined by my favorite local IPA Sinister Minister which weights in at 7% alc./vol. (Not quite the hefty 8.2% @DublDee will be pounding)

I think you and I would get along quite well @DublDee

Actually, I might walk to the brewery right now with my dogs….

I agree, I think we might need to plan a trip East next summer in the Jeep. There’s a few vineyards/wineries we have on our target out your way!

I'm sorry I had to leave after the third race last night, but my sciatica was killing me.

Edit: It's still killing me!

I hate this time of year in florida - thunder and lightening almost every night - had multiple bad storms go through and the power kept flickering enough to shut down wifi and PS - I may have to get a ups for wifi and ine for ps and tv

I ended up putting two in the living room. One for the TV and PS5, then one for the modem, phone, and router. Everything continues running, so long as the power isn't out long enough to drain the batteries.

I been considering it - What size UPS are you using for the Tv and PS? The smaller ones are reasonably priced but the 1500 plus go for around $600

$600?? I'm running an older 1000VA/600W for the TV and PS5 which would hold me well over a few minutes under load. You can get those for about $180, and even cheaper sometimes on sale.

They do have a 1000w version if you want more power for over $200.

JUNE 2025 STANDINGS - WEEK #3
1750729214795.png

D1 had a few heavyweights missing this week so that meant a smaller grid of 7 drivers and potentially additional podium spots up for grabs for the mortals in D1. Nice to see D2 bounce back with 10 drivers.

I was feeling dialed in for a few laps running in 2nd but got caught looking in my rearview mirror halfway through C1R1 and lost focus entering the esses. Broke some pylons and sent some advertisement boards flying and can only watch as @Oshawa-Joe, @Kgffy and @superb3113 went flying by.

@Dragonwhisky leading most of the grid at Road Atlanta. Some nice clean door-to-door action between @superb3113 and @DRD_Niagara. I feel like I spent most of the evening either chasing, or being chased by @superb3113.

Early in C2R1, it's @Kgffy showing us the way through the bus-stop in our C5's. I really enjoyed this car and if my math is correct, @Worst_Driver and @bublyman's wish that we do not vote out this car was granted.

I think this was in C2R2, @superb3113 just touched grass entering T1 and struggled to get it back and went very deep. He was burning up his tires getting back on the track just ahead of @Dragonwhisky.

Voting for Combo 3 was a no brainer for me as I tend to struggle with these cars. @Oshawa-Joe is being pressured by @Kgffy in the pic below. Seeing @Kgffy's livery made me recall that we used this car not too long ago.

So into my archives I went to pull this pictures I posted back last September....

I accomplished a few things last night:
  • Managed to snag a few podiums due to some notable absentees.
  • Re-earned by Full-Time Drivers card after being considered a part-timer for the last few months. (not sure why this bothered me like it did - LOL)
  • Raced in my 300th Snail race. A small decal on my C5 commemorates the occasion. My checkered flag drought is now at about 290 races or so but who cares. Still enjoying the racing and looking forward to the next 300.

See you at the Car-Show.
