That's great Gutter and CB, it'll be good to have you guys back. Hopefully GR8 will be fusing his back soon and can rejoin the fun....your spot is still there when you're ready.

We'll hopefully see some action tonight.....maybe even practice for Monday with an oval thrown in just for squats and giggle. All welcome, I'll open up around 7:30 est.

@GUTTERBOY3007 the track surface is quite rough actually, really chews the tires up. The fast line around here requires you to find the ‘helpful’ bumps and dodge the ones that aren’t. Getting wicked oversteer at the bottom of 6 where the asphalt is cracked along the track.

But from the top of turn 2 to the brake zone downhill into 4 I’m flat over the brow in 3, and from one hairpin to the next I’m flat out. (7 to 11) definitely a rhythm track in the back! Keep it pinned and turn as little as possible!

And now we pause for some good news. Maestro, drumroll please....(((((((((DRUMROLL))))))).....
......I'm officially on vacation. No work for a month....WOOT WOOT!!!!....

Summahtime summahtime!
Guess that either means we're in trouble because you'll.br practicing all day long, or it will be on easy month for us because you'll be busy with the three B's: Beach, Beer and Boobs!

As predicted, the Porsche 919 is shattering track records around the world. It’s amazing that a car this big can out run an F1 car. Stefan Bellof had the record around the Nurburgring in a Porsche 956 doing it in 6:11. That record stood for 35 years. I’d love to see them try Pikes Peak, even though that electric VW time from last week would be tough to beat.

From 7 to 11 on tonight’s track walk/cycle... it’s amazing how large that curb is in 7!

Also dropped a second in qualifying today to put myself on provisional pole headed into tomorrow! Another qualifying session in the morning, then race in the afternoon! Such an awesome race track

Looks and sounds just like Project Cars 2 eh?
I liked how they could show the HUD thing-a-mi-jigs too. If I didn't know better I woulda swear I was watching an in-game cockpit view race replay yes.

Yeah, people think F1 has always been the fastest road cars, not so. The group 7 can am cars in the 70s were faster, bigger prize money, F1 was over shadowed by these cars. Now it looks like that could happen again.
The trouble with F1 for the spectators is they all look the same. Sound the same.

Attention.

Hey guys, I just got word that our beloved Aerocrunch was in a bad motorcycle accident yesterday. Pelvis, femur and other bones broken. Luckily no head trauma,(he can't afford that). I talked to his wife a few minutes ago as he was being wheeled into surgery for repairs. I guess some kid ran a stop sign on the highway right in front of him. That's all the information I have at the moment
It just shows how even the best riders, like Steve, can be taken out on the road. My bike is for sale immediately.

I'll keep you updated as I learn more.

F....me. Good grief that is bad news. So sorry to hear. If you get a chance please pass the news we're thinking of him and hoping for some good repairs and speedy recovery.
That's the thing with motorcycle eh? Fun to ride but one accident could get you flying with serious repercussions, 'specially with old bones. Anyway, all the best to him.

Holy crap. . That is rotten.... especially at our age...we heal so much slower.
Please tell him we are thinking of him, and wish him a speedy and full recovery. Damm, he was gonna be out in my neck of the woods too. Not for a while now I guess.

.. but also a lesson to us all to remember when we shift in behind the wheel or the handle bars in real life... be careful out there and pay attention all of the time. There are too many ***** morons on the roads.

Having grown up with a father and brother that rode taught me to be extra cautious around motorcycles. Whenever I come upon one I kinda use my position to run defense for them. It infuriates me to see people recklessly pass me in order to tailgate a motorcycle. It's often young people that are not conscious of the risk ratio between a car accident and a bike accident. Cyclists are so vulnerable, and at the same time have every right to ride and be safe. It's just so damn unfortunate that ignorance is so prevalent on our roads. Our safety isn't just in our own hands, as demonstrated by Steve - a pro rider injured by somebody else's horrible mistake. I'm just sickened. You really are a friend Steve, and I really hope you make a full recovery with minimal suffering.

Update.....

Steve spent 11 hours in surgery yesterday to attempt to repair his pelvis and hip, ouch, next week they will address all the other broken bones on his left side....He will be in intense care for a while. All of the bones on his left lower body are damaged, I don't know about his pecker, it might have survived.
It just goes to show that experience is no match for stupidity. Steve is the safest and most experienced rider that I know. If he can get taken out, anybody can.
His address is 448 Donaghue
Oxford Mills On.

Please send him some cards, funny cards, rude cards, it'll be a while before he has anything to laugh about.
The last thing he said to his wife before going under the knife was not to let the Lounge fade away.
How's about for support we all drive yellow(yuk) cars for this Monday.

Still in shock reading about this yes. Seems so unreal. One minute you all good going about your merry way, maybe thinking about boning the wife later or choking the chicken and the next minute WHAM your world turns upside down and wondering what the heck just happened here. Thank God he's alive yes. You never know. Why we have to appreciate whatever while we have it. That's some scary **** Aero going through. I don't pray much but I think I'll say a special prayer for our boy Aero. I'll miss him like crazy until he returns. Hoping for a speedy recovery like everyone else. Hope the pecker ok too. Maybe when he gets a chance he'll be able to log in and lime with us. Will be great to hear from him again.
I'm cool with us all driving the yellow car this Monday.

Good call, how about we all drive yellow cars until he comes back. It will give all of us something to look forward too.

Man. I read about Aero last night. Hard to hear about something like this. Broken femur is bad enough but broken pelvis is a whole other level. You know it's serious when they say, 'ehhh - let's fix all the other broken stuff next week'. Let's flood his mailbox with cards. Maybe not for a week or two, but eventually he'll want to smile again.
