The doc said I didn’t want to know how close I came to being paralyzed waist down! Or for that matter not making it, scary to think about it.
The rods, plates and screws remain and will quite often even get covered over in new bone and tissue.
I went back to the hospital in the city today (much better ambulance ride) for updated X-rays and to see a couple of the surgeons. All is progressing well. Denise was able to take pics of the X-rays which was great as I’ve been wanting so much to see them. I have added another spoiler to my post on this page showing them.
Cool ting. Always wondered about that. Thank God they don't have to open up again to take out stuff after all that initial surgery. Could well imaging how unpleasant that would have been.

Wow Steve, just WOW!!! I'm so thankful you made it out of the accident alive. Hard to imagine you were actually fortunate looking at the x-rays, but your positive disposition proves how remarkable your fortune is. I must admit, you've won the trophy for most hardware I've ever seen in one persons body!

Having broken my back years ago, I've always said I'd rather be walking with some pain than wheeling myself around with no feeling below my chest. And I'm sure your thankful too.

Myself, I visited with my surgeon yesterday. He referred me to a neurologist to do an EMG, so he knows exactly which nerves and discs are causing me so much problem. I'll head back to his office in a couple weeks to schedule surgery. L5-S1 fusion, and partial discectomy/laminectomy of L4-L5 for sure. He sent me downstairs for an x-ray of my hip yesterday because my symptoms sounded like I may need a hip replacement too. Of course I immediately thought of Steve as I was pooping myself. Thankfully my hip has no skeletal issues - just muscular issues stemming from my back nerves. With surgery and therapy, it's probably still going to be a couple more months before I'm back to heel-toeing in my rig.

Steve, you're a bad a$$ for what you've endured. No two ways about it. If chicks dig scars, you've got a get laid pass for life. You should carry x-ray pictures in your wallet! Your wife is going to have to keep you on a leash.

I like the different weather but the wheel volting from all those puddles ruined my shoulder to the point I did not race yesterday in SRM. :nervous::scared:

Not complaining though.

Wait, lemme get my cryin towels from the dryer......Wa wa waaaaaaa. I admit the thunderstorm was a little extreme in the size and amount of puddles on the road. I just thought, being the professional sim racers we all think we are that you guys might like the challenge. Jeez, you try and please everyone....I'm sensitive you know.

This Monday will be a little different. Race 1 will have A group running the Camaro
IMG_0588.JPG

And the B group will drive the Mustang
IMG_0587.JPG

Race 2, we will switch cars so A drives the 'Stang and B drives the 'Maros then run the same race.
Race 3, you can pick whichever car you wish from the 2 selected.

Where you ask?

I promise no rain, it is the desert after all. I tested both cars for track and competition comparisons and was pleasantly surprised that both shoes fit. Should be fun.
Thanks to The Camel for suggesting it.

I can't seem to post pics so screw it. Won't be able to make Monday as well due to work. I will be back on the 30th.

Nice. But please Cheese, before I end up searching all over the place and choosing the wrong Camaro and Mustang since there's multiple, could you kindly state for an old git the proper name etc for these cars as listed in the game before I have to pull my hairs off? That would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

See why you does have to miss Aero? If is one ting he used to state proper names.
Aero come back quick eh.

Awesome! Well done @The__Camel ! Maybe we can finally put this Camaro nonsense to rest. :sly:

The Camel? What IS it with that guy. He's extremely fast, has great racecraft and track manners, he's polite and sociable, and NOW he's coming up with GREAT combo ideas! Where does that guy get off, honestly...

That's right, as a matter of fact I'll drive my Eye-Tal-yan Day-tona 3-6-5 G-T-B and walk all you guys, then it will TRULY be put to rest... (say Lehman, popping another beer and insinuating 'Hold my beer and watch THIS!')

Camaro nonsense??!!! Nonsense??!! Wtf?. Blasphemy!!. And David, shame on you. What camaro?... a person of your vintage doesn't know the 69 camaro?.. is dementia setting in?
Oh, and mcninnis, too bad you couldn't stick around longer tues night. Wound up running the ginneta junior at donington. 12 in the room, public lobby. Cleanest racing I've seen. Lots of door to door, no dive bombing.
Top 5( myself and wog included) running so close it looked like one dot on the map.

I thought the pics might give away the secret car selection. i humbly apologize for any Trinidadian confusion this might have caused. The more you piss me off David, the longer I am going to squat at your house this winter. Make sure your butler and maid are aware of my special needs.....Skittles and some good Rasta herb and we'll be good. How far are you from the beach? I might need a car too.

Now that Pitts has folded, RIP. Thursday night is available to do something without stepping on our friends toes. Maybe an un-official practice night might be in order. Let me know if it's something you Wankers might be interested.

Yup. I could be down for Thursdays as an additional night too.
Mondays and Thursdays seem just right with the "rest" days in-between.

Thursday s dont work for me after 9 your tine, at least until November. Sailing you know. But It would be great to have a practice/additional race night.

Took those two puppies out on the Big Willow for a spin last night and it looks like it is going to be another night of awesome racing. My beautiful wife and I are volunteering at a Canadian PGA golf tournament from Monday to Sunday next week. If things go as planned there is chance that I can join before the first race starts. Otherwise I'll join up for the second race.

I found the Camaro to be slightly more economic with the fuel at 60.20 Liter/100km vs. the Stang at approx 60.95 Liter/100km

Now, @davidt33 , You know how long the track is and it is probably going to be 20 laps. So, you can work out the distance we will race. Use the consumption numbers above to calculate how much fuel you will need and Lobban will probably put half of that in the tank. 1 mile is approx 1.605 km

Example: if the race is 50 miles total. Then we drive approx 80 km. Fuel needed will be (80/100)x60.95 = 48.76 Liters. Round it up to 49 and Lobban will probably give you 25 liters

Sooooo....what you're saying is we'll need 49 Litres right?

*Runs*
David, David, David.......I believe it was two or three months ago when I posted the complete detailed outline of the simple math I use each week to figure that all out. You know it’s going to be a 30 minute race so super simple to figure out. Am I going to have to get the nurses to sling me into the wheelchair and take me to the airport so I can come down there and.............:)

Hey, in my defence, I'm an artist not a mathematician eh.

*Ducks and runs again*

You really should sue: they obviously messed up the picture in the get-well card and called you “Harold”. We all know you’re actually the sponge bath king. Fortunately you stopped cleaning aero by licking him like a mother cat licks her kitten.
Says who? Someone's gotta clean his taint and I do have a cat tounge.

Stole this from the Mangos. Number five is my never ending reference to you guys.

I believe I have been a bad influence on David, he is starting to sound like me.
But. In my defense, I also have artistic talents. Not mathematical talents. I would post some of my paintings I did of a Ferrari p330, 69 camaro, 55 Mercedes gull wing, 67 stang fastback. If I knew how to extract them from my photos in the I pad.
