I’m not one to brag buuuuut,
Man I’m liking my avg. finish position!
Haven’t driven the Ford, hopefully the Vette is a little more stable than PCARS1, I remember that thing being deadly
Only "Mr.Awesome" is allowed to brag :D
The Vette is so much nicer to drive now!

@aerolite @Mike Lobban can I join u guys on Monday’s, might need group 3 for me lol.
Hey KG, it's been awhile, will be great to have you join us and I look forward to seeing you on track again! Send me and Mike FR's please. I will add you to the active drivers list.

And I’m so ready to get wheel, I’m watching a lot of videos on wheel stands, and I’m leaning on getting g29 and if I enjoy using wheel I’ll upgrade from there.
I've had a DFGT, G27 and now a G29, and other than a small, easily fixed issue with a pot in the 27, the wheels have all held up very well. The pedals are good as well. Quite a few here use the T300, I used Mike's before and it is a nice wheel as well, but there are definitely more bugs with the T300's.

Oh my gosh!...really? Two wins?... son of a ..... dam I wish I could remember...
Ya know now that I think of it...I think my wife had me shop for my own Christmas presents a few months back... can't really remember tho...just as well... at least I'll be surprised come Christmas morning.
Haha......a few 2nd's and 3rd's as well bear, but that will change this week!!

Nice to have a good track and cars to race on though...Not like some of those thin and skiddy devil tracks before.
Been taking a tush on the tracks with the cars and liking it.

Thanks for the plug Robbie, awesome article.
Oh to be 19 again with a purpose in life like that. A word of wisdom from an old BoB.....don't let a woman get between you and your goals. My music dreams were dashed when I knocked her up.
Sorry Bear, I'm older, but David is the oldest.......oh

Robbie: heed Mike’s warning he knows what he’s talking about.

The Logitech G29 is great and I love it but the shifter that's sold separately is now starting to miss gears so hopefully by tomorrow I can go to Best Buy and install the new one. Contacts must be shot or somethin, idk. @The__Camel I saw you in the 41 livery! Haha that's my piece for tomorrow. Hop in the 40 and we'll be "teammates" lol. Idk if any of you watch NASCAR but good for Chase Elliot running Hamlin into the wall! Rubbins racin with full bodied cars.

Huge swing in Chase Elliot's stock today. That boy is just playing the social media card too well!!! I just wish he would have gotten his first win today. Darn tires just didn't have the distance. One more caution, and he would've been in contention for the championship... and gotten his first win. That would have made a story book ending. No... I'm not really in to NASCAR. Seriously, I'm not...

I don't want to release anymore spoilers, but I will say, it was a great day for watching racing.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On another note, ran some practice laps at the Glen. Stewards are pretty strict. Hopefully our Race Directors don't go soft and turn off penalties. Tighten up those lines boys, there's very little runoff allowed at the Glen!!!

Ok no more bragging, but for those that are interested in reading the MMS interviews, it was my turn to go up to the mic ;)

Great interview Robbie! You know you will always have our support, and I hope great things come your way

Robbie: “Many years later, my dad bought a Formula Vee and started racing. That was in 2002, so I would have been 4 years old at the time."

WADE-A-MINUTE!!!!!.....You're only 19 years bro?
Too funny David, he was 16 or so when he used to spank us in Monday night Miata's :banghead:

And Robbie, don't listen to those guys and their women advise, just make sure you find one that totally supports your racing, plays no mind games, and doesn't want kids! Oh wait, I found her 31 years ago and not sure if there are any others like her out there, good luck!

Just remind me. I always pick Columbia blue first, neon green ish second, and yellow third.
Hey, the co-big cheese always takes yellow ( the rare occasion I have to take 55 no matter the colour). I deduct points from anyone else who shows up in yellow :D

Just go with yellow every time. Especially if it's #55!

Sorry about the long post...
In post #599 Bear was joking about buying his own X-mas presents (and forgetting what he bought himself). If you're like me, you probably just buy what you want throughout the year which makes it hard for family members to figure out what to get us for a gift. I've thrown together a list in case you guys are looking for ideas to "suggest" to your family what you might want. I have most of the stuff on this list and can vouch for them. Also, at the end are links to a couple of trackcars I'm looking at. Robbie has driven something similar, so I'm just wondering how they are and if I'll even fit (5'10, 205#, 35 waist).

I was looking at getting a shifter kart, but at 5’10 205# I’m too big for them. My Porsche is getting too valuable and expensive to maintain for doing track days, so I was thinking on getting a track car. Here are a couple of local options. Any advice or suggestions on a car? I’d rather keep it under $7k, but I know this guy is ready to make a deal:

I’m fortunate that I have 3 road racing tracks about an hour away - Pikes Peak Int’l Raceway, Pueblo Motorsports Park and High Plains Raceway, and then Bandimere Speedway for drag racing/kart racing is only 30 minutes away.

It sounds like your family was racing in the 80s, I probably talked to one of them at sometime or other. My brother was running a lotus 23b at the time. There were a lot of formula fords and formula vs, running at the tracks also. We frequented Westwood in b.c. , Edmonton international speedway in Alta, ( it's not there anymore) Gimli Manitoba, and mosport. I hear you when talking about racing costs. My brother (Al Downing) was lucky enough to be using the same tires as the formula Atlantic cars. 13x13 and 13x15, so he would buy the qualifying tires off them cheap..

It's gonna be busy tonight me thinks.....get on early if you want a spot. If we have to turn guys away, sorry, maybe next week we can try two rooms.

So, made a roast beef dinner for the family today. Wife cones out to the kitchen where I have the window open - to clear the searing smell out of the house - and she says, "Do you smell cows?" Granted, we live in a very agricultural area, but cows/manure is rare. I lean over and put my nose to her armpit, take a big snort, and say... "Nope, can't smell a thing." Ohh, I'm so in the doghouse!

Small world eh, my grandpa Al Ores and my uncle Mike Ores ran in FF and FV pretty well every weekend there! I’ll ask my gramps if he recognizes your brother next I see him!

Those are pretty nice! If you're going to go racing though, remove the words 'keep it under $xx' from your vocab. Do it though, do it!
In 1989 is when I bought my little Merlyn Club Ford - Paid $2500 for the roller and $2500 for the motor. I was 19 on a shoestring budget and most of the other guys were doctors and lawyers or some sort of professional. At the time I could have gotten a FVee for about $3K, but I wanted a 'real car'.
But I say do it if you can, even if you have to settle for a fender car and only a few times a year.
PMI is a really great track!
