Knock on wood I havent been hit with any pre race glitches that didnt allow me to enter the track. I just feel bad for the guys that are hit with a glitch before the race, and now are not able to race and have to sit it out. But the grand pooBOB has spoken. You're SOL everyone, no restarts!

But the inverse of turning ratings off is we can't make them better, which only comes with the more clean races you do. And as some of us don't get to race nearly as much as others, that means we need to make the most of ratings being on when we do get to race. In bears case for example, he gets to race a lot, so the occasional hiccup in his clean record won't affect him much. So this Pooba says leave them on!

Start time is still 8 pm EST.

*****
Tonight the max starting fuel will be 22 liters each race.
GP = 14 laps
Nat'l = 20 laps
GP = 14 laps

And this bob (bitter old bear) says your just jealous of my A rating... but I didn't lose any safety ratings, just points. Which you had more than me to start with anyway. And no I haven't been online for a week...my pinched nerve was bothering me. And tonight I'll be wasted on painkillers. So I'm not going to be at my best....

If it does happen to you....don't do like I did and wait for the race to start... if I'd have got my ass out of there before the start of the race I wouldn't have lost any points.

Old age is a helluva ting.

IMO the rating system only really matters if a person wants to race in public lobbies. Anyway Wifey is off today so we may be playing, but I should see you guys at 0100-0200UTC...
Ok..so I'm on metric standard time.. so does that mean the room opens at 0700 parsecs now?

If the majority speaks up and wants to run with ratings off, then I’m ok with that. I don’t race enough for it to really matter to me, other than Lobbans always rubbing it into me that he’s an A. I figured it’s just one more thing to add to help keeping people racing clean.

I think we should keep the ratings on.

......Except for of course racing in rain with devil puddles (not mentioning no names) which should be outlawed or if racing in demolition derby.

Just so you guys are aware, I ain't skeered of any track! But GT3 at COTA is a very common combo on the public lobbies. For someone who races in public lobbies, like me, it's just kinda Been there Done that.

Are there any openings tonight for a friend of mine?
As long as he reads the first post and has an idea of what we are about. He can join us but if room fills and an active driver is trying to get in then he’ll have to leave.
FYI, if someone asks to join during the week through the normal process then I put them on the active list ready to race the next Monday. We have had an issue with last minute joins not working out before so that is why the explanation.
I hope he’s slower than you, lol

Just wondering. Isn't it about time (8:00pm) by me now or are y'all on time-saving change thingy in your part of the world?

I will reiterate; last week I shottied the Red Dragon, anyone else picks it and I don’t mind intentionally lowering my safety rating LOL ;)

Unless of course I get stuck in a Cayman...

Sorry fellas, between the ridiculous automated driving crap and my back (inb4 Robbie’s a BYW... bitter young whiner) aaaaand those horrific starts, I wasn’t going to stay for race 3. Starting at the back has its perks, and that’s seeing the dung hit the fan and gaining 8 spots right away... IF you can make it through the maze of spinning cars. It’s quite amazing to me how there is a 100% chance of an accident before the first few corners have gone by every single week. Two cars can’t fit in one spot!

Roll on next Monday, take it easy folks!

After watching the two replays from last week's dry races... This is what my laptop looks like. The contact has just gotten out of hand.

Oh, don't throw laptops. :sick:

Thanks for the racing tonight guys, we have a good group here.
As was mentioned, we need to work on our re-entries a bit. I owe @Awaffle14 an apology - I thought I was dead last and wasn't paying attention pulling back on there in race 3 - sorry about that!
I also had someone pull on right in front of me which caused a big kerfluffle for many.
I'd like to offer a welcome to the Camel, fast, clean and polite - thanks for joining us man!

Camel is awesome! A welcome addition to this group. He's a chess player on track. I figured that out in only two races last week. (Not counting the wet race because there were too many unknown variables). He's in no hurry to pass, if he's faster, he'll set you up and take it when it's clean.

Yep...I really enjoy racing with camel, (even tho he can beat me in the 69 camaro) hahaha. But yes, other drivers can learn a lot from him.

No problem man, last night was wicked. It seemed like cars would be rolling into or through a turn nice and smooth then just stop for a split second and go. Almost as if people were brake checking but I really don't think anyone in this league would do that. PC2 is slowing down, the new patches are like daily medicine to keep it healthy.

Yep, that's it exactly. I think it seems worse on the new tracks, and with full rooms.
I vote ratings turned off till this is corrected. I had to go to public rooms to build up my points and safety rating again. ...I've done that before, open a public room, pick the 69 camaro class, and wait.... sure enough the suckers come in and pick the Ferrari. I start at the back, pick thru the carnage and voila....big points, and safety rating jumps.( in that class, nothing handles like the camaro)

Well what can I say about last night, I thought the car and track were really great to drive, but unfortunately there were just too many glitches to keep it enjoyable for quite a few I'm sure.

We also really need to clean up our starts, Robbie nailed it on the head, and I quote, "It’s quite amazing to me how there is a 100% chance of an accident before the first few corners have gone by every single week. Two cars can’t fit in one spot!" We really need to stop this, we keep going on about how this night is supposed to be all about having some fun in a casual environment and keeping it as clean as possible, but it's really not happening that way for the first couple of laps. All this does is frustrate people that get affected by the aggression of others and that takes the fun factor away. I'm not pointing the finger at anyone here, just making a general observation of the overall picture week to week. As the races progress all is usually very good, with great clean racing, good respect and most knowing where they are on track overall.

I'm seriously thinking that it might be time to grow to two divisions, that way us mid pack guys can race together like this series was intended for at the beginning. Mike and I started this series because we wanted a place to race against guys of our caliber. We were in a great series before, but it grew to the point where we were lucky to finish mid pack and we spent too much time just racing alone. So by starting this, we could have someone to race against most of the time and at least have a chance of winning a race, and nobody can deny that that is always a great feeling! It was never our intention to let really fast guys in, but it is so hard to say who could join and who couldn't, especially as Mike and I have been friends with so many fast guys over the last few years now. How do you let one guy in and not another! So maybe going to two divisions, where at the beginning there might be say eight drivers, at least we will all be closer in skill level and always have someone to race against, just like it was here for the first couple of months. I will discuss this with Mike and we will decide one way or the other in the next couple of days.

Here are the results from last night. Congrats to @The__Camel, who gets this weeks title of "Mr. Awesome" :cheers:

I need to try that out haha. I went from a C1362 to an E1225 between last night and a few other public lobby races a couple nights ago. I've tbought about ways to trick the system as well ; ). F the ratings! I'm clean!!!!! Last night I was Denny Hamlin a couple times I must admit but like I said weird weirddd things were going down entering turns. They will fix it and we'll all make it through, I have faith!

Never had a win in this league yet that I can remember. I've been leading, but pit stop has always screwed me.

Would it work better at this point to have two 'classes' rather than divisions? You already have that for the start with A and B groups and I think it works great. With two classes, all still race together, but one group is technically racing the other, just like the pro series only we're not in separate cars - although we could do that once a month or so as well and truly have a GT3/Cayman night. Therefore Mike would have been the Group B winner last week. I like that idea because then we don't have to say 'goodbye' to certain people and still get to enjoy racing together, it keeps the challenge of being on the track with other classes as well as keeping the numbers up. Besides being fun guys to have around we can also learn from the faster guys as opposed to being in separate rooms.

Ditto. I think the two divisions idea could work too. I know you mentioned it before but it's worth a shot, all things considered. With the lobby generally well participated in terms of numbers I think we could have sufficient participation for both groups of private lobbies. Would work better IMO if each race separately instead of altogether.

<----BTW, position #11 out of 17 last night (not last). Ha. Feels good not to be last. Go me. Yeaaaaa....!
