Took a look at one or two of the vids. That certainly takes some getting accustomed to it seems with the screen tilting so much, being so unsteady. Had me pretty disoriented.
Yup, that's the replay showing you something completely different than what I'm seeing. In 3D, VR, it's all exactly how you would see it in the real world. So hard to describe. What amazes me: Why Sony didn't do more marketing. Anyone that experiences this technology is going to buy it.

@Aero: My MV Senna was an ‘02 F4 750 (#202 or 212 of 300...can’t remember now) and not the 1000. The 1000cc model came out in ‘06 I think. The black w/red trim stuck with me. Both of my current cars have that color combination. I got rid of it due to maintenance costs and being too nervous to ding it rather than just riding and enjoying it. That’s the thing that sucks about something that you believe will appreciate in value: it’s an investment and not something you use and have fun with - that’s the exact reason why I bought a 928S and not an air cooled 911. Our local dealership messed up some of my friends bikes (a Ducati and an Aprilia), so I had to take it Euro Cycle in Vegas for it to be worked on. I think you can still find one in the $12k to $15k range. And you were at Loudon right around when I was getting into it, but I wasn’t in your class. You’ve had some cool bikes. Never knew Can Am built a RR bike. A buddy had a 2-stroke “Harley” (I think they owned the other company during the AMF days) that was made in Italy by Aramicchi -spelling? His name is Bob Allison, and he was there when you were. It’d be cool if you two raced each other! And I met Hurricane at a couple of events and Malcolm numerous times. Malcom was a big draw at any T/R event because they bought out MSR, and I think Bob Hannah was into racing airplanes for awhile when I met him.

Hey guys just a heads up. Yeah I'm gonna throw in the towel for awhile in Pcars. I've been playing a lot of Sport with my new wheel, and the more I play it the worse I get in PC. I have a hard time adjusting going back and forth since the physics are completely different. So the more I play Sport, the less fun I have on Mondays since I'm over driving the car and cant keep it on the road, and then I go back to Sport and now Im pussyfooting it until I get acclimated to the physics again. The last Monday I raced was the first time I've ever dropped out early because I just wasnt having any fun.

This isnt a farewell post, Ive been here since week 1 and have enjoyed racing with everyone in here. I'll still be reading the thread and I'll come back every now and then to race with you guys. But for now I'm going to concentrate solely on sport and try to improve in that game. At least I took a crack at both games for awhile, still waiting to see some of you ex-SNAIL'S join us for practice or on Sundays in Sport. See you guys down the road.

I'm curious.......do you like Sport more than PCars? I've tried it and it's just nowhere near a sim game. Just curious as to why one would choose that iver PCars. You are really fast in PCars and fun to race with

That sounds exactly like my last post for racing on Sunday nights in SNAIL, only I went the other way. I completely understand. I wish GTSport wouldn't reward overdriving the cars so much.

Ok I'll take your spot in group one then. Faster cars....Go me!!!!

I suspect it’s merely due to the number of competitive divisions in GTS Sunday Snail. That is primarily why I bought GTS. You will nearly always have at least 10 people on track who are your equal no matter what division you are in so that is a fairly attractive environment no matter how crappy the sounds and physics are.

Oh so you guys have leagues over there as well? Didn't know that. I can see how it would be competitive. The few races I raced reminded me of racing on GTA V. Just didn't have to have any set skills of understanding how a car would work or handle, just had to throw it in the turn and hold it there.

Yeah Camel, we all stem from Gran Turismo, and a Sunday night league called SNAIL. As GT6 aged, and Project Cars developed, some of us strayed from the heard. We were often referred to as, having turned to the dark side. But we all fell in love with the realistic physics, and it's hard to reconnect with our old SNAIL buddies. I'm kind of trying, but it's not going too well. I just like the realistic physics of PCARS 2 so much more.

Would like to see what Dirt Rally VR looks like if you could post a video please Jeff. I know I could probably find a you tube, but I'd like to see how a newbie with it makes out!

I visit that site at least once a week, don't know why I put myself through the anguish though! There is a 1980 Ducati 900SS for sale right now, just have to figure out how to get it here without the wife knowing, lol.

Hmmmm.......I have at least three responses I could post to that right away....lol

I can understand the competitive nature of the divisions having spent a couple of years doing that with SNAIL, and a good bunch of guys as well, but I just don't get the attraction to GTS when there are much better SIMs around. With so few tracks and cars in GTS, things are going to get very repetitive quickly. Yes you can argue there are enough multiple combo possibilities but there are only so many tracks and that is going to wear very thin after awhile. I hope for the sake of the GTS fans that PD starts adding more content soon.

And Chris, as I said in our pm, we will miss you here and you will always be welcome. I can totally understand the difficulties in going back and forth between the two platforms, don't know how some of you do that! You just chose the wrong one though ;) :boggled: :D

GTS is fine as a driving game...until you try PCars. The visceral sounds and feel of the cars is light years ahead of GTS.

But we all did the GT thing for years and still had a blast. Competitive, closely managed and heavily regulated league racing can work on any platform.

I thought I was going to have so much fun painting cars and watching glorious replays...but those days are past and I barely have time to play the game at all.

I think I’m coming back to PCars in 2018.

Yeah I can say I get a lot more enjoyment out of GT than PC. The GT series has always been my go-to racing game all the way back to GT3. I always raced on the controller and figured out how to make it work. Then PCars1 came a long, played it for 30 minutes and shelved it. I could barely make it through a turn without spinning. Then Mike and Aero created this lounge and it gave me an excuse to try it again which I'm glad I did. It took some time to adjust, but I got it figured out with the right settings. But I would only hop on Mondays for it, and compete in SNAIL on GT6 full time. Now that I have a wheel, PCars is a lot better than on a rinkadink controller, but I still compete in SNAIL full time and play even more GT during the week so its hard to show up Mondays and keep it between the ditches. It also depends on what cars were running, but the last Monday I raced I realized I cant do both and still enjoy it. If I dedicated more time to it throughout the week I could probably do it, but 1 night a week doesnt cut it when you're racing a completely different game 4 other nights a week.

Did you play any of the other GTs Camel? I can understand GT feeling drastically different and not feeling like a sim if you hadn't played them before. But I do agree GT is more "arcadish" of the two. But I also feel like its the more well-polished game of the two and less glitchy/buggy. I dont want to start a PC v GT war so I'll leave it at that lol. So yes, I'm a GT lifer.

I suspect it’s merely due to the number of competitive divisions in GTS Sunday Snail

That and just the sheer numbers of drivers spread across all the divisions and all the history. I'm a latecomer to SNAIL (May 2016) so I missed the 8 division glory days you guys got to experience. Its a shame because I was active on GTP back then, I just didnt know it existed. I'm still fresh to it and still having a blast.

Thanks Steve. You and Mike do a bang up job of running a well organized casual yet competitive league. The best part of Mondays has always been the mic chatter, I get a kick out of hearing you guys rap on the mics. Well.. most of you anyways. I'm so happy to have made some good racing buddies along the way.

I'll keep an eye on the thread, Im not going anywhere. Just going to take an extended vacation for awhile, but I'll hop back in every now and then. God speed and party on

I had to buy McLaren on Blu-ray, but it was a great documentary. I also purchased “The Green Hell” documentary about the Nurburgring. It’s only available as a digital download but well worth it. Another good one is “McQueen: the Man and Le Mans”.

Well on the free end of the spectrum I just found a four part series on Amazon Prime called BBC Racing Collection Season One. The first episode is about F1 in the 60s and 70s and how dangerous it was. Good stuff.

Thanks Gutter. I'll have to order it, Williams and McLaren are my two all-time favorite teams - especially McLaren. I'd like to see nothing more than both of them climb back to the top in the next few years and be the ones battling for the championship.

Where can you watch McLaren? Also there’s a Ferrari movie out also and wondering how to watch it.

I've been waiting to get The Green Hell so thanks for the reminder Gutter. It's finally on my torrent download site. Just DL'd it, the new McLaren movie and the new Ferrari:Race to Immortality movie. I get this stuff from The Pirate Bay and use UTorrent for the software downloader.

I just signed up for free one month trial. Found the Steve McQueen Lemans series but can't find the BBC Racing Collection anywhere on the Prime site?

The Williams show on Netflix was really good, always been my favorite team and I really like Claire.

Search BBC: The Racing Collection

Be careful about searching the term “BBC” on the Internet. You might see some things you weren’t expecting! Lol.

And on another note: I’ll be starting a 2 week Group B Challenge in Finland for DiRT Rally if anyone is interested (I know you are, Camel). The best cars and track stages, in my opinion. The Pikes Peak Challenge ends in less than 3 days, then Group B starts.

@ICE, why did you have to post those motorcycle links!?! I’m tempted to get another bike now.

Welcome to the madhouse, Smoke and Senna.
