yea or drop down to a semi race flywheel and get a stage one clutch with the $1300 and the $400 saved with the flywheel swap?

just another option
Yeah the clutches and flywheels make a huge difference in times....

especialy when you're leaving off the line in third with the nitrous sprayin...lol

Taneras
My fully tuned SVT will hit sub 10's (9.5xx to be exact) with its racing setup. I probably could get it in the 8 second club if I set it on drag settings...

just tried my 1998 Audi S4 out .... was my fav car in GT3 or was that GT2.... bah ..... i got a 8.4xx with nos 8.7xx without and if you didnt notic no its not in the budget lol

I'm thinking about getting into this competition as well, but is it allowed to BUY all components for a car, but not install them while racing? I don't think that makes any difference? I want to experiment with different exhausts for example.

Can someone start a 50k thread? io tried to, but maybe im not an important enough member to start something so similar to an existing thread. why not a gt4 drag forum to match the drift forum? As a preliminary for the 50k limit, i used a 97 impreza and got under 10seconds, 9.972. im sure better times could be achieved with some more concentrated buying etc. details can be posted if this turns out to be a good time.

Any idea when the thread starter will give us a complete list, or when he will re-submit one of his cars? Think he has only done 1 so far. After another week or two of this, we should start a 40 or 50K category...

I started working on my list this morning at work :scared:.
Saturday morning (tomorrow the 22nd) I'll finish off my list and post it.
I am making the list in excel, and making it export to html so I can use tables to organize the data. Its a lot of work.

Once I have finished the list. I'll have to jump in and race against you other guys,
I just have not had the time yet.

### Purchase ###

So, I bought myself a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 Turbo (J) '95.

Price: $15,102
Miles: 65937,7
Dealer Power Display: 276HP
Stock Actual HP: 286HP Stock 400M time: 0'14.461
After Oil Change: 316HP 400M time: 0'13.979

### Update 1: ###

Ok, after testing different combinations of parts, I came to the conclusion that this is the best setup:

*Full transmission/lsd/suspension: FREE
*Racing Exhaust: 4800
*Racing Chip: 1500
*Semi Racing Flywheel: 600
*Semi Racing Intercooler: 1800
*Stage 1 Turbo: 4800
*Stage 1 Weight Reduction: 1200

Total Cost: Cr. 29802

This is before I tweaked my car-settings other than installing the parts.

Power: 409 HP
400M Time: 0'12:339

By the way, all parts were bought @ HKS. I don't know if that makes any difference.

FYI for everyone that commented on my post #148 on the previous page, I have updated it correctly now. I forgot to include $50 for the oil change and $1200 for stage 1 weight reduction. Oops!!! :O I had everything in an excel spreadsheet and just forgot to include those two in the post, so the final price tally as shown was still correct. I had no room to spend any more money on anything else.

However, I do wonder about the racing flywheel. Maybe I could trade down for a heavier flywheel so I can include a clutch in the package as well. I may have to try that soon.... 💡

the clutch makes a huge dif .... i took that dodge neon on steriods and ran it stock on one of the tracks ... dont remember the name the game is off right now began with a T ... tusk or something like that lol im terrible with names ...

then i put a Triple plate clutch .... made a lil bit better time ... took it off and put on a Racing Flywheel and ran it ... didnt even notic it i got the same time as stock ...

took that off and ran it with a racing exhaust got a good time and then ran it with just the clutch and flywheel and got the same time as with just the exhaust.... so the work great as a combo but the flywheel is almost useless alone imo unless your packing some power

oh btw i was b-specing it i cant even get the same lap times running a stock car on the high speed ring lol ... dam DS2

sorry if that was a bit confusing its 12:51 am and i cant sleep so i figured id work on a my model 1971 Boss stang for a bit and somehow i ended up on here ...

Subaru Impreza WRX Sti '94

Nitrious 5,000
Racing Intercooler 5,000

Suspenion and Transmission Upgraded

Total cost 29,800

1/4 Mile time of 10.602

Just a little tip, some of the standard trannies took .2-.4 seconds off my best tuned racing tranny. Maybe I am tuning wrong, but it seems that sometimes the stock tranny works just fine ;)

Also always try starting cars in 2nd and sometimes even in 3rd. I've gotten some of my best times that way :)

I was planning on posting some better times but after a really ****ty day some of my friends decided to take me out and cheer me up. I am beat and its nearly 1 in the morning. I have a lot of work to do tomorrow but tomorrow night I'll get some more times up :)

Keep those engines running guys, and good luck :)

Well, I didn't improve my NOS time with the Camaro, but by golley I finally hit 11's. :D

1997 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 (NO NOS)
Base price: $8438
Supercharger: $13,500
Racing chip: $1500
Semi-racing exhaust: $2900
Racing Flywheel: $1050
Oil Change: $50
Stage 1 Weight Reduction: $1200
Total cost: $28,638 ($1362 left over)

Power: 454 hp
Power/weight ratio: 3.024 lb/hp
Best time: 11.994 seconds

Finally!

Hey, great work there semvhu 👍 Addictive isnt it? I have been trying to better my times with the Mustang but only seem to be losing a 10th or two now. :nervous: I think I got a far as I could on it.

1995 Mazda RX-7 Type RZ (FD, J) [$13,684]

Base time: 15.09

Spent 29k and change on mods. No NOS. I go all throttle, no bottle.

323hp

First run: 13.08

Second run: 12.98

After tuning

First run:12.88

Second Run:

Well, just my luck. Had the car set up and off to Vegas I went, stopped off at a Casino and lost the car gambling. Now I have to walk home. :nervous:

Actually, I was using the flywheel because in my testing with the Camaro, the flywheels individually gave me better improvments than individual clutches. The racing flywheel alone actually improved my times better than a few of the small power mods such as the racing chip and sports exhaust.

However, a combination of a lesser-priced flywheel and one of the cheaper clutches may squeak me under 11.9. I'm away from my PS2 for the weekend :nervous: :yuck:  :scared: so I'll try it again when I get back to my house tomorrow night. 👍

bindidot, thanks for the thumbs up! :D Yes, it's VERY addictive. I'm only like 45% through the game and have put the regular racing aside for this 1/4 mile competition. :sly:

I was scouring the thread for FR cars with and without NOS when I ran across a post that's keeping up with everything. It's oil_injected's post on page 4, post #71 . 👍 :D Good work dude! I'm just posting this here to let everyone know that he's keeping up with things there in case people have forgotten or haven't seen it.

So far, I'm in 3rd in the FR category with NOS and 2nd without NOS. Grrrr, the Camaro only gets a 50 shot of NOS instead of 100 :grumpy: but I guess that's saying something that the Camaro can do that well with only a 50 shot. I'm just 9 freakin' ms behind Eveek's non-N2O TVR Cerbera. Dang those TVR's! :D TVR rocks, btw.

I think I'll be trying some added weight in the back tomorrow night as well to see if I can improve my launch......

Freakin' addictive competition......

Edit: me had some incorrect grammatical thingies

The balast weight in the back helps out a ton! I started with 200 on the rx-7 and slowly worked it down to about 150ish(thats the most i can take off without spinning the tires like mad!) i need to work on my non nitrous runs... you got me beat there! but on nitrous i am still doin good :)

Where are you getting the "freebies"? I don't see anywhere about getting the custom trannies or suspension you guys are using?

if you think it is so "gay" then dont do it or even bother with it .... some may think it is fun to have an actual challane rather than use'n a frigg'n Mazda RX-7 or Subaru Imprezza

and if RR is so gay then why does RUF mainly make RR cars? and there are more than that in game but thats all you can buy for 30k

on a further note ... im out of cash so i gotta stock up again ... just bought a V8 Vantage for 224k ... hated it in old GTs but i just found myself loving it on the nurb with all assist off ... completely stock ... and a wing cause i never could controll it....

Well since nobody else has done one yet, here's my entry for a RR car.
