Well said & wow...... I never even made the connection between silhouette racers & bosozoku cars before.Glad you liked the post. It was fun to do. More and more I want to convey the joy of seeing old cars as they were. Any Japanese car show I go to, the stock or nearly stock just stands out more. They are always more clean, more loved, and more pure. I don't mind a little lowering, or a set of Wats from an aesthetic standpoint, but much more than that the car loses its personality. That is one of the reasons I LOVE TLV. If bosozoku is your thing, why not buy the TLV Super Silhouettes to get a sense of the scene's origins. Anyway, I will stop...
I think it is the light on the CR-X. Just took a gander and the tire is in place. Hard to know why it came out like that. It is definitely closer to the light sitting on the trailer. The rims on the CR-X do protrude a tad from the tires.
Not that I didn't believe you, but I got curious, so I looked it up on Wikipedia & sure enough, Japanese language section broke down bosozoku to several types & it was noted that those referred to as the "街道レーサー" or "Kaido Racer"('kaido' similar to old highways) did have rides inspired by silhouette race cars. If you clicked on the link, you'd have witnessed bosozoku cars that looks like silhouette cars designed by bunch of toddlers.
Well, I learned something today. Thanks John!
