I ain't even mad actually. Just wanted drama. Discoverys are cool too. I've never discovered a '97 Defender IRL, but I can defend a Discovery's status. I could almost see myself starting a MBX collection on those things. Almost. But in the world of Matchbox, it's all about the Defender. It's like the Shelby Cobras of Matchbox.

Thank you all for the comments on the Drag Bus. It's a good piece but I had it there more because of the story behind it than because I really like the casting. It's so overplayed by now, but back in the day it was the only one in existence.

Also, the advantage of this is that when I take pics of the cars I'm cleaning, I can also take pics of the stuff I have lying around and share them. Corgi Mercedes Benz School bus. Late 70s.

Also, a guy on HWC saw me complain about a scalper in my area that likes to take all the JDM cars when they first come out (he took all the 350Z's in the Halloween cars, all the Skyline zamacs, etc and I expect him to take all the Titans from the Christmas cars) so the guy is sending me 2 Titans free of charge. 👍

Long story short, I was forced by traffic to stop by Toys R Us on the way home today. I see this there:



One, two, three of them. I thought those things were Shelby Collectible "chase" cars, but I'm not able to find one normal looking one. All zamac with red tires. I don't believe that they have three chases on the peg & no stock ones, so I barely walk out the store with one.

I come home, they are chase. Understandably, they are worth $10, if that.

Really tough choices. I have a soft spot for the Toyota truck from Back to the Future. I finally gave in and shelled out $30 for the $TH Gasser, but it's not here yet, and that bulky looking front-end is still a question mark for me(side view's worth a million bucks!). I'm going to have to come back to it later.....

They're nothing too great, but they are cheap. I picked up 20 of them for 75 cents each. Not a bad deal at all.

And yes, I still need more.

Nah, these are way worse. Late Superfast-era Matchbox wheels are some of the worst ever put in diecast cars.

Oh, also. I was amazed to find today yet another 2015 case at Wal Mart. I picked up the red Hachi Roku and such, don't know how far behind we are from you guys over the States, but it can't be that far, can it?

I haven't seen anything new. No 240Z, no Bluebird wagons. Kool Kombi, I grabbed two, and haven't seen anymore since.

I picked up 20 of them for 75 cents.

We can let a lot of things slide for that kind of pricing!
