To me, it all depends on the lighting.

Halogen versus tungsten can change a look dramatically. The best 'real' colour you could perceive would be in daylight; but as to what label you would give it . . ..

Duuuude! đź‘Ť good stuff, give us better pictures of this thing so we can see it better! With that light I barely make out the real color... magenta?

Also, that Real Riders Corvette, yum. I didn't think someone else would have one appart from the Panda. Great piece, that one.

Only air-cooled. Also screw you and your Norevs. I need that thing too. And the Gordini.

Counter attack, with my I-freed-it-from-its-crooked-blister Majorette Golf:

You asked for it, chap.
I like the volvo lol

Went for a long drive today, stopped at a few stores. Only real highlights were the MB Alfa 4C (with bad paint, may buy another when I find one) and found an M case of all things at a Toys R Us but it was well picked through. Got the green recolor of the Ford Transit Connect.........and that's about it. Sadly the Toys R Us stores seem to be shrinking their premium 1:64 diecast section so finding anything worthy there doesn't really happen anymore.

So I don't really post much here. But I might get into collecting HW/Matchbox cars. Sadly I don't have a camera to take pictures with (I could attempt to use my laptop if you guys really want pictures though).

Anyway, today I was able to visit a flea market. I only picked up 4 cars, but I thought they were cool enough. Those cars were:

A Hot Wheels Ferrari F50 (time stamp of 1999)
A Matchbox Ford Escort RS Cosworth (time stamp of 1993)
A Hot Wheels Plymouth 'Cuda Convertable (no time stamp)
A Matchbox BMW 850i (1992 time stamp and also features a logo called "World Class under the body).

That's it for the most recent pickups.

sounds nice. Would love to see the 850i, and the Escort

And suddenly a Delta shows up.

Hi @DurWinning - seen you around so you're no stranger to me - but welcome to the discussion!
Don't worry about the pictures for the moment - as you may see everything from aimless shopping trips to photos swiped off the internet are in here. We will walk you through the steps as you go along - there's plenty of helpful people in here. Some quick advice - don't jump into the hobby too hurriedly - enjoy your four cars to begin with, and there'll be plenty of time to make up your mind as to which direction you are going to take.

Was the Escort blue and white with the #5 on it? Or a red one?

The 'time stamp' as you call it refers to the copyright belonging to the original cast - so even a car released in 2015 can have '1993' on the base. ;) đź‘Ť

Yay! Racing Champions! I love them - got quite a bunch, too - and of course a whole bunch posted in this thread on and off.

Nice to see you here, eagle-eyes! đź‘Ť

@DurWinning, PM Sent.

@photonrider, I actually have a lot of extra CM's cars I'm looking for potential buyers to take off my hands. Would you be interested in owning some?

Maybe. :mischievous: Maybe not.

Hee hee. :) Actually for every non-Mattel car I have I have a hundred cars from Mattel. And considering I have almost 5000 cars now . . ..
But this means I have to buy some non-Mattel cars. Or else people might mistake me for being a Mattel purist.
Wait. I am that. :sly:

Shall contact you soon via Convo - maybe I need to take some of your cars before another grabs them.
I'm still not speaking to Apok because he grabbed the Stratos . . es.

We're not speaking, right, Apok? :irked:

Well, I'm still waiting for a reply in our Convo, so I guess so. :P

I shall hither away post haste to yon forest of Conversations and engage thou in a combat of verbs that shalt have me possessed of all your chattels.

But first . . . a moment while I have come tither - to throw some finely captured specimens to transport and delight your knavish tastes.

Oi look, more dirty cars from my display shelf. Yes I'm still not done. Yup, I'm even way more behind in showing you teh goodz. This time, it's a 1996 Treasure Hunt Jaguar XJ220 that looked like this (ew) even if it sat on the shelf not as long as other cars.

After a thorough but relatively easy clean-up, the resulting car has quite the visual punch:

Grabbed this thing at a random flea market I stumbled upon about a year ago or so for abour $3, great price considering how difficult it is to find and the good shape it's in.

It only has a small chip right in the smack-middle of the nose which is noticeable in this next picture, but thanks to the paint's hue, it disguises very well. Aside from that it's pretty minty.

Finally, look at how much play the front axle has. Waytogo, Hot Wheels

Other than that front play, I actually reallly like the Jag. It's a perfect color and the gold wheels go nicely. Nice grab

Yup, love it or hate it the color combo pops; I always liked it but, as a '96 TH, I never thought I'd have one due to the high prices and such. And surprise đź‘Ť
