Not in stores yet. That one doesn't have the hood stripes, so that came from the New York Auto Show. ;)

Please tell me you were not the person who paid over $40 for it on eBay....

Got some more Hotwheels and a couple of Matchboxes this week

And I finally found a Ferrari FF.

I need to take that IROC out of package already. It's so cool, but I do wish it had normal sized wheels in the back. I mean look how awesome the Knight Rider Firebird look! Just perfect stance.

Come one Mattel!

I need to leave that IROC in the package for the rest of my life

Fixed. :P

It's so cool, but I do wish it had normal sized wheels in the back.

Couldn't agree more, the IROC looks so damn cool (especially in red), but the stupidly oversized rear wheels almost kill it for me. :boggled:

Nope, scored it off a friend who was at the show for $5. He just thought it was an ordinary toy car, even after I told him what it's worth he didn't want it. Not complaining though. 👍 Anyone know how many of these were made?

I saw some of the boulevard cars yesterday at K-Mart, dunno if they were the new ones (probably not), but i lulled at the IMSA-like Mustang

X3091C-3.JPG

I looked at that and thought BOSO!

I think it's up to me to give a history class on this car, since I seem to be the only one to know what the hell is up with it.
This Mustang II is CLEARLY inspired by the Hot Rod Magazine/Monroe "Monroe Handler" Mustang built in 1977 as a project car:

79monroemustang.jpg

The car featured the then wildly popular IMSA-style fenders and a full-on suspension overhaul by Monroe, an 8-track Motorolla unit and a Roush-built stroker 400+ hp small block. It was so well-liked that the guy who did the custom fenders started producing them in fiberglass and selling them to Mustang II owners. Only a handfull of originals were ever produced.

It's obvious that the HW isn't the same as the real car, but the similarities in color alone give the game away in two seconds, the Monroe Handler was CLEARLY the inspiration for this car. I really loved the fact that HW brought back this little and pretty unknown (today) piece of hot rodding history, it's because of things like this that HW catters to the enthusiast so much.

^ Thanks for the quick history lesson Cano 👍, I've honestly never heard of that Mustang before.

Whatever.

I don't collect anymore, I'm gonna open it if I feel like it, just like that Subaru STi I bought yesterday. :sly:

That's fine mate. I'm just one of "those" people who doesn't like to open them up.

Oh and thanks for the great pics of the STI. I want one even more now.👍

I'm so jelly it's not even funny. If you guys find more than one of the new rides we all seem to like, grab 'em and sell them to me.

Boy, good thing I'm disciplined on gtplanet. At work, I might have said something.

Who am I kidding, it would've taken me literally two seconds.

Whatever.

I call BS.

You're still buying them, you are collecting them. ;)

Edit: My list is officially FINISHED. Now to start a separate list for Matchbox...

You're still buying them, you are collecting them. ;)
You are right, but it's one of those "yes & no" situation. I am buying them, but 1) I'm not going out of my way to buy them 2) In much lower numbers

But yeah, I'm still buying them. I'm surprised.

Nothing new in this picture but given the recent news, many of you should see the significance in it:

Thursday, I stopped by Walmart. There I saw that Boulevard series Shelby GR-1 Concept for the first time, and I picked it off the peg with a full intention of buying it. It's little bit stupid & embarrassing, but I had this inner debate in my head that I was going to buy it, then my left brain was like "if you were still collecting, but you are not"(I know, not this again, sorry). So I finally put it back after the second time. Next day, Shelby was dead.

The end.
Once you start, you can't stop. It's VERY hard for someone to get away from this hobby. Ask me how I know. :P
How, buddy? Tell me how? :P When I went to Target tonight, I didn't buy any, but I still looked.

I still don't even know why you decided to quit?
I bought a ton, and I just throw them in boxes for storage. I think I might have enjoyed the "hunt" more than the actual cars?

I don't know, but it's still fun to buy them once in awhile. :P

Here comes the K mix! :D

Didn't even know the Z4 had a metal spoiler, thought it was plastic. :dunce: Going to by hunting for the Z4, Mad Manga, Gallardo, 2002, and possibly the ricey 350Z. Still waiting for the J mix to appear here... :grumpy:

Not too bad of a hunt today.
Finally got into buying Tomica. Unfortunately, they only had the Toyota Mark X singles and no STI/Evo X double. However, my brother found one and bought it where he was. :D

Last of the Ferrari Racer at TRU (Other than the ugly blue/yellow Daytona) - Ferrari 308 GTO
Toyota Mark X
Double:
Subaru Legacy B4
Mitsuoka Orochi
(What should I do with the people models? :odd:)

I noticed that the singles for Tomica aren't the most secure packaging on the market. There were two singles of the Mark X, picked up the one without being stapled back together, and it accidentally slipped out of my hands. The package fell and pretty much blew right open with the car flying out. :scared: I didn't want to purchase a package that looked like I attempted to open it, so I went for another one that had been stapled back together... :indiff: I also asked the employee if they had any more singles, but she said they won't be getting any for a while. Is the GT-R Tomica model gone now? :(

Walmart:

Finally got the 2nd wave of Mystery Models! Guess which ones I got... :sly: (I'll open them later on)
Another AE86 to open up. :D
Boulevard Shelby GR-1 Concept! Looks great!
Lucky enough to wait for it at Walmart rather than being impatient and paying more at TRU, the Ferrari 5-Pack!

I think I might head back tomorrow after work to buy myself some more mystery models and another GR-1. Maybe even one of the other new Boulevard cars that were released. The blue Camaro looks good...but I'm still not a Camaro person.

Here comes the K mix! :D

Walmart on Thursday, they had half of those cars. I didn't see Mad Manga, white BMW 2002, DW1(had to look that one up), or anything good from those boxes, and I didn't think they were carryovers, as I had never seen them before. The dump bin had been gone through, so I probably just missed them(must fight the urge to hit other Walmarts lol)

I really like that the Olds 442's back, with the cool new color. 👍 Same Thursday, I time warped to a store still stuck in 2010 and had picked up a red one from back then(pic posted).

Just how 2010ish is that store? Any R34s? :P That's quite interesting that your store got the cases, but didn't get much of the new stuff. Was there any Z4s?

Edit: Opened up the Tomica Toyota Mark X and LOVE the suspension. Brings me back to the old days of diecasts. :D

They had everything from Vintage Racing series, "Garage" series and the mainstream Hot Wheels from '10 & '11. Sorry, I don't recall seeing any Skylines. :dopey:

As for the Walmart, I think it was cleaned out already. No Z4s. Only car I bought was '70 Road Runner from the new stock. But half the cars from that video, they had in their dump bin.

I grew up on Tomica, but new one's just don't do it for me. I see older Tomica on eBay, and they look absolutely money.
