Woah! Everyone got some sweet 1:64s on this page, nice! Cool cars you got there A6, I like them :)👍.

The detail on the Greenlight cars are pretty impressive and closely somewhat related to the Johnny Lightings, espically on the muscle cars.👍

I wonder if GL do JDM, Euro and Aussie cars as well.
Thanks! 👍 I completely agree on Greenlight. Fine work, but I've only seen American cars. It's definitely one of my favorite companies, but I'd love to see them produce more imports.

This x1000. Damn, that's some killer stuff a6.
Thanks goat. :D I've posted this before, but this is where I got them. I highly recommend this store, but definitely bad for your wallet. As I said, I kept adding another car, another car, another car......

I dreamed that a6m5 was quitting collecting. It was a very lucid dream - so real. Must have been a dream, because in real life . . a6m5 is freaking out!! So damn jelly! Urgh!
I thought I quit, but yeah...... :P While I've been buying a lot less, and don't go hunting anymore, I guess I still will be collecting them as long as I'm participating in this thread. My collection has definitely shifted towards more premium cars though. Vintage Racing, Garage Series, Greenlight, Johnny Lightning, etc., etc. While they cost more, details & rubber tires makes them worth it for me. That blue Johnny Lightning Camaro is a good example. It's like a detail of decent midsize scale diecast on a hot wheels sized car. I'd gladly pay more for that. 👍

Well - take that:
I bought Choro Q style Hakosuka RC looong time ago. While I ended up returning it, as it didn't drive as well as I had hoped, I'm sure the newer micro RC cars driver a lot better now. They look like fun!

I like your cars, but especially the Nova. My favorite body style. 👍 Is it a discontinued model?

Still cheaper than on eBay or my local retailers by quite a bit.

If I had that kind of money to spend I wouldn't be collecting hotwheels, I'd be buying 1:18 scale cars.

Edit: I've been finding a bunch of the Decades 80's AE86's lately. If anyone wants any, let me know...

lol no. But you need patience.
Saving maybe a buck on each car is not worth that kind of time!

1/18 is very cool, but for me, problem is that I don't like displaying any toys or hobby stuff. I'm digging these hot wheels-type cars, because I can store them neatly.

I actually have a friend who displays diecast cars in the bedroom, and I really want to ask his wife how that is allowed in their home. But I know that I'll end up bringing in a whole new meaning to a "homewrecker", so I bite my tongue.

AE86 hasn't been that rare lately, but still is nowhere near a common "80's" in my area. I'm just glad that people are able to find them, if they wanted them badly enough. I hope that Wheldon car availability would reach that level sometime. :)

Edit:

I will tell you that is the best looking Miata I've seen so far. While the price is outrageous, if the claim of 1-of-500 is true, I say it's worth it.

South Texas Diecast lists that car as worth $55 mint on mint card. It's the only one I have seen on eBay since I started looking for Miata's on there.

I'm talking with the guy right now to see if he wants to trade or trade+cash.

I like pictures. Pictures makes this thread interesting. 👍

Zoom out, guy. You're getting too close at times that it's blurring the car out. You can always take the picture zoomed further out and then just crop it later. Do you have photoshop?

Ok XD im still experimenting with it and the
lighting =D

I would play around with where the top light source is coming from. You want to light up the car, but you also don't want to flood the surfaces with it or else you lose detail and form. If the light source is too hard/strong, you can cover it with tissue and/or pull it further away from the car. you know what would be awesome though? If you had 3 or 4 smaller light sources. I posted my entire collection before using a funky dark blue paper as a backdrop and 4 small keychain 6-bulb LED flashlights; one pointing at the front right-side corner of the car, another at the opposite end, one above and another one further back behind it to increase the exposure since the top light wasn't enough.

With black glossy cars I had to rearrange the lights so that they would reflect into the camera's lenses otherwise I would get no light on the picture. Yes the photos relied heavily on 4 little flashlights. No room lights were turned on.

I can do some pro work in my studio *blank white*

Sigh, I don't have anything he's interested in. Don't wanna pay $25 for that car though. :(

Anywho, stopped at an auto parts store on my way home and picked up these beauties. Got both of them on clearance for.............$1.27 each. :D

Argh, tempted to stop by some auto parts stores to see if they have anything good. Only problem is...I don't know which ones may actually carry them. :nervous: I believe Pep Boys does, but that's too far for me. The others, I'm not sure if they carry any diecasts. Nice grabs though. 👍

So far what I can tell from the internet is that out of the four auto parts stores I know, two of them carry Hot Wheels. Autozone and Pep Boys. >_> I remember the Pep Boys website said they had Speed Machines in stock...

Edit: Closest Pep Boys is 37 miles away...

:D went to K-Mart to look for some.

Picked up some old models: the Custom Camaro and the Callaway C7;

both of which are hella ugly; the "Custom Camaro" wears increadibly fat-looking wide aero and cholo-laker colors. The Callaway is decently ok, but i have to say it looks nothing like the blister art. I was debating the IMSA styled boulevard car... but passed on it.

After dropping my wife off at work, i checked Ralph's and there was the huge arse sandblaster. Holy hell that thing is twice the size of a lot of hotwheels i know of. I was debating it, but even at "Ralph's Club" price it was $1.50. They had a lot of old runs and i thought i'd be able to pick up the ever-so-saught after R34 Z-tune, but alas, no. Lots of red One-77s and FFs tho.

A couple of pages back i remembered someone was looking for diesel duty. I saw a helluva lot in the exact guise as posted at target and i'd be willing to go for a trade if they still want some.

It's my turn now:

Just when I thought I'd never find any more new Boulevards.

That and a Jungle Rally 5-pack. I'm sure you guys won't need to see those.

You know what? All I normally get are the 206s, 307s, Impreza, both Pajeros and both Red Bull F1s. Everything else are in expensive packs with trucks I don't even want.

I was definitely lucky to find 2 Xsara singles today.
