Sweet, seems a bit crammed, But overall its a good start. But my question is, Why did you think your parents would get mad at you?

It is quite crammed and there is no real protection from them falling off the back...so I'll have to find something to prevent that.

I thought my parents would be mad, mainly due to the fact that I'm spending money on...toy cars. They knew I liked collecting them with my 1:24 and 1:18 scale cars. But I wasn't sure how they'd feel if I went back to collecting the smaller stuff. The "kiddy" toys as they'd call it. However, they seemed alright with it. Next up, finding a place to display my carded cars. :D

Do you have Ikea in the USA :D ?
They have some nice displayers.

Because they are old and collecting things like this as a hobby is stupid to them a hobby is stamps or someother lame thing.

They will also see this as a waste of monies.

Very much true... As my mom all of a sudden pointed out. After we went out to test drive a car and get the price on it which was too much for my parents. When we got home and had dinner, out of nowhere my mom starts yelling at me telling me that my collection is stupid and how she wanted to throw them all away. Also how she wanted to throw out my scale models, despite about a year ago, she told me I could put them in one part of the TV cabinet display. I'm getting sick of her change of heart. This always happens in a matter of at most an hour or a couple minutes. I'd say her record for changing her mind would be around 30 seconds... Already she wants to take down the shelves she just let me use. 🤬

Vintage Stock!

After buying a few dollars worth of 25 cent cars last weekend I decided to splurge today at my favorite store. I rarely go through their loose cars because it takes forever, but I was diligent today (and had a spare hour to waste) and look at what I came out with for just over 9 dollars.

In case you don't notice, loose items are 49 cents!!!

I have a sealed master blaster fast 111 in perfect condition's XD ^^^
I think the line would have been better if they dropped the hideous bumper haha

I got on real quick to see if R1600 had any successes, but this was unexpected. Great job guys. :D:tup: I'm in love with Ben's White Testarossa. 👍 Wyvern's 240Z looks like Choro Q/Penny Racers, but I don't think it is. I could be wrong. Regardless, it's very cool. 👍

Medigo, parents can drive you crazy with stuff like that. Think of it like a practice until you get married. All people have issues. ;)

P.S. I actually found all the cars I wanted while grocery shopping today. Well, except Wheldon. I'll post pics when I get a chance!

Here's the pic of what I got today. Lamborghini Estoque, I picked up last week? I was hesitating on getting one, but when I saw the Mystery version, I had to get it. Falcon, I picked up by mistake. I already had one, and was looking for the Boulevard, or Garage, or whatever version in the past, and I got mixed up and bought the standard one again. The Copper Stopper is a really cool looking car(Boulevard Series, bottom-right). I missed it last week, I'm glad they still had it. 👍

Here's a nice pic of Copper Stopper.

Sweet cars man! Where did you get them?

Coming back from car boots sale
Just bought a 1/43 scale HW Volkswagen golf cabrio and
1/43 matchbox speedthings k-52 datsun 240z rally car
pic later

I've got that Turbo Fury, I love how the fans on the back spin.. mine don't very well anymore sadly.

I forgot to add, but amazing casting on that CR-X(Hot Ones). I am impressed. 👍

Thanks! They are from Walmart, which is like the only chain that stays on top of Hot Wheels where I live. Boulevard Copper Stopper I got where I grocery shop. I also picked up the '71 Cuda from Target(that green one), but I forgot to post that one.

I'm just jelly :(

Look for it in stores! I think I paid about $2.97 at Walmart. I was going to buy just one, but now I want another to open up, and take a closer look.

Edit: Looks like R1600 completed his CR-X custom. 👍👍

Edit2: Hot Ones CR-X was $2.88. Didn't it used to be $2.47?

Edit3: I paid some attention to that Nostalgia Series Hot Wheels today at Walmart? I don't care for the artwork printed on them, but have you guys paid close attention to the detail on those cars? I think they are crazy like $5-a-pop, or something, but they just might be the best quality Hot Wheel-brand cars I've seen in stores. If they didn't have the dumb nostalgic artwork on them, I'd buy a few.

We don't have 'Hot ones' over here in the UK... or any other special kind of Hot Wheels (lucky to find the odd TH now and again.. but that's it).
Have considered getting 1 off e-bay, but can't justify paying more in shipping than the actual thing itself, i guess i could even it out by purchasing more than 1 item, but nothing else catches my eye really (no point in buying something you don't want).

The stores I've checked lately are pretty far behind. Wal-Mart might be better like they are in some areas, but I can't bring myself to go in there and deal with fighting my way through the store and then waiting an hour in line.

Ah, I didn't realize that you were in UK. I've bought a boatload from these guys before: Milezone

I just did a quick freight quote, and the shipping on the CR-X alone comes to just over $11 U.S. Yeah, shipping sucks. :dopey:

I guess they are notorious for that. I actually don't have any Walmart nearby at the moment(they just secured a empty lot though). Due to the distance I have to travel, and to avoid traffic, I go only late in the evening, sometimes past midnight. It can still take me about 25 minutes to get to one. I rarely see unreasonably long lines at Walmart, but this is probably why. I do have a coworker who's whined about the Walmart line more than once.

Yeah, shipping does suck.
Cheers! for that link though a6m5. 👍
Just came across the Boulevard Porsche 914-6 , that and the CR-X together may help start to justify the shipping... hmmm, very tempting indeed.

I'm really digging the green truck. Don't know why.

Edit: No problem AT1. 👍 Yeah, I'm getting that 914 as soon as I see one locally. If you do end up looking at one big shipment, I recommend Greenlight, Johnny Lightning, and maybe M2 as well. They are the companies I'm into right now. They do really nice work, especially Greenlight. 👍 If you follow that CR-X link, that store carries a lot of the current premium models out there. I'll post an example of one that I posted awhile back.

Greenlight - '68 Mustang

Johnny Lightning - '69 Camaro SS

I'm not worthy!

I hear what you're saying a6m5, but i'm very particular about the American muscle that i like, having said that, the detail on the cars of those 2 pics you posted are exceptional, very high detail/quality indeed. 👍

I'm the same way. Very picky. I think I understand what you mean though. Those companies like Greenlight, they seem to focus a lot on American vehicles & muscle cars. I wish they broadened their line-up a bit. I'm Japanese, so I'd love to seem them take on vintage Japanese cars. I'd probably pay ten bucks per car, if they did that. Johnny Lightning, especially now that they seemed to be owned by Japanese TOMY. Datsun 510 by JL, I guarantee that they will be soldout from every vendor in the States!

Edit: Custom Mad Manga on eBay. Just because. :D

Same here... well, that's if they sold JL over here.

[EDIT]

I have actually seen a JL car over here (2 infact), about 10yrs ago in a comic book shop (Nostalgia Comics) in Birmingham UK, one was a white Mustang (60 something.. forget the year), and a convertible Toyota 2000GT, both had JL/James Bond packaging... didn't have enough money to buy them though at the time (bought an 'Akira' 1/12 scale bike model instead)... sadly, first and last time iv'e ever seen those JL's in the UK. :(

Wow, I've never seen an Akira bike. 1/12 must be pretty big, too. 👍

I happen to have that Bond 2000GT by JL. I wasn't even collecting back then, but I did like 2000GT, and was a fan of James Bond. I don't even remember how, or where I got it.

It was quite big, wasn't the nice 'Bandai' one though... can't remeber who made it but it had bogus tampo's on it: it had 'IMMIGRANT' instead of 'CITIZEN', 'Corrupt' instead of 'Canon' etc. had lots of nice quality detail though, ended up giving it to my dad, as he collects bike models.

[EDIT]
Kaneda Akira bike was made by McFarlane, and it may have actually been 1/16 scale not 1/18... i remember getting a 'Tetsuo' character with his messed up arm at the same time as well. :D

Not a recent purchase, but a recent discovery of one I've had for years.

Made by Lledo, and it's a 1933 MG.

ad5b4ac0ce5d11e18d8622000a1e8ba3_7.jpg

It's a nice little model, but unfortunately part of the exhaust has broken off at some stage, and one of the little wire wheel rims has split too.
