That Miura... I love Miuras, but that just looks way off, for some reason. Not Kyosho's finest effort, it has to be said.

The side profile, from the roof all the way to the back is totally wrong. What I have to guess is a consequence of this is that the side windows are too small.
And another thing that stood out to me is the front. The front air intake thing isn't shaped correctly. It sort of arcs upwards like a strange awkward smile.

I have about 9 of the Dydos. 2 Ferraris, 7 everything else.

Still haven't found the Datsun 240Z, but I'm settling on the Bluebird which came in not too long ago. :D

I guess that with a small size come big problems... A pity, really. I'm not sure if I'd notice that myself, but since I only own two Miura models that are larger (my unknown one and my Minichamps Saint Agata one), I can't say for sure.

They are releasing these Jeeps like there's no tomorrow. I think besides this police one, there are two others coming.

I'm beginning to really like green light. That jeep, the Monaco and the explorer are my first picks

The Explorer really is nice from a distance, but up close the quality leave a lot to be desired. I want to like it, and a few of the police decos have caught my eye, but then I look at them up close and pass on it. Shame really.

Hmm. Maybe once I see them I'll decide. The jeep is most likely a yes, cause it looks awesome. The Monaco I'll probably get, if only because I like Monaco's for no reason. Lol

I have a Monaco on the way right now, that recent release in the red fire department deco. Passed on it a couple times at the store and finally when I was ready to give in I couldn't find it. Currently on it's way right now along with a '65 Chevelle.

Now my general rule is if I think it's cool I like it

That used to be my rule. Now it's "if I think it's cool, and if the casting doesn't look like the Koeniggsegg, and if it's NOT a casting I said I can no longer collect, then I like and will (most likely) buy one."

I'd hate to stick to a rule of "I'm only buying X car because.. i only buy X kind of car". Generally if i see a cast i like, be it HW's, MBX (any brand really) etc etc, i'll buy it.

As condemning as it sounds, placing restrictions on myself give me the challenge of finding workarounds and allows me to really know more about my taste in cars since I become more critical with my choices. Plus, diecasts don't rule my life (and I sure wouldn't want it to). I'm pushing myself in learning to let go of the lesser important things in life.

It's a lifestyle practice somewhat.

Lol. That's true, if the casting is crap I probably won't. And on occasion if I don't like the tampos I won't. Like hw team racing colors. Personally I don't like any car in that theme. In reverse if it's gulf colors I will buy every one ha. I'm slowly allowing myself to venture into new brands. Used to be a hot wheels elitist, until I found out matchbox makes awesome castings sometimes. Also I have a few greenlights, which so far are pretty cool. I bought my first auto world today, a viper. I have too much other stuff going on to let it rule my life, but recently I admit my buying has increased. If they weren't so cheap lol

Couple of nice pictures of the TLV Civic's due to be released in September courtesy of 829 Japan. Wasn't big on either colour when they were first announced but after looking at these pics, I'm sold. Particularly on the green one.

Considering that is my favorite version of the civic ever, ever. I might actually buy one. Even though I know it's going to be more than I'd normally spend.

I had a TLV wishlist built up. Even with the new job, I'm still going to have to push the shopping spree back some more years. It would seem I'm finding excuses to throw money in other directions. Some trucks should arrive soon.

I hear ya.

For me, my actual collecting is very minimal. I'm just not the kind of person that feels the need to acquire every version/colour/special version of X cast. I think if i were to do that, then collecting would become a very expensive hobby. I appreciate that everyone is different when it comes to their collections though, and it's good that you've drawn yourself some limits. 👍

Hw has tons of castings I like, but I stopped collecting them because A) scalpers around here take them all and B) second hand market prices were getting seriously out of hand. In the long run, the much less sought after, higher detailed releases from Greenlight, Auto World, etc are worth the extra cost while avoiding the stress.

I can see that, as some prices for hot wheels and such are insane. So far iv been really really lucky with my finds. The only thing I don't have that I'd really like is a skyline r32, and matchbox new alfa. The only other thing I have to watch for is premium line releases like the heritage for the 510. When I got into cool classics I thought I was only gonna buy a few, but I really underestimated how much I'd like them, so now I have like 15

Oh, I almost forgot. One of the guys I work with is headed to Japan next month for wind tunnel testing, and he said I should make him a list of anything I want and he'll try and get it for me. Time to load up on Tomicas for cheap. :D

Oh you lucky dog. Just hand him a sticky note with "everything with 4 wheels" on it
