:D gonna go to frank and sons tomorrow with my wifey ;)

Hopefully she doesn't get too mad over my hot wheel-driven binge

lol on another side note, the hot one's toyota that's coming out looks EXACTLY like my uncles. too bad his engine blew, although he purchased a MKII supra for a swap...although although it's been sitting in his driveway for years... next to his gutted 70s FR Celica coupe

Hit up 7 total stores tonight, all after 11pm with 8 visits. Here's the play by play:

Store 1) When I got back to the toy section another collector was already there. He tells me they had wheeled out the new dump bin but when he asked about it, the manager came back and removed it from the sales floor because "there was no room". We also spotted individual boxes on a pallet and they refused to open those as well. I gave up and left.

Store 2) No new cars, no boxes.

Store 3) This was the same store I went through the BOD Friday morning. Arrived to find another "collector" going through the pegs. Everything looked old so I continued on down and checked the Matchbox. They got some new cars in which included a Porsche GT3 and an Evora. I grabbed the GT3 and started heading out. On the way out the other guy asked me if I was a collector. We chatted for a bit, he ended up getting a Malibu TH from the pegs. (I was just a few minutes late...grrr) Turns out he is in it for "his only income", so basically he's a scalper. :grumpy: I bought the Porsche and left.

Store 4) Walking in I almost headed straight to the toy section but there was a girl walking up the center isle that I needed to get a second look at. :) Good thing I followed her up the isle because that's where they put the new BOD. :odd: Flipped through it briefly, looked like it had already been picked through so I headed over to toys. The pegs looked like a tornado hit them so I cleaned up some, glanced over a few other things and left empty handed.

Store 5) I swear this store either doesn't know they are almost out of Hotwheels, or something weird is going on. Pegs are almost empty and what is there is a year old. Seriously. Nobody was around that I could ask about cars, so I checked the Boulevard cars and grabbed a new VW Thing. Then glanced over the boxes on the pallets, paid for the VW and left.

Store 6) All the new cars looked to have been put out the day before. Nothing interesting for me so I left.

Store 7) Nothing new on the pegs. Asked the stocker if they got in a huge box and he said that he didn't know. Checked the Boulevard cars and found a new Trans Am, so paid for that and headed out.

At this point I could have gone back home, but decided to head back to Store #1 to try and reason with the manager a bit. I tried really hard to get them to bring the thing out, but his excuse was that he didn't have any "feature space" and that he needed to wait for something else to open up before he could bring it out. Tried again to get them to open the small boxes to no avail. So plan here is to check this store again tomorrow night, and Sunday night if the next visit fails.

Will post photos of the huge lot of 3 cars I brought home.

Hey man, everyone's gotta have some failures. :P I went to the Wal-Mart the other day, after not making a run in months, and so I was expecting to walk out with a decent amount of cars after seeing the new models on this thread that I wanted during the time that passed. Lo and behold, when I got to the Hot Wheels aisle, it was completely restocked! Now I was sure I would walk out with a lot...but I walked out with nothing. Almost nothing new, just the same old stuff as last time I'd been there months before. Ugh.

Finally matchbox releases something decently tasteful. Even though I'm kind of getting sick of those wheels. Might try and find one of those 911 GT3s once they come here. :D

Purchases of today and the last run I'll have after my work. I'll be getting a new job in July.

Toys R Us:
IMG_14792.jpg

Dunno why, but just felt like buying the MB Honda Insights...
Tomica Mitsubishi Triton and Nissan Juke. Waiting on the new doubles coming out, mainly the Suzuki Swift Sport and Mitsubishi Pajero pack.
Bought the last Ferrari Racer at Toys R Us.

I did notice there were actually Green Light cars at Toys R Us, I've never actually seen ANY in stores here. Of course, there were no pegs for them and they were basically sitting on HW Racing pegs. My Toys R Us is disgustingly disorganized. :yuck:

Walmart:
They finally got the L Case stuff! I think we're finally catching up to everyone else now.

Maisto Dodge Charger
Maisto Mini Cooper
JL Chevy Citation
Ferrari 458 Spyder (x2!)
Pontiac GTO Judge
VW Beetle
Camaro
Toyota Tundra

Maisto Elite Transports were restocked, but still NO Porsche 911 GT2, Nissan GT-R, Dodge Viper, or Evo X. :grumpy: Seems like parents/kids/collectors like to go for the modern stuff and always leave behind the 30s hot rods. Don't think I'll ever make it in time to find them... My brother managed to find the Viper and 911 GT2 in NY, but of course he didn't want to buy them with the higher tax there.

Edit: Of course, I'll be looking for that HW Racing BMW M3 E30, the problem I have is that I don't know any retail stores that actually sell them. Only one that does is Toys R Us and they never update that stock...

It's beautiful, and as always matchbox did a good job on the detailing.

I only wish that they would put some of that detailing onto race cars so that I could have realistic races on that track I made at the school workshop all those years ago... :indiff:

Those cars are killer. Nice find, frog. All five of them. Also, good job on the photoshop pic. Very cool. 👍

I like R1600's Boulevard Firebird(Trans Am?). I am getting that. Sorry to hear about you coming short at Walmart. I do wish you much success on the next one!

Speaking of 🤬 Walmart, they made me buy some again, so I'll post a pic of them later. I think they might be all same one's that R1600 got yesterday, but I didn't see any new Boulevard cars. :ouch:

Longer I keep them, more attached I am to them, I think. My Miura from when I was a toddler, if I could keep one, it would be it.

Here are the cars I got:

I'm gonna be on a lookout for the Boulevard Firebird. Wheldon car was nowhere to be seen, naturally.

Who's the guy here who has an obsession for MX 5's , I HAVE A WHOLE BUNCH NOW XD

As do I.

Just went for a drive south of where I live. Hit a couple grocery stores and came out with some old but still good stuff:

Such a scalper... :P Is there a possibility those K.I.T.Ts are up for trade? Maybe even the Hakosuka? Even though I'm not sure what I have that may interest you. :ouch:

The packaging for the Thrill Racer's Evo 7 looks really odd. :odd:

I used to have loads of these when i was like 10...There in the garage somewhere, ill have a look and post a few pictures tomorrow.

You're only a scalper if the only thing you do is buy/sell.

Collectors that sell once every couple months isn't being a scalper. :P

I understand. Pretty much made a bad joke but hey, it's a joke. Can never make a joke out of terms correctly... :dunce:

Are the KITTs for trade as well?

That KITT, I haven't seen them since they've come out. I saw some immediately. I saw another one I think within few days. Have not seen one since.

I like that eggplant color Miata. Nice. 👍

That loose Miata, according to South Texas Diecast is worth $15. I paid $18 including shipping for the whole lot. :sly:

KITT's are available for trade. ;)

I just got a Harley Davidson first edition =D , *PS* the Jerk who restocks toys at target.. stocks 5 cars at a time EACH day, i went on Thursday and the motorcycle was not there , mark my words all the same cars were there with the exception of the motorcycle Perfectly placed dead center on the back of the pin -.-
Ima go tomorrow there bound to fully restock!

Il trade for some kits XD

Don't quote huge posts. :scared:

Also, multi-quote button is your friend. ;)

That's actually the way Target restocks. They only put out the same number of cars that they sold. Pretty lame.

Please use the edit button Frogmanlego, it really helps. ;) Along with not quoting an entire post of pictures. (Tree'd)

Edit: I've seen a similar Miata as the loose yellow one posted by R1600Turbo, it was red with red rims. However, the wheels seemed a bit cheaper than what are usually found on Hot Wheels. What company are they? :dunce:

Edit2: I believe they might be Motormax, the wheels pretty much looked like this. But they were red and the car had decals.

A bit of an update of my trip to Vietnam. Turns out I won't be stopping by Japan... :( My parents finally told me the tickets they bought and the stop will be at Hong Kong instead. Wonder if there are any goodies there? :odd: Will be leaving June 12th.

Been slightly curious about those Nascar diecasts, is there anything to note on those? (I.E. Rubber tires, metal base, etc.)

Sorry to hear about the Japan cancellation, Medigo - I was looking forward to hearing about your exploits there. I think Hong Kong coiuld be great for die-casts, too, maybe some exotic brands.
