RACECAR: I agree about the lack of proportions, and the scraggly detailing. You know though that if we send NASCAR officials with their calipers to El Segundo nothings going to be approved. Zero tolerance.

The other day I was at walmart, I couldn't believe my eyes the staff tried to repackage opened 10-pack boxes by stuffing crappy Maistos in there. It's already a huge rip to be paying $18 for 10 hot wheels, let alone shoving dinky cars in there. At the same time, I really hate the people who rip open 5-packs to take one car. I see it enough I wonder why they haven't been caught yet. There are cameras in the stores

More or less. I'm also seeing it from a business point of view. I'll explain.

The HW convention in Mexico is in october. The organizers (friends of mine) have talked with me as they know I have a lot of contacts with car owners in order to do the car show within the convention. I'm already phoning car owners to see if we could borrow their cars for a few days to exhibit them in the convention hall, and I've already coonfirmed several cars for the show.

For this, I'm just asking the organizers to give me a sale table at the convention. Of course they are enchanted with it, and so am I. win-win.

Now, one of the friends to whom I send stuff over in the USA will come over here to Mexico City to a concert the second half of july. I have until then to send her all the trash I can humanly manage to buy, because the freight from north of the country to here will be practically free.

That's why, even with the screwed peso-dolar ratio, I'm trying to buy as much stuff as I can, and also from a business standpoint. I just bought a Batmobile lot. I could care less about that trash, but people here go gaga over Batman. So, profit.

I won't be buying much stuff that I REALLY want in these months, but pass the convention, I'll blow whatever money I made there in cars I've been looking for some time now, like several 100% sets and completing the Vintage Racing/Dragstrip Demons series.

I know that feeling bro. I usually seen missmatched cars in different packages or no cars at all espically the mystery cars. It doesn't happens in the areas I go to mostly, it's usually in the bad neighborhoods. It's really annoying when

I see this myself from shoppers, but I never heard nor seen stockers place Maistos or MB cars in HW packages .

Oh yeah speaking of stockers and stores, went out for a walk this morning and went into the Walgreens and I asked some of the workers there if they got a new shipment of HWs. Turns out that they did, when one of the stockers came out with a box FULL of 2011s I've been looking for a long time ! Went through the box and I found several RT Chargers, Hakos, Ferarris, Vettes. Still no Genesis though, but I walked out today with:

Two Dodge Charger RTs

Chevy Chevelle SS

Corvette C6 Grand Sport

And the final Nissan Hakosuka KPGC10

I'm gonna go back soon to pick up another Chevelle and the last RT and a few more there. I would reccomend to look in Walgreens or other drugstores for rare or hard to find cars and even ask if they do have a shipment to look in.

Would you sell some of these, and if so, for how much? Maybe you could eliminate some of the excess duplicates not just by trade, but by sale too?

If the lot had so many duplicates and you didn't have a plan for them all from the begining, why did you spend such money on them, then?

And sorry, no one's gonna give you 3-8 dollars for most of those, because, like you, they are obtainable for a buck in most cases. I'd make lots of 5 cars or so and list them in E-Bay.

I have to agree with Cano, Frogman - set them up on eBay, and because sometimes the bidding gets aggressive, you may actually get some very good prices.

You know I was only kidding you. As for completing the sets, I'm like that, too - I may go after a particular set and do my best to complete it; nothing like the feeling of having a complete set! Not difficult to do, though, because there is so much trading going on worldwide.

First time I heard of that! I've had cars missing (bought the Marvel 15 Pack recently - one car was missing; reg price $49.99, got it for $10.00) but never replaced, esp with other brands. Would they even fit? I'll be watching for that.

I just swooped in and grabbed a lot of 22 carded for $17. In the lot are 8 or 9 80s cars and 10+ new models. such a strange group... the picture was top down and not clear but I certainly did well.

I'll be updating the customizing thread in the coming days with my initial attempt at a complete drill, wheel swap and paint car.

Had been stopping by Target all this week in anticipation of a restock since the pegs were damn near empty. Walked in this morning to find them restocked with about ~30 cars. (Typical Target never fills the pegs) Found another DW-1 and another '65 Malibu TH.

Quite an update today...

Turns out I won't be heading to Vietnam... My passport didn't meet the requirements for traveling to Vietnam. Despite that, my father was eligible to go, however the flight was delayed until "today." This morning, watched my dad leave to Vietnam alone. He did tell me I can use his van until he gets back, so I have my own car for two weeks! And I just called my new workplace and told them I can start soon, so they scheduled me to start Monday.

Alright, onto Hot Wheels/Matchbox stuff. Also, borrowing my aunt's camera since my dad will be taking my crappy one and giving it to my cousins in Vietnam. Do the pictures seem a bit better?

Target: Disappointingly nothing, as usual.

Walmart: It looked ok, however the dump bin was OBVIOUSLY raided. Someone got a cart and separated some stuff. You could tell they went through and looked really hard for the Super TH Beetles. (Bunch of Beetles lined up on the side)

After feeling disappointed with the retail stores with new stuff, I decided I'd go to the other side of town and look at the flea market and RiteAid (for 1:24 and 1:43 stuff). Boy was I glad to check out the flea market... A rather large purchase, so I'll put in several pictures.

The Hot Wheels Veyron has been going up in price since Hot Wheels lost the license to produce them. So grab them if you see them!!! I luckily, got an error first edition in a trade. Guess the guy didn't know what he had.*

Just purchased a lot of protecto-paks for loose cars off eBay. ~$13 shipped for 25 of them.

No but really i didn't have time to scroll thru the whole thing and check for duplicates were there's people buying cars of the lot and the guy said no lower than 280 * i paid 255 for 310 cars .. that's a 55$ profit considering i can sell each car for 1$ and there are cars that are worth 20$ in the lot i bought that i know i can sell for 10$
Im not saying im selling the cars for 3-8$ i said there valued that , and when i mean top condition i mean the boxes are pristine condition, im selling most cars for 2$ the price cars stay close to there mark * 2-5$ less*
