Mmh, interesting still. I really wonder how much.
Anyway, since everyone is in attack mode laterly, I'll have to counter with some stuff. I grabbed these in my usual fleamarket all from the same seller. First there be normal Hot Wheels:
Strangely, I did not have this 300ZX in good shape, I only had the one from my childhood, quite used up, so this was a nice minty grab. Now to chase the chrome hot ones version.
The TestaRossa is also an upgrade to the one from my childhood, which survived quite well, almost minty, but not as good as this one. I still have my original one, though:
A 25th anniversary Sillohuette, very rare that I found it in here as these were never available in stores in Mexico, which makes me think these were all imported.
The Suzuki Quadracer in pink, which I never had, only had the white one.
Now for the mid-90s Racing series, which were indeed available here; the HW-Livery Camaro replaces mine which is absolutely worn out. My favorite, though. is the John Force Quaker funny car.
In the lot was also this Big Foot with an extra tire set, dead mint as hell, complete with the flag, even.
There were also these HW Micro Chroma Racers, a series of mid-90s micro cars that are pretty damn difficult to find in good shape, the chrome is always scratched or opaque. these are freaking new.
Hot rods first, the 32 Delivery, 34 Ford and 57 Chev mirror their 1:64 counterparts perfectly.
The trucks and Baja Bug differ a little, the Bug doesn't have the giant sunroof and the Nissan is missing the enormous engine in the bed:
And the Porsches, the 911 as badly done as the 1:64 version.
These would have been enough, but here comes the best part, these Matchboxes; they might not seem like much, but remember that in Mexico, Macau-era Matchboxes are astonishingly difficult to come by because they were sold only at one store chain, and very very expensively, so they are very rare here.
First the Sun Burner, which reminds me a bit of a Monteverdi Hai or a DeTomaso Mangusta. This one is still a Lesney, made in England.
The BMW M1 is pretty badly scaled, but it isn't by far the worse from Matchbox, specially considering that this was a Lesney casting, altough this silver version is from Macau.
It just needed the round holes wheels to rule at will, its wheels are horrible:
Finally the Matchbox 935, I had been chasing one of these for a while now. Macau too. This thing is WIIIIDE.
The IMSA 3d gen Trans Am, which thankfully came to me in a version that I was missing. Oddly, I have "collected" this casting without even looking for it, as I have like 8 different versions of it. No one is complaining though.
Best for last, the Mercedes Benz 500 SEC in black. I have this in red and white, but it looks absolutely smashing in black. Easily the favorite of the day.
All of the above was about $20. I lover when that happens lol.
To finish off the post, a few projects:
Front row: a HW Renault 5 that someone turned into a targa top
the cuts are clean, so I'll try to finish what the previous owner didn't. The wheels on this were mint. The Yatming Trans Am and 300ZX are completely wasted and will serve as interior donor,and in the case of the Trans Am, its doors will give life to a Siku Citroen.
Back row, a Matchbox 34 Ford hot rod that is complete, nothing's broken off, a made-in-Mexico Nissan Crack Up lacking its rear window louvers, and a French Majorette Shadow F1 car.
now I cannot even imagine the money, either.
