I would say the BMW M3 GT-R '01 is definitely on that list.

It's probably up there just because of the experience due to the insane speed, but I mean cars that are fun to drive not just because they're really fast.

Nissan R92 C P.
Mercedes C9
Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 - 4 or 670 SV.
Mazda 787B
Ferrari 458.
Chevrolet Corvette C5 race car.
Audi R8 Race car.
Jaguar XKR '10
BMW v12 LMR
Porsche 911. Oh wait that's not in the game. :)

The Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 road car is literally laugh worthy in how much fun it is.

You let off the gas. It slides. You touch the brakes. It slides. You crank up the LSD, set it for 50:50 torque distribution and tune the suspension to make it more stable. It slides. You get on the throttle in a turn. It leads into the most beautiful and controllable bout of power oversteer imaginable. And then it slides.

Despite this, it actually manages to be very fast, easily comparable to the other cars in the low-400s PP range. So long as you are ready for an arm-workout, that is. The only reason I don't use it more online is because the thing is tiring to drive more than once.

My list (in no particular order):

- Alfao 155 DTM car (in the top 5 best handling car in the game I reckon)
- Mercedes 190e DTM car
- Re amemiya GT300 car
- RUF Yellowbird
- Toyota Minolta
- McLaren F1
- Ferrari F1 car
- Peugeot 205 T16 (Group B car)
- Go-Kart
- Honda NSX (completely standard, road tyres at the ring)

Why do people insist on the 111r RM.

Man up and use the elise S1 '96 RM as it's better through the twisties.

Power is not everything.

I've Only got 2 cars that can make this list

70' Ford Mustang Mach 1 (Fully tuned this thing has torque like nothing else, and just feels light as a feather.

97' Honda Civic With just over 400 Hp to a Weight of 860 kg, this car really doesn't drive. IT FLYES!

Had em' both as some my five first cars :) Money Guaranteed.

-Ford Mark IV
-Red Bull X2010 Carbon Prototype
-Ferrari 330 P4 Race Car
-Ford GT Spec II
-Ferrari F10
-Mazda 787B
-Peugeot 908 Race Car

I literaly just took your suggestion a few minutes ago and I dont regret any of it!, the '96 ELise RM feels so much more fluid and natural compared to its more modern brethen. a really enjoyable car.
Back to topic, the ten cars I would suggest are:

1: Isuzu 4200R - A well overlooked car, but has plenty of potential, sounds like no other car and feels pretty nice to drive, with quite a weighty feel as well.

2: Chaparral 2J - This car just screams epic, the speed of its cornering for such an old machine is staggering and it's looks are so unique, not even the X1 can match.

3: Mazda RX-8 LM Race Car - Ok, it may not be as powerful or as stylish as its older brother (the RX-7 LM Race Car) but its still a pretty good car in its own rght, and with a nostalgic paint job referencing the classic 787B, you know its going to be good to drive.

4: TVR Tamora - Seriously, good luck trying to tame this animal, it truly is not one for the faint hearted [exceptions being the Speed 12, for obvious reasons, because that is incomprehensibly insane] but for a good tail-kick around some corners, its really fun to play with, not a good racing car, but for having fun while it tries to kill you, cant go wrong with this convertible crazy car :D.

5: Lotus Elise S1 RM '96 - Thanks to the person I quoted, i now adore this car, a car which I completly overlooked in favour of the Evora, but now treat it equally and realise that this is a genuinely fun race car, the 111R is better at speed, but speed means nothing when you can have fun at doing anything else [cornering, acceleration, drift etc] and the classic Elise feels so much better!

6: RE Amemiya FD3S RX-7 - A really good car that I was very suprised about, it handled fantastically with just the right amount of cornering grip whenever you need it, and it will let you know if you overdo the accelerator pedal, but the drifting is so sweet you wouldnt mind it anyway, you'd just keep on sliding, its that fun.

7: Gran Turismo PDI Racing Kart 100 - There is simply nothing else like this car... I mean go-kart. A unique feeling and great fun for any skill level.

8: Jaguar XJ13 Race Car - B-E-A-UTIFUL, thats all that needs to be said about its looks, and its driving performance matches perfectly, a really natural feeling and fluid driving dynamics for such a classic car really make this car a standout in the classic race cars of the era. Also, do NOT get rid of its original colour, anything else just ruins it :yuck:.

9: Citroën GTbyCitroën Road Car - One of the few modern cars that truly stand out in all the right positive points, a aggresive, flowy design matches a perfect balance between harmony and chaos, and its driving feel also seems to follow that philosiphy, with staggering top speed and very good grip. It is quite the performer.

10: Daihatsu MOVE SR-XX 4WD (Fully Tuned) - Just because i can  but in all seriousness, its a pretty fun car to drive, its grip is phenomenal and speed is quite decent. As stock it isnt too bad either.

Since we are stuck offline, one of my objective was to drive every single car I owned, and I was very surprised by this car... Clio Renault Sport Trophy Race Car '00.
It has limited power (309 hp), but this car has great handling! It's one of my top 10 cars in the the game for sure.

The Honda s800 race car is my favorite

I'm so glad someone mentioned that. It's great fun.

I like to run it totally stock, on comfort softs, which I feel must be quite close in terms of grip to the tyres of the period, if not grippier.

Great engine and nice and light, definitely one of my favourites.

Actually you really don't need the 458 tuned, 100% stock with any sports tires makes great fun! I've realized that most high end cars are much better stock than anything else.

Power is not everything.

Most people just go for the newer car. Now I'll go try the '96 one. :)

People must drive the McLaren F1.
