Looking for help in getting my ride going!
Parts and ideas, anything really!!
Thanks guys!

Well, start with a bit more information about what you need and want?

Otherwise this thread turns into : OMFG lump a chevy smallblock in thing!?!!!%%%!%!!&(

A good set of tires and lighter weight wheels is always a good place to start after you replace anything OEM that's wore out.

The BMW forums are all over the place lol!!

It's got a M10 with mechanical fuel injection atm but it's not starting!!
I washed the engine then blah no go!!
Any help here would be great!!
Unfortunately my searching for part is subpar.
I'd like some rims in the style of the touring cars of the day as I would like to partake in track days on the weekend.

So you want to kit it out for the track, id do a engine swap get a e36 m3 engine into there ive seen them and they are quick i dont think theres any point repairing The m10 or just stick a M30 into it your going to also need a good suspension kit and get a nice set of bbs on it :) also engine swap is better price wise it would take a lot of money to get 321 hp frm an m10 hope this helps

M30b35 btw not the one from like the 60s or 70s cant remember exact name

Dude. Type more clearly.

Go here... *CLICK*

That place will have just about everything you could possibly need to know.

And from what I've read so far, you want to clean this up but also take it to the track? If so, that's totally possible. I'd refresh the suspension, bushings, and all handling related stuff first (especially wheels and tires if you plan on tracking it). Then just go from there, if you really want more power engine swaps are all over the place.

Also check out Ireland Engineering if you need any other parts. They're very reputable and trusted in the BMW community.

You're going need to provide more information. Does it turn over at all? If you're not sure where to start, you may want to Google "E21 not starting" or something like that to see what others have to say. Otherwise, you may be best off taking it to a shop. Good luck.

Well engine swaps are definitely out!!
Been told that the engine is very light therefore keeping the front end in check and nimble.
I like the idea of keeping it original.
I'm going to replace all handling related gear before any power upgrades.
Anyway back to topic I think I've narrowed it down to a simple spark plug problem? Water may or may not have made its way down there? Changing those ASAP!
As for the winter tyres, they do exist in Australia!
Just the same as summer spring and autumn!!

Well, according to Stiggy they do. :sly:

Technically no we don't. We have high-performance, touring, SUV and Commercial tyres. Australia doesn't really grade tyres depending on season because our winters aren't really that bad. It gets bloody cold in some places but there's only a very select few locales that actually get snow or ice that would make "winter" tyres a necessity. So high-performance is akin to a "summer" tyre (though many have good enough wet-weather performance to handle winter too) and touring is akin to an "all-season" tyre. SUV and Commercial tyres speak for themselves.

Sorry for taking so long!!

Seen to have found the problem, there looks to be a problem with what looks like a fuel injector?
If anyone knows anything or anyone who knows anything about the M10 engine help would be muchly grateful!!

Ok looks like I may be bumping this thread!

Over the past few weeks much trial and error has been performed, all leading to a faulty air slide valve... Found some tests online and saw that the slide isn't sliding lol when cold... There for air must not be getting through..
Will it cause problems if I jam it open as to start the car or do I just source a new one??

I don't think this should be a choice... I would just buy a new one so I wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.
