How and where does this feature work...by saving to the console? If this is so, it then defeats the purpose of a backup as if the console dies then so does the save.

It allows A restore of earlier save game with out the use of USB or PS+ or secondary PS3 user. ( GT5 is not the first title to use this second save game option. GT Academy allready has it)
It is a Secondary save back up. The recovery back up is still required to be done by you manualy or with PS+.
It stops those who use PS3 as a baby sitter from having to restore from USB after the save is erased by there kids. you get to load the back up when loading GT5 if it detects the original is missing.
It can also be used to recover from stupid mistakes like selling the wrong cars...
 
The chase cam for the GT86 is further back now. I'm happy. :)

Sigh, what about being able to change our songs on the fly by going into the ps3 xbar in the middle of the game like most other games?

And they still didn't fix the arcade mode where you're up against 15 GT-CITROENS and such, c'mon!!!! Please fix the arcade mode.
 
- A "Performance Difference Adjustment" has been added to the rewards for seasonal events (Applies only to seasonal events held after this update).

if it means that you'll get different reward winning seasonal event driving a FIAT Panda rather than a X2011...well...just two words: 'bout time!
 
I have a G27 and it feels slightly tighter and stiffer. I race a lot at Daytona and still don't feel the transition from the track to the apron. Overall I think the tweak is an improvement.

Before the update I tweaked my sound settings so I can hear mics but the engine/car sounds seems quieter than before when racing online. I need to tweak them back up so I can hear them again. This is using the bumper view which I always use.

The physics also seem different at Daytona. We dirty Nascar race with high boost and draft but it feels like drafting with other cars is now faster. I usually don't get to pay attention to lap times but I think they were showing slightly quicker than normal. It would be great if someone who uses normal settings would confirm what they see or feel. Only time will tell if my observations are accurate or if it was just the room lagging.

Edit: My race BGM was set to zero and my Race Sound Effects set to 30. I need to turn the effects up now.

Nobody cares about Arcade Mode.

At this stage in its lifespan, GT5 is all about racing online with leagues and your friends. Seasonal Events as well, but to a much lesser extent.

All updates should be focused towards online stability and fixing overall game bugs such as the music screwing up and the mindless AI.

DLC is also important but we won't be getting any until AT LEAST July now.

I miss those updates and those news in the news section , why i'm having a problem with the updates ???? its now 23% and its saying that i need 33 minutes to finish .

server under pressure ? maybe
 
I find it a bit rubbish that the Max amount of Pictures you can Share on the GT PhotoStream & Share with your Friends is limited to only 8, Maybe 16 Seems a bit more fair...

I care about arcade mode more than about online mode or the seasonals!

Not everyone think the same way you do!

And unfortunately we (Buttkicker users) can't use a 7.1 system with multi sound outputs!!! I was using the RCA audio jacks when I had a 5.1 system. Now that I have 7.1, SONY is pissing me off about something that should not be.

I understand that PD wants to further simulate car sounds, which is a good thing. But
They are forgetting the sense of touch. We need to feel sounds through a sub and not just hear them.

Calvin, some people obviously care about Arcade Mode.

Just did a test myself with the C63 AMG (FR), only have sound coming from the subwoofer and the 2 front speakers, no sound at all coming from the back speakers. Tried small theatre and living room both the same.

Maybe it's my settings, maybe it's 2.06?
Anyone else notice a difference?

Large Theatre! Thats where the sound is at.

Arcade is GREAT, u want similar opponents enter race w CH/CM/CS. Problem solved.

I can't wait to come home and try sound setting, will be very unhappy if above is true.

I agree, they don't.

But the majority of players don't play Arcade Mode, they play GT Mode or online.

Catering to the majority is usually the way things work.

I understand some do, Dave. But you know as well as I that PD's priorities don't lie there. This is 2012, not 2002. Online is king. :)

Which also explains the disappearance of LAN mode.

Love the podcast BTW!

I also love to race with my daughter when she is sitting in the chair next to me on the same screen. Online doesn't give the feeling of popcorn being thrown at you when your kid razzes you :p

Thanks, man! Episode 3 is in the works but we're on a little break at the moment.

And yeah, I miss 2-player split-screen with my mates. Telling your friend that they suck in person is a lot more fun (and dangerous) than it is in real-life! :lol:
 
Sounds are ruined so far. Haven't tried it with the stereo yet but through the TV its noticeably worse. 👎 PD
 
The size of the update might be the inclusion of the GT Academy cars, since along with the update more info was given about the cars.

Hi guys.

I´ve got a "normal" 5.1 setup hooked with a Yamaha RXV sinto. I´ll try at home when I came back from work, but I wouldn´t state "Sounds are ruined...." trying only with the TV speakers....

Just think about it....

¿Have anyone tried the MR cars?
