I'm surprised nobody created a dedicated thread for this yet. (Did a quick search, if there's already one, please close this)...

Well... after 2.06 my experience with GT5 changed completely. Sports tires grip feels adequate (less grip, more realistic... don't have to use comfort tires on some cars for realistic grip levels) and behave more similar to Comfort Tires... Well, I feel that the physics had their parameters "expanded"... everything is more pronounced and easy to feel.

For the first time I can feel lateral grip working on GT5 working well and in some cars, specialy stock ones you can even feel like the tires "bend" on some corners... I'm not physics specialist and I use DS3. But if I can feel this, I really want to read what you, pro users and wheel users can say about it.

It cannot be just me that feel those changes. I'm sure it's not placebo.

Plus... with that, I'm having a blast on A-Spec... of course, using adequate cars... I'll paste here something I said on some AI thread:

"Just had a blast on A-Spec. Tuning Car Battle, Suzuka... used a fully tuned 350Z with Sports Medium tires.

Finished 9th because I crashed when I was 4th on 3rd lap.

I've had the HKS Lancer pissing me off in the battle for 4th place... we changed positions 4 times...

Had similar scenario on La Festa Cavallino with stock F430."

On this last race at Suzuka, I crashed on that long left corner, before the last chicane (sorry, cant remember its name) because I experienced snap oversteer... This was very rare before and now I think it's happening more often...

Again, I'm not physics specialist, and I play with DS3, but it'll be interesting to talk about! :)

tbh, I think you're fooling yourself. I haven't noticed any physics change at all.

Is this the latest update number? If so I'm not sure if changes were made. However usually there is. I used to tune cars and I could almost do anything and they would improve. Dampers 6 all around and no questions were asked the cars would just be better. More recent updates have changed this drastically tho. I change one thing it effects something else. A lot harder making things perfect and even when you do get it just right you still need to be able to drive really well. So yes your right, but I am not sure if it changed again this update so possible placebo.

I have a feeling he may be right. I was in the middle of doing timed sessions comparing brake mods for the g27. Immediately after 2.06 my lap times on my sport soft combo increased by about 1 second and my racing soft combo times went down by a second.

I think maybe the right word is not physics... maybe just the tire grip levels were tweaked...

I was doing time trials immediately before and after, and noticed no appreciable difference. My Cobra at Spa felt the same, with only a few hundredths difference, which to me is negligible.

If you're on a wheel then yes there were changes. Snow tracks feel like they almost got a total overhaul!

Don't believe me? I already tested a few of those notoriously bad cars and found several to have some improvements. Try driving the Triumph Spitfire on Eiger Nordwand Short Track, it's like a totally new car!👍

Feels the same to me.
My V12 Vanquish with ss tires got same times around suzuka circuit. So I doubt theres actually less or more grip.
I use DFGT.The Ford GT does feel a bit grippier but then again I did some more tuning to it so I cant say if it was from the update or not.

I don't know about the physics but the wheel (DFGT) seems to "feel" better somehow.

These changes for the DFGT were announced. The dead spot at 12 o'clock is pretty much gone, which makes the steering more responsive and accurate in my opinion. Before you had to turn it a few degrees before the car responded, now it responds to the slightest input. The force feedback was also improved. For some who are real "feel" drivers like me, this might help lower lap times as you'll be able to "feel" the car better than before.

I think maybe it now feels different for the DS3 users...

I also use a DS3, and there's something different. Braking feels different, some of my tuned cars now have a tendency to oversteer in slow to moderate corners, and general balance during fast corners also changed.

Can't say for sure if it's about lateral grip or weight shifting during braking and cornering, but there is something different, for sure. Braking points have changed for me in the Nurburgring and in La Sarthe. Porsche curves come to mind. Also, the U turn in Madrid.

By the way, the rumble also feels different for the DS3.

To me DS3 user it feels like:

Tires are less grippy
Weight Transfer more pronounced
ABS=0 is more fluid and has a higher lock threshold.
Some type of Track Temperature effect @ Nurb/Sarthe at dawn(colder road/moist)

I've noticed the rear is much more likely to step out on you if you trail brake too hard into a corner without ABS as well. 👍

I believe you man. Something is defiantly different I have to drive a lot cleaner or I will pay the price. The tires and the feedback feel a lot better. Weight transfer feel more noticeable, ABS off feels much better with more play in the brakes. Understeer feels better and the road feeling is better.
I love my Fanatec wheel.

Something has changed because I've beat a record that took me 20 or so laps in 2 laps by nearly half a second. It seems slightly easier to me

Yes. This is why I was losing a second on sport softs with no abs.

DS3 user here and to me......

Understeer seems to be more pronounced across the board.
Vibration/rumble feature feels better to me. More of a feel/connection to the car.
Weight transfer/balance has more of an affect.
More grip on lower grade tires, as long as you're smoother with input, weight/balance transfer.
Overall, to me, it feels like GT Academy 2012.

What I noticed in a race yesterday is that dirty tyre grip seems lower. We did a race on Racing Hards, i went wide on a few corners and picked up some dirt. The following braking maneuvers had me going straight into a understeer skid. My Braking points stayed the same, on clean tyres the turn ins where no problem, on dirty tyres the car just wen straight. Personally a change I like, it just caught me very off guard in that race, causing many seconds to be lost.

Just done some online races at 550pp for the 1st time since the update. Cars I used were Ferrari 458, Ferrari 430 Scuderia and BMW M3 CSL. Out of all of them the 458 felt the best but the M3 felt a lot more twitchy and was oversteering into corners where it never ever did before and as for the 430 it just felt full of understeer and i actualy had to exit practice to check if i was using racing softs or still had them on sports hard! I'm by no means the greatest driver but there is a marked difference and my lap times have tumbled.
