Since the newest update, has your gameplay enjoyment improved, deteriorated, or you don`t see a difference?

It's deteriorated greatly. The transmission whine has gone up, the servers have gone to hell, and if I get black screened one more time I'm gonna go ape.

In other words, it's very bad. :yuck:

Much better despite still being full of bugs. The new tyre wear has improved the online experience a lot and I don't see black screens as long as I play in rooms that have a properly connected host. The three new cars are great additions too. The HSV actually adds more than just the car, it has also made the Super GT 500 line-up feel more varied by adding just a single car. The BRZ is just what people driving a repainted WR Blue GT 86 and FR-S needed. The GT-R gives us an idea of what Yamauchi has endured in order to give us the best virtual Nürburgring experience out there. All in all a great patch.

I haven't had a chance to try the update much, so I can't weigh in too strongly, but I think overall this is a good update. If the physics has improved, then I am happy, as that is one of the most important things for me. I'm not too thrilled about the DLC, especially as it seems they haven't gotten it quite right (especially the sound, apparently). I am quite happy that we can now paint the 2CV, even though it's not exactly a groundbreaking addition.

I haven't had a chance to go online so I can't comment on the connection stability. The changed tire wear and new options online are both welcome to me, as any additional realism always is.

So overall I'm happy with it, though that could change as I get more time with it. Somehow I doubt that though.

Really haven't noticed the difference, Ive done 1 endurance race, everything went well, rained the whole time though. So tire wear wasn't affected much.

Yes I went ape **** when i black screen`d while exiting the pits.

Do some of you actually think that the increased frequency of the occasional black screen overshadows the gameplay improvements, fixes and new cars? I agree that stability issues are annoying but let's at least appreciate the bright side of this update.

Not seeing a difference, reason being I only started playing again this past weekend after a 2-yr hiatus, but from the sound of things now is the 'bad' part, once the fixes are out things should only get better I imagine.

By then hopefully I'll be back up to speed and can fully enjoy GT5.

I'm mostly disappointed with the clutch "adjustment" made in 2.08. Other than that though, I'm neutral.

I`ve had a lot of blackscreens and I`ve had to shut the game down twice to reset.
And there`s a new funny(not) sound when you leave the garage and settings mode on-line.
And what`s with the disabled collisions thing, it was hard enough to know when there was penalty before, now cars are like shadows.
But I do like the BRZ and the Honda, could`ve lived without the Academy GT-R.

I have to wonder if the online disconnects are caused by more GT5 Internet traffic caused by interest in the new cars and update.

I am sorry but how can you "enjoy" the improved physics when you are constantly being disconnected and glitching?

Very disappointed thus far myself!!

Blame your broadband connection, not the update/game.

Not going to buy that excuse. Fiber to the house cat. 6 cable to the ps3. Tested and certified. Sony has the problem not me. The only game/thing we have any issues with whatsoever.

Before the update I would have issues occasionally.

After the update many times every evening. Coincidence, I think not.

i find the clutch adjustment a pain when trying to drift, under normal driving its fine tho

2.08 sucks...

Only good things are RS tyres last longer, so they can now be utilised in endurance racing.

Sometimes I can now hear my car at start of race - though I still can't hear my car 100% of the time, meaning having to look at rev counter / gears.. which sucks, especially if you in very close racing with cars all around as it's inevitable you make a mistake and.............carnage.

Yes 100% it does - especially for those in organised series / leagues and championships.

How can it be that, that hasn't changed and no other games are affected. I don't have any connection or gameplay problems with Battlefield 3, but since 2.08 on GT5 - it's a nightmare.

There wasn't this problem on GT5 before 2.08...

Sorry, but it can't be internet as we've tried a number of diferent hosts, all with good cable connections, it's still the same.

2.08 = 👎

I've only tried going online 5 times since 2.08 & each time I've been disconnected. I don't even bother now. (At least no black screens so far.) IMO, the DLC is a joke for what you pay. So, 👎 from me...

My online experience hasn't changed since the update. Well, I have seen the black screen since the update but I guess it's because I joined rooms with a badly connected host. I have not had any problems as long as I stick with those I always race with who have good connections like myself.

I've got sooooo many more black screens and been involved in much more frozen rooms since the update, even when racing with my friends that has great connection. I really think it is something wrong with the 2.08 update.

A few things have upset me with the update....

First, the height adjustment. Ok, its now the correct way around, but after nearly two years of playing, people have gotten used to it and tuned accordingly. But now most of my tunes are wrecked and cars i use to use online have simply become un-drivable.

Second, Deep Forest now has penalties on the little concrete section before the bridge. Fair enough people were taking full advantage of this before the update, but now you cant even put a wheel over the curb without a penalty. Its a tight section and if your in a full lobby with penalties, someone is bound to be shoved onto it as an escape and punished

The rest however seems good. The DLC cars are ok for the prices and the disable collision works albeit feels a little soulless and like a time trial than a race.

I dont agree with this, the penalty is not as bad as you make it sound, you just have to take the corner correctly.

For me the update didnt changed much things, I'm usually playing shuffleing and the only thing that changed here was Deep Forest which I liked.

The HSV is also nice, even if I dont race GT500 cars a lot anymore.

So, the boat I was in sank in the middle of the Atlantic ocean but on the bright side I have a life vest.

Take off your rose colored glasses and see things for what they are. You can polish a turd but in the end it is still a turd. Every update that comes out brings more problems with it. This latest update is more of the same thing.

Remember last December when we had the month of black screens? Well guess what, they are back and from the sounds of it it is much worse than before. Why does this happen twice in one year? Only one company is to blame.

Also, some of you need to quit apologizing for PD. Make them take responsibility for their own product. If they are getting negative feedback then perhaps there is a good reason for it. Maybe they need to work a little harder and focus more on fixing bugs instead of adding more bugs. At this point GT Academy seems more of a priority than GT5 or GT6.

This update also contained a bug fix for the $5 Motegi DLC. A simple fix that they made us wait 3 months for. A bug that keeps occurring over and over again. You need to ask yourself why does this keep happening. I know why and that is why PD will not get another dime from me until they make things right with GT5. If a company won't make things right for its customers then I choose to vote my displeasure with my wallet.

P.S. Nielsen, I'm not just singling you out. I'm just a little frustrated with people ramming rosey, bright and happy thoughts down our throats. Clearly there are many unhappy folks and rightfully so. Looking on the bright side of things all the time isn't going to cause change. However if enough people voice their displeasure then maybe change will happen.

There are two types of people in this world. People who see the glass half empty and those that see it half full. There is enough room for both types in the world and in every forum. It is called balance.
