That was a hard hit. The sandtrap didn't arrest the speed of the car very much, either.

I wonder if that explains why on his out lap he was right up Massa's tailpipe, and the start of the next he was 15 seconds down the track...pulling out some fresh track between them...or a mistake caused by the loose wheel?

Either way, hard crash, but it doesn't sound too bad from the medical center, unless it's a bad bruise I can't see Lewis missing out. Shame he has to start 10th, this will really test his metal.

A little bit off topic, but Nick Heidfeld is a nerd. He named his son (born this saturday) Joda. Joda! Okay, it's Joda with a J, but it's still Joda! May the G-force be with him.

Very nasty crash for Hamilton there, a passenger from the moment the tyre went, can't have been a nice feeling. He'll have a fun race I fancy but it could be interesting down into Turn 1, the midpack usually barge a wheel or two with eachother.

I really hope Kimi doesn't win this one, I'd like to see Massa take or better yet, Heidfeld, but that's a longshot. I can see Massa having a good go at Alonso into Turn 1, if it works, Ferrari's might just run off into the distance never to return.

Further back, what happened to DC? Red Bull need to set their watches a wee bit better, he had no chance of starting a fast lap before the flag went out. Reminds me of Honda's strategy mishaps of 2004-2006..

Oh and congrats to Nick Heidfeld for having his second child! :)

Seems like we'll finally get to see what Hamilton can do with the car. Should be interesting to watch..

Go Kimi!

It seems like the Ferraris and McLarens are very close on this track. Again the harder tires will work better during the races. Alonso only improved by less than two tenths from the first session to the second session. First one was on the harder tires.

I'm also as surprised as Alonso that he was able to get second with such a huge mistake.

I think Hamilton's done very well with the McLaren so far, better than Alonso anyway. But we'll see how aggressive and how hard he pushes to make up places.
I still think he'll be lucky to get 4th in the race though.

Go Lewis!

On another note, anyone seen this comercial?

I enjoyed it v much

Please feel free to call me a nub if it's been posted before.

If you go to Mercedes-Benz.tv and then click on Motor & Sports, you can see it and some behind-the-scenes footage.

Who is the guy at the end? It looks kind of like Kimi, but what would he be doing in a MB commercial? Maybe I need to see a "hi-res" version or something.

well at least I got the country right. I need to stop watch stuff on this crappy old laptop. It was obvious when I watched it at Mercedes-Benz.tv.

Is it just me or does Markus Winkelhock look like the spitting image of Alex Zanardi, based on his speed I'd say circa 1999.

After looking at both Winkelhock and Zanardi's photo, yeah they do look kinda similar but thats where the similarities end.Alex's eyebrow looks more thicker than Marcus and Markus looks more white. Both start F1 at different seasons as well.So i don't know what else to compare with them (that both actually had a bad season in F1,maybe....)

Hamilton passed fit!
Great news.
And that ad made me laugh quite abit when i saw that on ITV, and watching that behind the scene's footage on Mercedes-Benz.tv is great. Hamilton seems to have an eye on that lady that walks accross the road in the ad ;)

Ah wow, I'm so glad I'm recording this. Shame for Hamilton, he was doing so well until he clipped that BMW. Hopefully all the pitstops will allow him to jump some places. :indiff:

Winkelhock leading, because he started from the pits!

Everyone's falling off the track. :(

Restart anybody?

REDFLAG, shame, Winkelhock may get a point or two today if his car doesnt vaporise

First chance I get, that's allll getting uploaded. My only regret is that I forgot Murray Walker was doing the Five Live commentary. :dunce:

That was the best four laps of F1 racing I've ever seen... XD

Varsha: And now it's a beautiful day at the Nurburgring! Classic.

More rain could be imminent though. Pit stop fiesta ftw.

Edit: Apparently, FIA Race Control says... restart in ten minutes...

TORRENTIAL BIBLICAL FLOOD in 12 minutes.

This is hilarious... XD

Now what the hell was that Hamilton thing? The guy drives off the track together with four other drivers but still he's the only one to be picked out after a few minutes and the others are left there? Nürburgring = Germany = Mercedes = any means used. Thanks a damn big lot. :grumpy:

What a mess. I'm really rooting for M.WH, 'cause choosing to start from the pits was genous.

Also, did you notice that Ron Dennis was at the back of the grid, surveying Hamiltons car, not giving a crap about Alonso. The spainiard might have some truth in his stories about how Ron Dennis is biased toward Hammy.
