Well, the dryness was a disappointment, but otherwise a fine session. I have to say, Q2 was completely awesome. From Alonso's lone engine singing at the start of the session, to Hamilton's powerslide through Loew's - very cool stuff.

Massa P1 what a good run hes been having to put it up like that.

So Ferrari 1-2 and Mclaren 3-4, I really really love knockout qualifying.

I remember how awful one car was years back and this makes it so exciting for everybody.

I guess Massa on the pole was somewhat surprising. I hope he can win this race. 👍

Nelsinho's performance isn't improving at all, it must be really frustrating for him.

Tenner says Massa will be the first of the Top 4 to pit.

I have to say that was definatley one of them ore exciting quali sessions this season, the onboard footage is, as always at Monaco, awesome. Watching Massa throw the car through Casino with his foot down and opposite lock was jaw dropping. DC's crash reminded me alot of Button's in '04 (I think), thankfully he got off alot lighter!

If there is rain tomorrow, I'm looking at either Kimi or Heikki for the win, Massa and Hamilton just seem too reckless through the turns and whilst the cars appear to stick in the dry, they wouldn't have a hope in hell if the track was damp.

Oh and finally, Piquet's Formula 1 career looks to be falling apart faster and faster with every session.

God damn it, Massa! I can't stand that guy!:grumpy:

Let me guess, because he's one of the best? ;)

Nice drive by Massa, Ferrari have once again the edge over every single team, although I'm interested to see what Hamilton will do tomorrow... Also, Mclaren seem to have closed the gap with BMW again as only Kubica did a good job, where the hell was Heidfeld? He's been losing from his teammate the whole season now...

Great job by Rosberg, but I was surprised to see Jarno "only" in 9th, I really hope they aren't losing their edge over RBR and Williams now...

Hehe - it was amusing how happy Massa is with his podium after saying he hates the course.

Heidfeld struggled with tyre-tempratures, especially in the rather-cold Monaco we had now, and with some traffic. As for McLaren, they were right up there with Ferrari for most of the weekend - and who knows how each team has their cars set up for the expected rain tomorrow. Or fuel-loads - the Ferrari are not as high-fueled as they were in previous weekends.

Fabulous driving by Massa! Anyone but Hamilton for the win. Massa has become his own man... and I like it. I feel badly for Fernando Alonso. He fights the good fight with a car that is a pittance of what he needs, no wonder Piquet struggles. Heidfeld however, has no such excuse. I agree, one of the better qualifying sessions this season. Enjoy the Grand Prix, gentlemen.

Well...yes and no. I like Hamilton, and it difficult to find flaws in his driving, but then again my favourite is Vettel. I just don't like Massa because he's always doing well but can't seem to win the title or get on the podium and the ends of the seasons.

I'M GONNA BE FURIOUS IF HE WINS!!!:grumpy::grumpy::mad::mad:

EDIT: I must have done something wrong when narrowing down the quote. :dunce:

Don't roll your eyes at me, sweetness! I suppose you like the 'choker'... He won't win the WDC this year either. Or be the youngest ever. He should win while he can, if he can, before Alonso finds a car. He's rid of Alonso and has got worse. Aight?

Please watch the tone and don't act surprised if someone replies to a comment that was rather obviously designed to get a reaction. The 'sweetness' comment is out of line and you know it, start an argument when one is not needed and I will put on the 'mod' hat.

You eagerness to defend Alonso has already earned you a warning (and that may I remind you was also in an F1 race discussion thread), please keep that warning in mind.

Keep it civil and keep it respectful for all the drivers.

Scaff

A lot of rain this morning on the track, the Porsche Supercup had to start from behind the safety car...

We might be in for some spectacular racing today folks

Monaco + Rain = Perfect action-filled races.

And hopefully we finally get to see who's the best and most experienced to keep all those horses under controll in the rain with no traction controll 👍

Poor DC gets a 5 place grid penalty because he had to change the gearbox after his shunt.

mclaren has tire problems again.

the cars are sliding all over the place!

edit: alanso F's up his right rear tire. DC and Bourdais are out after a wreck!
