I dont get what some of you are trying to say, moaning to people that are waiting for further updates. Saying things like adding to GT5P will delay GT5 further, so basically some of you are happy enough to wait for a full year now with no further updates.

Prologue has many failures imo that still need fixed like the penalty system, fastest laptimes and much better stats during races. Voice chat, personal soundtracks and of course the much cried for private lobbies which may never come till the full game. Yes we cant expect everything that should be in the full game but someone please inform me how in a year of GT5P has the game improved from an online aspect or game enhancing way outside of the added cars? My point is not that much has been improved for general play mechanics.

Ideal:
Qualifing Rounds
Pit Stops
Upto 10+ laps
Increased control of PP settings
Mini Photo Mode
Replay Save Feature For Online Races

The other thing...
To the people here like myself awaiting the "damage update" they are waiting because weve been told it's coming to GT5P. Yes it is very unlikely that it will come before Christmas or even by the end of the year but weve been told it could be ready by fall.

Lets remember that as for car models, the majority of these would have been done months and months ago as would the majority of tracks. Anyone that followed the development of FM2 would of got a bit of an insight to how such games are developed from the website that they had. GT5P hasnt really developed that much within a year, yes the GT-TV system which is slow and not very interesting outside of them making extra money with its facilities but to increase a racing games enjoyment it isnt a big factor.

Kaz also has said in several interviews that the "Games Pillars" need to be in place and working eg 1080/ 16 cars / 60 FPS .
The intergration of "HOME" has to be one of these pillars. As for damage it is a major update as it has to have totally reworked physics etc but its is doubtfull it is one of the main pillars of the game
unless it's physics offer something that other racing games with damage havnt done. If anything the damage is more than likely going to be so overrated when it does appear.

Rumours also continue for "HOME" to release by approx the 20th Dec and perhaps this has to happen before the next planned update. For all we know it's maybe "HOME" thats been holding things up and we could see some form of GT5P and "HOME" interaction in the New Year. It does make sense that they would have some form of Beta testing in amalgamating GT within "HOME" tested on a world wide scale.

So, HO HO HO guys and I guess time will tell...

Well we are trying to moan about their moaning :-). But seriously I would also like to get updates for gt5p, but you don't see me writing on this forum, i want update, pd is not working, they promised, etc. kids stuff. we need to give them constructive criticism, like yours above instead of demanding new cars, or tracks.

I say that its unrealistic to ask for more (even thought it was promised) then have what you asked for to be bugged if it came out , then cry because its broken , expect PD to fix those bugs thats in GT5P and then expect PD to have GT5 "Full" ready next year. That would mean that you want to put more work on the PD team. As K Y stated early this year that they were focusing on GT5P and GT5 was put on hold until GT5P was up to their standards. Or did you guys forget that he said that.

All other considerations aside, the fact is we paid good money for this "game" (demo?). In my case, £25 on the day it was released... for that I expect a certain ammount of replayability.

Lets assume for a minute that not eveyone in the gaming world is a die hard GT fan and these people will require romancing on their first date. What we've ended up with instead is a quick grope and a phone number, relatively speaking. If GT5P is going to measure up as more than just a glorified demo, lets have dinner and dancing before you start waving your tongue around... we are not a cheap date and we have expectations.

£25s worth to be exact.

If weighed up against the supposed full content of GT5, we've actually received about £1.28 so far. Its time to cough up PD, I want my turkey early this year.

I realy cant see why you are upset. we already have more cars and better interface than most full racing sims available for the PS3 at a higher price. Did you pay full price (as in the price of a full game?) for this? No. So should you get the full game? No.

I didn't say I was upset, although I'm slightly upset by your inference :)

Full games cost £40 ~, yes? So I expect more than half of a full game content. Which by my maths is more than a handful of cars, only half of which are any fun, and a damned site more than 6 tracks with a couple of variations.

Congrats on not finding any of my post amusing though. :)

No ammount of kissing PD's bumhole is going to change the fact that they are a game producing company and we are the customers. Its their job to keep us happy, not the other way around.

Edit the second: I previously stated in another thread a while back that I was happy to be drip fed by PD 'til the full game arrives. Drip feeding requires a drip that drips. This one is either blocked or somebody's fooling around with the tap.

Its hard to find a post like your previous post funny when it was posted in such a serious manner. Also You are still getting more than most companies would give you at the price you paid for Prologue and 70 cars is a whole lot more than a handful of cars.

I have a flag that says "humour" on it but you can't see it from there unfortunately.

I am still waving the flag as I type:

I had a dream the other night that my boss bought a new fleet of company cars. Beauty! says I, and picks up the keys to a black Evo X

"One sec" quoth the man in charge, "we haven't got insurance yet so you'll have to stay in the car park"

No worries, the car park is enormous....

6 months later, I drive round the car park and round and round the car park. I've driven round the car park at least 500 times in every car in the fleet.

So I get back in my crappy 18 year old XR4x4 and roar off into the sunset to Big$Rich's Wild West Show.

I say that its unrealistic to ask for more (even thought it was promised) That would mean that you want to put more work on the PD team. As K Y stated early this year that they were focusing on GT5P and GT5 was put on hold until GT5P was up to their standards. Or did you guys forget that he said that.

Although this swings two ways. Do you think every comment a person says to a games journo/interview should be expected to be regarded as an offical comment relating to the release, particulary when this contradicts things they have said in the past?

Come now with a dev team of over 100+ strong I somehow think GT5P will see more. GT5P will continue to be used to promote the GT franchise and it will have updates, it only makes sense to use the current platform in place already sold to millions of people to introduce a sample more of whats to come in GT5.

Untill they come out and officialy say GT5P is complete then sorry Im going to believe in what I think is likely to happen.

As for people here also moaning about the GT5 team wasting resources, wind your necks in.

Spec III didnt have to have 3 new cars, that was wasting resources, oh but wait they were probably paid to promote those cars, oh yeah money talks guys..

Having special versions of the current GT5P created for race or promo events like the "Nurburgring" should also then been deemed as wasting resources then shouldnt it, but they have done it. So I would say this is proof that doing such things like adding cars/tracks isnt that hard or indeed time consuming. What is however is that ensuring when you do an update to GT5P on a PSN scale is that it has the new content in place and it doesnt effect older installs of the game and is properly tested via Sony and PSN.

The logical thing to understand is that first off we dont even know what state the code is in Prologue compared to the stage they are at now but id bet its not the same. The people in charge of different divisions within the game more than likely continue to update the work they are on and then have it all go through the bug testing phase. If GT5 is to arrive by Summer+ 09 then its more than likely that it's at least 70% complete and the games engine should be about finished with updates now to content, tracks, cars and games playing features all to be added/tested and approaching that bug phase for playtesting. Networking is also an area and of course HOME that no doubt is going to give them alot of headaches.

I shall comment no more today :)

This isnt an argumentive post...

Youve given an opinion, others have given theirs.
I'd agree you cant argue that Prologue doesnt offer good value.
Although the lack of gameplaying differences to the core online action in a year is a little poor.
It's easy to understand some peoples frustration. However the "Performance Tunning" helped to add to this but indeed little else has....

It's as foolish perhaps for some of us including me to speculate but at the same time it's as foolish for others like yourself to say "No More" content or updates will be coming. Like I said that's also a presumption and until as such time that this has been confirmed then were all just floating ideas and possibilities and theirs nothing wrong for debate on that.

I wasnt trying to argue myself, Also I didnt mean to say there WONT be any more updates. I am meaning to say that there might not be any more updates and if not I dont care. I can hold on until GT5 is released. After all I have Forza 2 to keep me going until then.

That's just like that list what I meant by saying I'd like to PD test new features in Prologue... also online would need more options. There is just not enough variation on Expert-events.

They have many times said that they want GT5 to be perfect... how they think they will do that without us, 'hardcore-fans', testing those things and giving feedback?

Those who blindly believe PD knows what they are doing, and giving time to them gives perfect Final Game... remember few failures what we have/had in GT5P. Do you think same kind of 'accidents' wont be in full version without testing things by users.

- 2 and 3 lap races.
- No tyrewear
- Stupid penalties
- Short cutting because curbs are too 'low'
- Low PP-cars front of grid
- RBE in expert races
- AWD cars are unbeaten with same PP's (power/weight) than RWD's
- Setups disappeared after leaving online
- etc etc...

.

They can easily make GT5 perfect by leaving us test it and patch any bugs in the full game:rolleyes:. That is where PSN come in to play. If the game needs patching then we can download and patch the game. Also I dont believe that the final game will be perfect but thank god I can download patches to fix any prorblems that occur.

Do you really think that they don't have testers for online etc. also true fans like us!?

No game will ever be perfect no matter what PD say about gt5. there will always be some glitches, bug but fortunately we have internet and updates

If they have testers, those idiots should be fired!

True fans are best and cheapest way to do testing.

I agree with you but how to distinct true fans from people who just wants to see the game without properly testing it, and submitting constructive criticism.

I have to back up Vagabond Angel

I think that PD can't do anything at the moment aslong as we don't have HOME,
then there will be an update (but with what??? probably private rooms, hopely much more!)

Taking contact to many this kind of communitys, and asking opinions. Creating polls, answering what should be, what should change, giving 'test-missions', etc etc... and all this free! Thousands and thousands free employees from whole world.

If they dont want every noob taking a part to their testing, they could ask Moderators to find out 'true-skilled testgroup'. Even I could list 20 reliable feedback-giver in a minute.

I agree with mc959. I think there is more to GT5P Spec III and that it will be released around the same time as the open beta of Home. As open beta Home looks like it will appear in the next couple of weeks I think there is a GT5P Christmas present coming for us all. Certainly, within the Home Beta GT5P has more than its fair share of adverts in comparison to its profile amongst the general (i.e. not GT enthusiasts) PS gaming community.

I looked but couldnt find a video interview I used to have.

It was with a couple of the developers and they showed/exlained a bit of the intergration with HOME. Showed the Home logo within the games menu etc.

Anyone know the one?

Ok... but wasn't that just the biggest reason why everything always delays and delays, that they want it to be perfect?

If that patching would be their strategy, dont they should release GT5 then immediately, and give us patches and updates everytime they got something new ready. If they will release Japan-version late summer, they have it almost ready then, right?

Sony just gave news about will firing over 10 000 people... that is sad. I'm sorry for everyone who is suffering cause this d4mn business depression.

(this maybe will put PD to release GT5 soon as possible, and use that patching-strategy to make it perfect later. That would be ok to me. I'm racer, not tourist.)

You are just being unrealistic and silly. You are the ype of person who wnats everything yesterday.

You are just being unrealistic and silly. You are the ype of person who wnats everything yesterday.

There is nothing unrealistic or silly, to expect new version of game sooner than looks PD can do it. I'm sure there have been done much more harder games much sooner than this... and cause I'm being in thoughts it would be released in this year, I just wanted to know what is the problem. If they even would give decent info about their progressing, it would be nice... and cause so many is frustrated, they should give some tiny pieces more to Prologue, so we would not moan all the times.

They cant have so much rush, that it would be impossible to add more different kind of expert-events with different PP-restrictions? Why cant there be like 6 different Expert-events, 500-750PP, so we would not need so badly privaterooms, cause it would be easier to match friends to same grid.

Yes you are being silly and unrealistic about PD releasing GT5 full now for us to test and them to patch. The forum would be full of people complaining that the game is very buggy and unfinished and they would be wanting their money back.

Well, at first I was moaning about they should give us some new features to Prologue for testing... just for that, when full version comes, we would been found all those bugs so they dont need to patch that Final Version.

You said: 'They can easily make GT5 perfect by leaving us test it and patch any bugs in the full game'

That does not make any sense with your later post, or I'm just silly.

...I was just mindgaming your sayings about they can patch it to being perfect. I would be very happy to play Prologue next year, if I have knowledge that they will test many Full Version features with us. But if they keep events as poor like they have been late months, I will update my Mac G4, and join to Iracing or Race07.

Quite right. 👍

That one is just a daft idea I'm afraid Aki... no-one wants to buy something half done just for the sake of getting it early. Well with the obvious exception of yourself of course :)

Its totally pointless talking to you. All you do is take what I say and throw it back at me.

I was just moaning about more features to Prologue, what will come to Full Version... just because we could make sure they work, so everybody would not have reason to moan about bugs then in GT5.

Steve himself said PD can patch Full Version if there is bugs.
