:D yeah we saw that last year at Monza this time it wasn't his fault though.

Well it wasn't entirely his fault but he certainly can't point a finger at Webber and blame him for the crash. Hamilton was too eager to pass and paid the price. Well so was Webber anyway :D

Wow, what an incredible race! Not quite the result I was hoping for, though.

The fault was 100% Webbers.

Agreed... Lewis had little chance of going past Alonso - Webber would never have been able to... in fact - he'd've been better off trying to duck underneath them when Alonso goes deep to hold Lewis off.

Do i need glasses or did you say webber is not responsible?

Webber is totally responsible, he braked way to late, no way he was going to make that corner 👎

Huh why?

It was totally Webber's fault that he crashed into the back of Hamilton, He didn't do anything wrong and suddenly he's got a Red Bull in the back of him.

Hope Hulkenburg is okay after Kobayashi slammed into the side of him. That did look a nasty impact but, no fault with Kobi.

Indeed, reminded me of sato / heidfeld crash in austia's a1 ring 2001.
Hopefully Nico H. will get some good points soon. :/

Agreed - that looked horrible...

I assume we'd've heard if there was any problem with either of them.

Webber certainly is responsible, I just mean he's not entirely responsible. It only happened because Hamilton forced a hopeless pass and that's why I'm not really blaming one of them for the crash, but both.

Biggest loser of this race will be Sebastian Vettel... for whom a pole position to victory has been denied a second time by mechanical problems. Strangely, Mark Webber has run (mechanical) fault-free races both times. Could Kimi's Kurse have found a new host? Be afraid... be very afraid.

That's funny because I was thinking the exact same thing

Great race, very exiting. Now all those people saying Bahrain was boring will keep their mouths shut now. It had me biting my fingernails all race. Now, it's 3AM, so i'm going to bed.

I'd like to give a shout to Jaime Alguersari.

Had the seven time world champion behind him and then kept him there, made Schumacher drive around him. Okay, he might not pick up a point but full respect to the youngster

This. 👍

Grinning from ear to ear everytime I'd see his name on the ticker, stuck behind Alguersuari, lap after lap. It's no secret I never liked the man, so seeing some poor results out of him really makes me happy.

Lewis tried to pull around the outside of Alonso... no space at all... and then Alonso locks up his brakes and goes wide... forcing Lewis to slow way... waaaaaay... down... when you suddenly have a car in front of you going some fifty to sixty klicks slower than you expect them to, you don't really have much time to react.

Now the first incident... that was really stupid... did they collide on the same corner both times? It looks like it. Maybe they should rename it Webber's Shunt...

It's amazing how clean Button managed to keep it despite all that was going on around him at the start of the race... and how he managed to keep the car in one piece despite sliding around on those slicks in wet conditions.

Couldn't agree with you more.

Bahrain got right under my nose with the lack of passing that there was there.

This circuit, there must have been at least a dozen passes on the track, if not more and people were racing each other hard.

Also, just seen the end of the show where they show the highlights and they are playing Guns 'n' Roses - Paradise City! Could that be an omen?

drive of the day belongs to kubica. after him was button, even though button won, kubica was impressive to save his tires that long and hold 2nd place from massa. even if it is diffuser help.

Exiting becuase of the rain and circuit and definitely not because of new regulations and rules.

Too bad for Schumi who could easily be standing on the podium if Button wouldn't hit Alonso in first corner.

Also too bad for Vettel.

Don't think so - I think the 2nd one was towards the end of the lap - whereas the first one was at 3?

Perhaps Webber was put off by Lewis' flashing light!!!

That was Alonso driving into Button actually...

I think what he is on about is when Webber went into the corner a little too deep and he outbraked himself. They almost hit but not quite

Congrats to Button, Kubica and Massa.

Great fight between Kubica and Hamilton won by Kubica :) later in the race nice defence from Kubica against Massa, no errors from Robert and good start, his bad luck was off for this race and he didn't get involved in start traffic for the first time since a very long time.

Still hoping for MSC to find his spot in top 3...:sly:

They did. But the damage to Lewis's front wing actually made him faster...

I feel all of you got it wrong. It wasn't a hopeless pass by Hamilton, neither was it Webber just slamming into Hamilton. In my view it was just a chain of events; Alonso locking up his brakes in the inside, making Hamilton come to his outside. Meanwhile, Webber was at the rear of all this, there's no way he could've seen that Alonso locked up and thus slowing down in the inside. By the time he did see he had to slow down, it was too late.

I think you're right - having seen the incident several times, I don't see that Webber could have avoided it. The real problem is that Hamilton couldn't get passed a slow Alonso, despite being much quicker - nigh on 3s a lap quicker - and that says alot about the problem even the best drivers have passing. Webber has apologised anyway, which is probably more than he needs to do.

Who cares what actually made the race exciting, as long as it actually was, that's all that matters.

That's pretty much how I see it. It's unfortunate for both of them, they both deserved to finish a bit better.

Why? Bahrain was boring. The fact Australia was more interesting doesn't teleport backwards through time two weeks and unboring Bahrain...

Pretty obvious that Kubica deserves a top tier car. His defence was magnificent, and he basically didn't make a single error.
We saw what he could do with a great car 2 seasons ago, when he was leading the standings after half the season,
and hopefully Renault will work even more on improving his car. Luckely that BMW debacle is over for him.
Someone with that talent, and who can stay cool under all that pressure, deserves much more.
Great decision by Button aswell, beautiful victory.
More of the same next week plz.

I find it amazing how well Button managed to preserve his slicks, driving somewhat 50 laps on them. He really showed what it means to be easy on the tires. Hamilton is way at the other end of the scale; He came in for a new set, beat the living daylight out of them and by the end he caught up with Alonso, he was complaining over the radio of extreme tire wear.

I feel kind of bad for De la Rosa though, I really thought he was going to at least take that last point, but all of a sudden he got passed by four cars. Fantastic job by Kubica though, get this man back in a top car already! Oh, and I just realized RBR's gap with Ferrari just now: 70 points for Ferrari against RBR's 18 points. They better fix their issues if they want to close that gap...

Great race, was quite exciting. Alonso did a great job, though, 4th place was more than what could be expected, especially after Button run into him and he ended up in the last position. He would've won if Button hadn't run into him. :irked:
