Just saw the Quali replay, and wow, Webber! Anyone else thinks he's still holding that incident near and dear?

Disappointed with Schums, fantastic result for di Resta, Kobayashi, and Maldonado. F150 seems to have found some speed and grip finally, and the tech regs don't really appear to have affected anyone....much at all. If only Rosberg could edge the win, that for me, would be race/event of the year.

Well, race starts in 3 hours and its almost 4 AM,I will miss it(well,I'll see the replay on iplayer afterwards),so:

hopes:
>McLaren getting 1 and 3-4(being the first button and second Hamilton).
>Ferrari finishing within the first 6 positions
>RB getting between the first 8(Webber outperforming Vettel, maybe Webber getting 2nd place)
>Kobayashi between the first 8 positions

Expectations:
>RB getting 1st and 2nd or third(depending on the team performance and Webber's luck,I'm seeing Vettel wining over Webber, due to better team assistance or luck)
>Ferrari getting Alonso on 2nd,perhaps 3rd place, Massa getting 8th or 9th
>McLaren with one driver out(probably Hamilton if he looses his nerves),and button getting on 4th to 6th position.
>Kobayashi seeing 8th place(it can happen)

I hope more than I expect,I just want either Button or Webber to win this one.

Well BBC weather says overcast white cloud all afternoon, but with the english weather the heavens could open anytime anywhere!

Looking pretty sunny to me fellas. Few big clouds on the horizon though, I think it might rain at some point in the race but not for long.

Apparently yesterday's GP2 race was run with a rolling start, due to the blue sky and damp track conditions

Come on Di Resta! TOP 5 Finish!...heh, sorry i'm a bit too excited about this race.

 Race is in an hour and a half right? I'm still in bed.
It only half 11 now, maybe get an extra half hour out of this.

Ehhhh i hope McLaren wins or at least gets pole position in this race. Hamilton better not be a turd and loose his cool and crash into everything >:|. All my rage. Race starts in about an hour, pretty pump for it too since me and a couple friends just finished 40laps around Cote'd Azur with our F1's car. Great racing indeed. Specially when it's clean and fun. I hope the race is exciting as well!

So. The teams have failed to come to an agreement on OTBDs to restore the pre-Silverstone regulations. Ferrari and Sauber refused to sign up. I find this very interesting:

- Cosworth have made their position known since Barcelona. Through Hispania, they brought the OTBDs to everyone's attention.
- Renault showed their hand when Christian Horner and Martin Whitmarsh went three rounds over it this weekend.
- Mercedes, likewise, have taken a stance when Horner and Whitmarsh had their little spat.

But in all of this, Ferrari have not said a word. The most vocal team in the sport, and they haven't done anything for the past six weeks. But they were the ones who did not agree with the proposed regulations. So the question has to be asked: what are they up to?

coverage 12:10 BST.
Weather forecast, just cloudy.
I suppose Ferrari don't have to say anything or add to the discussion, they can just vote to say yes or no.

Me and my brother always do predictions. Anyway I said Mark Webber to get pole and he did which is good. Predicted pole time would be about 1:30.246 and thought there would be no chance after it started raining but surprised to see the times go down again. I expected McLaren to be over a second off the pace and it turned out to be true and expected Ferrari to be slightly closer, but was surprised to see Alonso so close.

For the race I predicted the top 5 to be, Webber, Alonso, Button, Hamilton, Massa and Vettel to have a DNF. This was before qualifying.

If it is either wet or dry conditions and provided everybody finishes, McLaren best hope seems to be 5th and 6th at the moment though. I think it is best if they now start putting more resources to the 2012 car and using the 2011 season as a test session as they really should not repeat what they are doing in both 2009 and 2010 as it is clearly not working. Sure they close the gap a bit at the end of the year, but they are not going to win anything from it. 2012 has no blown diffusers so if they start early and try and perfect it while Red Bull and Ferrari fight it out, they could catch the gap between them and Red Bull at the moment for next year. They can use ideas to improve the 2011 car too.

Back on to the race, it seems that Ferrari will have a very good chance in the dry to win this race. I think the Red Bull is running a very high downforce setup so they could be a sitting duck in the DRS zone but not really sure. I know they are faster in the speed traps but how much is that due to them being able to use the DRS earlier than anyone else which they can't in the race. We will find if anyone can keep up with them in the first few laps so looking forward to hopefully an exciting race.

Raining right now.:) I love this grand prix, it's definatley the best for the fans. Only Monza matches Silverstone for atmosphere.

I bet it will be wet, dry, wet, dry race with these typical English weather and the quick drying track.

Looks like it will be a fight out with Red Bull and Ferrari in the rain then as they are the cars with the most downforce on this track. Ferrari can get the hard tyres to work now so they would probably prefer it to be dry.

Absolutely buzzing when I found out it was raining. I think they'll start on slicks at this rate though, a dry line will appear.

Dry racing line, wet outline + slick tyres + race start = Ensuring mayhem. :D

Thought Humphreys was going to say "We have a German driver and German royalty...."
:D

Dud there's half an hour till the race, are you saying it can't rain, stop and then rain again?

I hope we have a damp track but start on slicks, especially with the flat out turn 1.

Martin Brundle: "I hear most drivers have gone out on intermediate tyres."

According to Bernie all teams have signed.
