In Q2, the way he kept sliding the car around constantly really reminded me of Ayrton...

Take away the name and the way he looks. Are you still thinking the same thing? Don't get me wrong, he did very well and probably raised his stock in the paddock, but I think the comparisons are maybe a little unjustified.

Sorry mate, I think interludes put that up a few pages back. But you're right though, it is brilliant. Does anyone know if thats real gold?

Those are 21-carat gold plating.. I was informed by Schuberth that there will be 20 pieces of replicas up for grabs with a price of 5,000 Euros each...

It's gold leaf. Gold that has been flattened into really really thin pieces. It's only like 22 karat, so not pure gold, but close enough.

No you know what, you don't have a clue.

If you think its better to have an impact rather than back off good for you. Obviously you fail to notice that drivers back off hundreds of times a race because, maybe for some crazy reason, they actually want to finish. Your taking 'backing off' as freaking out and running away which is simply not the case and not at all what I was talking about.

1) Thanks for reading all the valid and completely logical points I made. They've clearly sunk in

2) Have you even watched the on-board video? Lewis was already going slower than Pastor and got completely side-swiped. Backing off would have done absolutely nothing...

3) ...apart from increase the risk of Pastor getting flipped around Lewis' front wheel and slamming into the barriers.

4) Again, there's a very real difference between backing out of an overtaking move or avoiding one that isn't going to work, and expecting another driver to pile straight into you. If you think that Lewis and Pastor's collision was avoidable, then you presumably think every collision in the history of F1 was avoidable. Surely everyone could just back out to avoid an accident.

You really need to start thinking before putting finger to keyboard.

Since this has to do with the Belgian GP...France and Beligum will share a GP starting in 2013. Check it here

^ This is 100% Correct but I hate to say it Homeforsummer....people will still believe what they want due to personal bias or just not wanting to be wrong. This seems to be the case with the Hamilton/Maldanado incident. The videos prove Hamilton wasn't even at fault but once again people will believe what they want even if the evidence says otherwise.

Apparently some ridiculously stupid problem with tyres has occurred. FIA now saying Pirelli will make extra set available, if people have severe blistering.

^Word is that the front tyres have been blistered from Eau Rouge. At least this isn't 2005 where Bridgestone runners can ruin the day.

I thought Senna did very well for it being his first race in a while. In Q2, the way he kept sliding the car around constantly really reminded me of Ayrton...

Rain would make this an amazing race, but if it doesnt I think Vettel will walk away into the sunset...

If he wasn't called senna would that refference be made?

Who his uncle is does put extra expectation on him however he in also more noticed because of it.

It's fairly easy to be reminded of Ayrton by Bruno wearing the same colour helmet driving in the wet in a car with the same livery as his Lotus.

I was looking through google images of Bruno, and that exact thought came into my head.

I don't care what his last name is... Bruno came into the weekend with modest expectations (at least, I had modest expectations for him), replacing an experienced journeyman and going against a driver who's had two seasons in the Renault, and he's done an absolutely exemplary job of bringing in a good qualifying result.

Whatever happens during the race, Bruno has earned my respect for that qualifying performance.

Spooky, isn't it? He's got that same almost-sadness in his eyes that his uncle did:

Hope Bruno does well. I always figured his performance at HRT didn't mean anything considering no matter how fast he could have been he still would have been slow.

Could be the same person almost.
When Bruno retired from the 2010 Bahrain Grand Prix, the camera caught him pulling over and lifting his visor. This is what Martin Brundle had to say:
"That scares me. That looks like Ayrton. Didn’t scare me, but it stopped me in my tracks.”

If there is a God Bruno will one day be world champion! ;) Hope he finishes well today, deserves it after qualifying.

Poor show from Schumi and Button although Schumi couldn't do much about it.

Toro rosso have surprised me too.

How did Bridgestone runners ruin the day in 2005? I assume you are talking about Indy, if anything, without Bridgestone, there would have been no race at all.

They both have monobrows :sly:

Pastor Maldonado interview: "I don't know really... the contact was on my back..."

Riiiiight...

They've just shown a replay of the incident (the first time I've seen it anywhere but online) on STAR. Lewis does jink slightly before the corner, but he straightens out and holds the line for at least a second and a half before Maldonado hits him.

Maldonado pulls out, overtakes and cuts across Hamilton's bow in less than a second. I don't know about you, but that's incredibly little time for anyone to react... from the time Maldonado enters the blind spot not covered by the mirrors to cutting across is less than half a second.

I don't know about you, but actually reacting to a dangerously close cut in something like two or three tenths of a second is a bit much to ask of anyone, even an F1 driver.

Here we go then. I think: Lewis 1st Vettel 2nd Massa 3rd.
