It doesn't look particulary like its going to rain, though :(
It definetely won't rain tommorow. Sunday? 30% chance?

Maybe Shumi can pull off a shocker.

I thought he already has. :p 3 spins at the same corner is pretty shocking driving. The only other driver to come close is the shockingly bad Maldanado.

Finally a grand prix that doesn't force me to wake up in the middle of the night :p.

Looking forward to it. I'm still waiting to see a proper race from Massa, hopefully this is the one. 👍

Also, it's very sad for F1 to lose this track, one of the only great layouts among the newer tracks, what a shame. :grumpy:

Kovaleinen is beating Di Resta.

Edit: Top 18 seperated by just 1.7 seconds. Kobayashi confident with 3 sets of options for tomorrow. Get ready for some crazy overtakes!

Schumi might be getting a grid place penalty. Blocking Hamilton on his hot lap.

Bad point of Q1 = Kamui is last..
Good point of Q1 = Kamui is last..
Plenty of overtaking tomorrow! I want to watch the race on board Kamui please :)

Noticed that one.

Very silly of Ferrari using one set of softs for Q1... absolutely no need to waste the tires in that session!

Interesting on-board for Petronas Mercedes... looks like they're taking a page out of McLaren's book and are running pretty darn stiff...

I believe Liuzzi has just put a Hispania somewhere other than the last two qualifying cars...

Good effort from him. I can't see Massa doing well but I can always hope.

Mercedes are looking extremley fast. :odd:

Edit: Come on Heidfeld! Last gasp lap gets him through. :D No one went through on primes which will probably mean that they will do one run each next time.

I don't care what it is. I want a magic paddle! :lol:

:lol:👍

For the record: Both Renaults are in Q3 and Vitaly is infront of Heidfeld, go Ruski!

Yeah lol one of the German commentators on TV was kinda pissed at this term, don't know why though lol.

Section 11.6 of the FIA sporting regulations state that magic should not be used in qualifying...

Vettel is like an Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo - he's better than anybody else like him. In these case, the other drivers.

Vettel getting out of car, let's see if his time will be enough.

EDIT: He's simply boss. Stoping although everyone else still trying.

Rosberg 3rd!

Schumacher ****ed it up. 8th.

:lol: Interesting replays up on the screen... the Brawn Mercedes is, if it can be believed, even more ridiculously stiff than a McLaren... (well, it looks like it), while the Lotus Renaults are wonderfully buttoned down through that quadruple turn...

Boo... Vettel sets his pole lap with 4 minutes left... nothing exciting left to watch...

Damnit... spoke too soon! Rosberg pips Hamilton! Hamilton on way to line... crap! P4!

Ruski infront of Obiwan, nice.

Top ten:

1 Sebastian Vettel Red Bull Racing 1:25,049 Min.
2 Mark Webber Red Bull Racing 1:25,454 Min. + 0,405
3 Nico Rosberg Mercedes Grand Prix 1:25,574 Min. + 0,525
4 Lewis Hamilton McLaren Mercedes 1:25,595 Min. + 0,546
5 Fernando Alonso Scuderia Ferrari 1:25,851 Min. + 0,802
6 Jenson Button McLaren Mercedes 1:25,982 Min. + 0,933
7 Vitali Petrov Lotus Renault GP 1:26,296 Min. + 1,247
8 Michael Schumacher Mercedes Grand Prix 1:26,646 Min. + 1,597
9 Nick Heidfeld Lotus Renault GP 1:26,659 Min. + 1,610
10 Felipe Massa Scuderia Ferrari 1:26,395 Min.

Q3 was boring to watch. Vettel & Webber do 1 lap and climb out. I bet Vettel could have broken 1:25. That was the 3rd ever fastest lap. If you raced the Ferrari F2004 against the Red Bull RB7 with the wing in play and the KERS it would be a dead heat.

I wonder if they have been allowed to use wing flex and cheat. The FIA could be corrupt.

Damnit. I wake up at 7 to watch qualifying and it's over. I swear everywhere I looked had it starting at 7. Thankfully SpeedTV will replay it.

Four out of four poles isn't bad.

Are you sure it's 11.6? Because here's what I saw...

FIA Sporting Regulations
27) GENERAL CAR REQUIREMENTS

27.1 Electromagnetic radiation between 2.0 and 2.7GHz is forbidden save with the written consent of the FIA.

27.2 Accident data recording :
a) Each car must be fitted with an FIA accident data recorder during each Event and during all tests which are attended by more than one team. Teams must use their best endeavours to ensure that the recorder is in working order at all times. The only purpose of these units is to monitor, record or control one or more of the following :
- data relevant to an accident or incident ;
- a deceleration warning light on board the car ;
- a lap trigger ;
- the driver input signal used to initiate the propulsion of the car at the start of a race.
b) At any time following an accident or incident competitors must make the data recorder available and accessible to the FIA. A representative of the team concerned may be present when data relevant to an accident or incident is being uploaded from the recorder. A copy of the data will be made available to the team.
c) Any conclusions as to the cause of an accident, or any data relevant to an accident, may only be published in the form of a report which has been agreed between the team concerned and the FIA.

27.3 All cars must be fitted with a car positioning system which has been manufactured by the FIA designated supplier to a specification determined by the FIA. No other parts which, in the opinion of the FIA are capable of performing a similar function, may be fitted to any car.

27.4 During the entire Event, no screen, cover or other obstruction which in any way obscures any part of a car will be allowed at any time in the paddock, garages, pit lane or grid, unless it is clear any such covers are
needed solely for mechanical reasons, which could, for example, include protecting against fire.
In addition to the above the following are specifically not permitted :
- engine, gearbox or radiator covers whilst engines are being changed or moved around the garage ;
- covers over spare wings when they are on a stand in the pit lane not being used ;
- parts such as (but not limited to) spare floors, fuel rigs or tool trolleys may not be used as an obstruction.
The following are permitted :
- covers which are placed over damaged cars or components ;
- a transparent tool tray, no more than 50mm deep, placed on top of the rear wing ;
- warming or heat retaining covers for the engine and gearbox on the grid ;
- a rear wing cover designed specifically to protect a mechanic starting the car from fire ;
- tyre heating blankets ;
- covers over the tyre manufacturer’s code numbers (not the FIA bar code numbers) ;
- a cover over the car in the parc fermé overnight ;
- a cover over the car in the pit lane or grid if it is raining.

27.5 No team may invoke the use of any spiritual force, including but not limited to magic, at any point over the course of the race weekend.

No Comment .Can't remmember when Someone did a Lap and didn't even bother Do a second run .I would be pretty 🤬 Off if I was Mclaren,Ferrari,Mercedess or Renault.

RBR has already passed the even more stringent tests that the FIA are now implementing. That the FIA have already changed the tests twice (or thrice?) thanks to complaints from other teams indicates that there's no complicity there.

Whoever did Massa's tire strategy chart should be dunked in the toilet. They wasted one set of softs in Q1, which forced them to sit out Q3. What this means is that while Massa has the luxury of picking his starting tire tomorrow, he will still not have an advantage in terms of soft tires in reserve over the other drivers in the top teams.

It does not matter if the FIA IS CORRUPT. If they are CORRUPT (taking money from RBR/Renault/Red Bull/whomever else) then it does not matter they can fail the checks and officially pass every time.

I'm not saying that the RBR cars are illegal, they may not be. The FIA may not be corrupt. But if the FIA is taking money from the top team then you cant say the car is legal either.

Promising that Mclaren was fairly close, but I think Vettel could very well have sand bagged based on his 1 lap "effort" in Q3.
