The DRS detection zone will be just after the swimming pool and as most of us knew, the activation zone is on the main straight:

Webber is generally strong here in Monaco, but If Sebastain beats him again, then its all over for Marks F1 career after this season.

We get it, alright? Webber has disappointed you so far this year.

Enough already.

Neither. He's doing an X2010 Indy Grind for cash.

Can't be... He's turning right. :sly:

Good news! (No, not the Dacia Sandero ) You can buy that race seat (minus the wheel/pedals) for only $1,320 of you hard earned dollars! Unfortunately I can't find the cool F1 style steering wheel anywhere

Well you could buy it for me since it is my birthday. 💡

Have way too many guitars on my "to buy list" to even consider it tbh. And every one of them will cost more than double the seat each.:scared:

Just found this. Would love one of these steering wheels.

Edit:

and look at the price of the wheel

I want one, but that's just too much.

I would, but that thing costs more than my car, and being a 16 year old, I don't exactly have a reliable source of income. Its soooooo cool though.

Sorry man

Damn you

The wheel looks nice, but I'm happy enough with the dfgt I barely use. I love racing but the problem was that I didn't have a decent enough table to use. Currently in canada, all my possessions are in Scotland and I'm going to move to Germany either later this year or early next year. I think I have other priorities. Was looking into cutting (doing a proper job though, not a rush job) the upper part of the wheel of the dfgt off so it looked more like an f1 style wheel. I doubt there are any electronics in that portion.

Webber out of FP1 with a broken gearbox... not a great start to his 'weekend'.

EDIT: Can't see any DRS being used at all...

EDIT EDIT: Red flag at 41 minutes to go, possibly for water leak on main straight.

They are saying that if that leak is coming from under the tarmac (like a broken water pipe) they may have to dig it up! :scared:

I'd be surprised if they used DRS here at all. The course is too narrow as it is

According to the FIA it's enabled everywhere on track except the tunnel - haven't seen any yet.

See the map a few posts above for the in-race zones.

EDIT: Liuzzi has tank-slapper on way out of tunnel and takes off front wing, unhurt but loses car for rest of session.

Yeah but I could see them cancelling it at the last second before the start of the race.

Schumacher outbrakes for St Devote (Turn 1), tries to make runoff but goes sideways into barrier... just as his teammate sets the session's fastest time.

Where were you guys watching this? I can't find a stream anywhere :(

EDIT: Dont worry about it, my usual site wasn't showing them for some reason. Working now 👍

Awesome wheel, didn't know of its existence until now!

About FP1, I know we can't read much into those times, but again it is interesting that the two Lotus(es?) are ahead of a Force India and also that Kovalainen's time isn't too far from both Saubers.

Monaco and Montreal were the closest Lotus got to the midfield last year (just over 1 second), so I fully expect them to be showing some great pace this time around!

Sauber are the slowest of the Ferraris... not good!

Interesting that Karthikeyan seemed to be doing a fuelled run, he did 37 laps I believe. Liuzzi looks slower due to breaking his own car after 3 laps, I think their time could actually end up being better than it appears on those results!

Narain was probably taking Bruno Senna's advice, as we heard on BBC radio commentary. 👍 FP1 isn't about setup, its about getting used to the track and checking basic setup. Monaco is probably the most important race circuit in the world for getting used to. You generally hear a lot of the drivers saying they have to build up the confidence every time here.

The fact that all the cars went out despite the grip levels being very low says it all really - any other circuit we wouldn't see this much action.

Definitely - and it's a shame not to see Senna in an F1 car this season.

This afternoon the track will be warmer and the drivers' confidence will be higher - although Vettel and Alonso already looked scarily committed to me :D

DRS is gonna be impossible here... And dangerous... I think it should have been banned all around the track like it originally was planned to be.

Yeah DRS is almost impossible to be used in this kind of circuit. Everywhere you go in Monaco, there'll always be a corner. I wonder if anybody actually used it just now...

Well it was clearly going up and down on Vettel's Red Bull on the straight and towards Tabac. So yeah they are using it, even if it doesn't really gain them much, it does gain them something.

I couldn't see it being used but Senna said they were activating it after Turn 1 and on the straights around the swimming pool section.

Good spot, Ardius!
