I was sure it was going to start 5PM AEST
 
Fifteen minutes to the pre-race show on SPEED. Race starts at 4am (that's Eastern Standard Time in the USA). --- Randy

No, it wasn't delayed. It was always set for 6pm. OneHD just have a pre-race show. But the basketball has gone overtime, so if you tuned into the live stream, you got to see a really unprofessional display of the commentators thinking they were off-camera and generally mocking the basketball players, fans and commentators.

On the upside its 15 mins less of Rusty and his moronic sidekicks making absurdly obvious comments and passing them off as 'insights'.

Comments from them on the live stream - "coverage there has already started" - imply that they're going to do the full hour pre-show and delay coverage of the race. Especially since the stream is available from 5pm to 8pm, so we might miss the final twenty-thirty minutes of the race.

If they do that, then I'm writing a letter. I'm going to start with their inability and their hype, then move on to their unprofessionalism and finished with the delay.

You're talking about the pre race show. This can vary depending on network. I see you're in the uk. I'm from Glasgow originally, but in Canada, it just starts a minute before the race.
 
Anyone from Malaysia near the track want to comment on weather?

Edit: Nevermind, just tuned into pre-race coverage. It's not raining, but those clouds looks ripe.
 
I think we're about to see a breakout performance from Kobayashi. He has been primed for a podium since he entered F1; I have this odd feeling that it'll all go to plan today.

That's the BBC show starting. Whenever its a live race, the BBC always has a hour's run-up before the actual race so they can go over what has happened over the weekend and the qualifying, before the race then starts. So, we now have 20 mins left.

Oooooh....interesting.

I just heard the Aussie commentators say this year they have moved pole from the outside to next to the wall.

If thats the case, LH for the lead at the first turn for sure.

When I first started watching F1 four years ago, I loved watching races during rain. It created a lot of movement in positions.

But now that I have a fantasy team that stands to lose a lot by rain, I have ambivalent feelings towards rain today.
 
The OneHD guys said that that the pole postition driver will start from the right(clostest to pitlane) rather than left, should shake things up with the marbles and dirt being on the right.

I'm pretty sure they must have cleaned the marbles before the start.
But still, both Red Bulls are on the dirty side.

Same here in the States. They apparently changed the pole position from the outside of the track to the inside. The outside of the track is a great position to have if you're in second place and get a good start. It puts that driver in a great position going into the second turn. I think that's more of a factor than the pole being on the marbles or anything else.

The skies look ominously dark.
 
I really want to see SV have mix it up on track with other cars, rather then just disappearing into the distance. I really think he is untested in that area when compared to LH, Alonso and even Webber to some extent.
 
Sepang Turn 1 is always interesting because it's not a 90-degree turn like most other tracks. Hamilton has to clear Vettel by some distance off the line if he wants to guarantee first following the first corner.

A win would be a bonus... :p
Though i doubt that would happen. Podium finish is possible though.

It's still dry but still have high chance of rain.
