2011 Malaysian Grand Prix

I still don't know why OneHD is showing American NBA over the F1.

They only ever show the practice sessions for the Australian race. Hey, until a few seasons ago, we didn't even get quali, and never got a live race until ONE came along

@Interludes. Now that you mention it, ONE did give the impression that the feed would be regular. They don't even need to give a commentary, just the ambient sounds would do

I thought OneHD was live-streaming all sessions of all race weekends this year.

But no, they only did it for Melbourne. Probably because their commentators had other commitments. But here's a radical idea: give us the BBC and 5Live commentary feeds, which would improve the quality of the broadcast.

Pretty lame effort by One HD, they sure did make us think they would be streaming all sessions this year.
Oh well back to TV Korner.

I guess no one else uses justin.tv.....

Bob Varsha isn't there this weekend!? Ugh. He's the best commentator SpeedTV has. Leigh Diffey isn't bad though. He's pretty knowledgeable.

Mercedes GP seems to have brought another big upgrade to their car.

edit: Renault not taking part in FP2 until they know exactly what happened to Petrov in FP1. Suspicion is of an upright failure. Not a brake or tire failure as previously thought.

edit 2: 120 degrees!?!?!?!?!?

Don't read too much into initial practice times... and even if they're on top now... they might be even faster come qualifying.

I wonder if Alonso will make another crazy qualifying time again like in Australia.

👍

I'm sure we will see more of the same. FP3 is most like the qualifying times. Friday's FP1 and 2 seem to be moderately-paced runs whereas Saturday's FP3 is for qualifying-spec running.

I would rather see Nico beat Schumi throughout the season again. I'm a hater.

Can't take credit for the pic, but it fits perfectly. I think it was taken a couple days ago.

Material batch are the cause for the both of the Renault suspension failure.

Teh link...

Oh, it's raining here 5pm today...just for several minutes though. :grumpy:

Hopefully we'll see a bit more rain like last year. I'm going there to catch the action tomorrow and whow today's practice sessions were weird!

Yeah...two suspension failure and one rare brake failure on FP1.
I really hope for more.

Just heard commentator say that there is a 75-90% chance of thunderstorms on sunday.:D
Haven't heard about tomorrow but I don't expect it because it's an hour earlier in the day.

Just nabbed this from the site, I don't think any other countries besides the US can view it due to licensing issues...

"...Please view in Flash-enabled browser with broadband connection. FOM practice session online rights to SPEED apply to continental US residents only & will be blacked out to all other areas."

Same thing happens when I (Canadian eh!) try and view British F1 vid - not available outside UK  I guess its because people outside UK would not be able to buy any of the stuff advertised accompany the video feed/stream?

Webber quickest so far 👍:)

It actually because of licensing. In the UK anyone with a TV has to pay a licence fee which the BBC use to make its content so if you don't pay for it in theory you shouldn't be allowed to watch it, also there are no adverts at all on the BBC. They are planning to make the iPlayer service available world wide for a fee which would be great for all you guys wanting to watch UK stuff (including live broadcasts) abroad.
