I'm not a fan of the 2 car draft, but it didn't ruin the race for me.
People try to justify it, with 'lead changes' or whatever else you can come up with, but honestly, with the exception of the finish line, did a single lead change excite you last week? Not me. I saw guys passing for the lead back and forth, but they weren't racing each other, they just happened to be next to each other while they drafted with someone else.
I'd compare it to a daily commute. Side by side with someone on the freeway, going the same speed. We aren't racing, we just happen to be next to each other while on our way from point A to point B. Neither of us has to give a **** about the other, until we both see the sign that says "Left lane ends in 1 mile, merge right", then all of the sudden we care about who's ahead of who.
I agree with the green/white/checkered show on Nascar.com.
The safety levels of the cars, tracks, walls, interior equipment is beyond the point, where anything but a freak accident will cause serious injury. Back the fans up, take off the restrictor plates, and let them race. Then let's see what happens.
