Instead of fines or probation, NASCAR should make Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick drive Dodges for five races :lol::lol::lol:

I thinks its great that Regan Smith won his first cup win( 1st win that counts) , how cool is it that a under funded one car team beat the monopoly in the cups series. That was by far the shortest victory lane interview I have seen in a long time, but what was great about it, was how sincere he was, no PR B.S., just pure emotion of winning and how much it really did mean to him.

To be honest I was surprised at the feature NASCAR.com had about their being three dodges left.

I couldn't for the life of me think who else other than Penske that uses them still. But meh, not like Penske cares about the NASCAR side of racing. Still a hard on for the Indy.


As for Kentucky, it'll be a good race. The new points system + the chances to get the first name on the new trophy will have a lot of exciting racing throughout.

On another note, Kimi is going to make his debut soon, excitment or yet another open wheeler unable to hack it.
 
Dodge has had some good showings this year and the last couple, including BK finishing 3rd at Darlington.

Their problem is they don't have multiple teams to share info like the Ford, Chevy and Toyota teams do.

I don't really pay attention to the schedule. I didn't know the next race was Dover until after the race Saturday night.

Silent, a channel on Sky Television got the license to show the races live.

Currently they only show the Sprint Cup races but they will show the Charlotte race later this year when Kimi makes his debut in the Trucks.


Dont think there is a word on it coming to Virgin yet tho if you have that.
As for myself I had to buy Setanta sports to get the racing sadly :(

ohh talking about nascar as well, the game Nascar 2011,
will it work on british consoles?? cuz i really want it but i dont wanna buy it to find out that it doesnt work
 
LOL, I read about and checked on YT that Busch/Harvick situation. Crazy stuff ... indeed NASCAR is a different world (can't be because it's american motorsports, such a thing wouldn't be possible in ALMS. Or would it?)


EDIT - @Silent7Sniper7 - NTG2011 works on PAL PS3 consoles, both offline and online. But not on european XBOX consoles (online, not sure if it works offline).
 
There was talk of the NTG being region free for Xbox, but I think thats a breech in certain laws and thats why it couldn't be done. PS3 and DS are still the only consoles I believe to be 100% region free. (Several of the newer Pokemon games where bought in visits to the USA for the family back home)

It really has nothing to do with the fact that it's NASCAR and more to do with the fact it's short track racing(Although Darlington isn't technically one it produces similar racing).

On that note, as predicted by many, they just got a slight tap on the wrist.

And from ESPN.com: Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch were placed on four weeks' probation and fined $25,000 Tuesday for their pit road confrontation following Saturday night's Sprint Cup race at Darlington Raceway. Harvick tweeted about his penalty and officials from Kevin Harvick Inc. confirmed the punishment Tuesday. Both drivers are on probation until June 15.(5-10-2011)

Montoya/Newman and [Rowdy] Busch/Harvick. Has a full moon shone over Cup recently? Getting crazy! Outside of this, I'm proud for Regan Smith winning at Darlington. Looking at the results from the 2011 Southern 500, I'm a bit disappointed that no Hendrick cars finished 10th or better.

Up next... Dover. I don't praise Dover too much, but I'm a fan of Dover International Speedway. Always respected this track and its challenge. Any early favorites to take home the win for each of the races at Dover in NASCAR's top three series? I wouldn't be surprised if Kyle Busch wins at least once this weekend.

Seeing Rowdy win consistently in Trucks and Nationwide almost makes me wonder if Rowdy will EVER be a Cup champ. I mean... are Trucks and Nationwide too easy for Kyle Busch, or is he just not good enough to consistently challenge on the Cup level as he does in the other two series?

Thing is, both drivers have a rather long rap sheet. This kind of behavior is nothing new coming from either of them.

Sad thing is, the way NASCAR works is that someone has to be injured before they do anything about it.
 
NASCAR is enabling them, so it's hard to justify anything more than a slap on the wrist. Boys have at it, you can't give them permission and then punish them for doing it. A slap on the wrist is all they can do without being complete hypocrites.

There has to be a line though, rivalries do increase the excitement in a race, injuries on the other hand only lead to lawsuits and bad publicity. For instance, the NHL allows fighting, but once one of the players hits the ground the refs break it up.

Besides, these types of fines were issued even before the whole "boys have at it" thing.

I was surprised to see that Busch just shoved Harvick's car out of the way in pit road, especially when Happy's pit crew was running down the lane. Shrub is damn lucky that no one was hit or hurt by that move. Harvick swung and missed, which I laughed at, but Busch's reply of driving away was both smart and wimpy lol.

Congrats to Regan Smith. I remember that Talladega race where he went below the yellow line, costing him a win. I also remember Smoke won that race instead! No doubt about this victory. Congrats again to Smith!
 
I agree there has to be a limit, and for me the first of those limits is 'in car and on track'. Sure I wouldn't mind seeing a boxing match, but NASCAR has never allowed 2 drivers to freely throw punches at each other. Every fight I've ever seen was immediately ripped apart by crews, officials and anyone else near by. I've never seen NASCAR allow 2 drivers to 'settle things' with their fists. So, as far as I'm concerned any and all 'boys have at it' incidents need to remain on track and inside the cars.

Kyle said the following when asked if he understood/agreed with NASCAR's ruling:

&#8220;I do. I understand it perfectly actually,&#8221; Busch said. &#8220;It&#8217;s the &#8216;Boys Have at It,&#8217; that happens out on the race track and it seems like they allow us to police ourselves pretty simply out there."

&#8220;When matters get taken into the drivers hands or anything else onto pit road, where innocent bystanders can be injured or something , NASCAR is going to step in and they&#8217;re going to intervene and they&#8217;re going to set penalties the way that they feel need to be levied. To me, it&#8217;s not a gray area, it&#8217;s pretty simple, it&#8217;s black and white.&#8221;

He clearly understands that someone could of gotten hurt and openly accepts the fine he was issued. I still believe he handled the situation very well overall, despite the circumstances of what happened. I also stood behind Carl Edwards when he spun Keslowski which put him airborne into the fence last year. Edwards didn't mean for that to happen, and it's unfair to punish him based on the outcome rather than the action. Lots of people get spun every year intentionally, but because Keslowski's car had some freak lift off result, all the sudden Carl's actions were portrayed far worse than they really were.
You can't control the outcome, only the actions, therefor to punish based on the uncontrollable variable, will make it impossible for anyone to fairly or consistently govern.
 
You have to take into account the fact that Keselowski was in position late in the race for a top-5, while Edwards was several laps down. That is why Edwards will never get my respect, ever.
