Good race tonight! Glad to see Smith win for the first time.

Montoya and Kyle Busch should have a suspension due to reckless driving and what Busch did after the race. Busch is a jerk at times IMO.
 
What will happen in nutshell:

- NASCAR Won't do anything to Kyle, period. NASCAR is too sorry to do anything, we should know this by now.

- NASCAR would never ban Cup drivers from Nationwide. Why? Ticket Sales. As unfortunate as it is, That spoiled brat (Kyle), that moron(Reffering to harvick) and The snob (Hamlin) sell tickets as does Carl and Bad Brad. Likewise, the Truck series gets most ratings because of Cup drivers.

And yes if you haven't noticed, I don't like Harvick. Never have and therefore don't care about this big incident.

On to the next one.
 
I got the race on the DVR and looks like this will be awesome to watch!!! :D Congrats to Carl on 2nd and keeping the points lead. :dopey: However... HUGE CONGRATS TO REAGAN SMITH!!! :D :dopey: Hell of an awesome place to get that first win!!! :sly: As for Kyle... oh joy. --- Randy
 
I was surprised to see how relaxed - heck, even nonchalant - Kevin and Kyle were in their interviews after the race. Kyle has gotten quite used to saying the right things, but he keeps reminding us that he struggles with the "red mist." I have no idea how he can consider himself to be in the right after not only blatantly wrecking Harvick, but then also pulling that stunt after the race. Sure, Kevin gave him one or two nudges on the track and then did that little dance with Kyle before getting out of his car, but those actions aren't really on the same scale as Kyle's.
 
Having looked through a few of the press releases tonight, I feel really bad for Regan Smith now. His first victory is being overshadowed by Kyle Busch's stupidity and that is all people will be talking about this week. 👎

I can't say I am surprised. Harvick was in the NASCAR Hauler so naturally his Ragequit already cooled off. And of course Kyle is going to be relaxed since he did it.

All I can say is this: Someone got trolled.

As for Kyle. Apparently the tranny they had in didn't have a reverse gear. Whatever happened he is really really lucky no one was walking infront of that particular wall (Crews or Officals). Everytime we see this new Kyle Busch he goes and does something really really stupid. There was no need to nail Harvick like he did. Im hoping he hit with a probation, becasue then he's going to get poked with his own stick and when he retaliates..... Bye Bye Busch :)
 
I had friends over to watch the Kentucky Derby and they stayed late. I dvr'd the Nascar race but started it kind of late.

Made it to about 100 laps to go and then I couldn't keep my eyes open. After reading what happened I cant wait to watch the final 100 laps today.

Apparently, you don't know NASCAR like most of us do. NASCAR does nothing, ever. Carl wrecks Keseloski twice in dangerous and almost murderous fashion and he gets no worse then points reduction and probation and this is after endangering the crowd (Atlanta) and the driver (Memphis). NASCAR won't do anything different here either, only a slap on the wrist.
 
I was thinking along the lines of safety that either Harvick or Busch was putting at risk. That was a parked, unmanned car that was forced into a wall at speed. Now what could have happened if a crew member stopped to watch or an offical was coming over to intercept a possible mishap? Someone could've been run over or crushed against the wall.

Maybe they wont but they really should. I know its currently "Boys have at it" status but they need to show the guys that they arent just the ones in the white suits on pit road.

You can watch it in the uk, there are highlights on sky sports but I ain't sure when.
 
Silent, a channel on Sky Television got the license to show the races live.

Currently they only show the Sprint Cup races but they will show the Charlotte race later this year when Kimi makes his debut in the Trucks.


Dont think there is a word on it coming to Virgin yet tho if you have that.
As for myself I had to buy Setanta sports to get the racing sadly :(
 
Great job Regan Smith! What I like most about Smiths win was his interview in victory lane. After thanking his mom, he thanked all of us, the fans, he didn't go into sponsor plug mode sipping a Coke, Gatoraide and then a Coors light, he acted like a person, not a talking billboard, which was awesome.

Sucks that his victory was interrupted by the after race side show. Sucks even more that I picked all three involved in that late race incident, Harvick, Busch and Bowyer. Oh well.

Raced win die-cast on sale yet? :lol:
 
Well done to Regan Smith! But Kevin vs Kyle... will be interesting to see at Dover.

Harvick got into him about 4 times within 1 corner and 1 straight. Kyle was done and spun him out. Boys have at it. Harvick throws a tantrum like he always does, charging people on pit road, Kyle said no thanks, and drove off. Harvick is the one who left his car unmanned and in the middle of the road. Was it dangerous, yeah, but they're both equally as responsible. Kyle drove off, because boys have at it is designed to remain on the track. Kyle was very calm, didn't insult Harvick or his wife, explained his side to the camera and comes away with a solid 11th place finish, that moves him up 3 spots in the standings. He did the mature thing.

The immature thing, would have been to get out of the car and fist fight with Harvick, then hurl insults into the camera like an angry kid. Sure, the fist fight would have been a lot more manly, but not the mature, Championship thing to do.

I'm not a fan of either of them. I don't think Harvick intentionally got into Kyle, but he did regardless, and from the driver seat all you feel is 'bump, bump, bang, slam' think WTF and then retaliate.
 
So apparently there was some Days of Thunder stuff happening, and I missed the race. I already set it to tape Thursday morning when Speed replays it, but it sounds like the last third or so was quite crazy.

I'm not sure who started it because the camera angle was pretty bad for the first shot. Kevin did retaliate in turn 3 which didn't do anything to Kyle. I blame the turn 4 incident on Bowyer because he tried to make a pass that shouldn't have been attempted. He got into Harvick, who then got loose and bumped into Busch. While Bowyer was headed towards the inside wall, Harvick was turning to the left to try and get away from Busch, who followed him down the track and deliberately took Harvick out.

Totally uncalled for. THEN, pushing Harvick's car out of the way on pit road where it could have seriously hurt someone? Don't defend his actions. He's an idiot, and just because he gave a "calm" interview doesn't make him mature. 👎
 
I support Kyle taking Harvick out on the track. Not deserved, but justified.
The pit road thing, they are both equally at fault, not just Kyle.
But Kyle had 2 choices at that point. Sit there and let Harvick freely swing at his head, or drive off. He did the logical thing, whether it was mature or not, is irrelevant.
 
Harvick is NOT at fault for the pit road incident. Apparently Kyle (and you) forgot that the cars do have a reverse gear. Even then, you going to run like a 🤬 or stand up to the guy? If Harvick swings at him, then Harvick has whatever coming to him. Pushing the car out of the way where it could have injured (or killed) someone was not the logical thing. Don't defend it.

If Busch thinks he's "man" enough to wreck Harvick intentionally during a caution, he should be man enough to not run away scared after the race.

I'll say it again: Pussy of the year, all years.
 
I would like to take the subject off this uninteresting ratings increase to talk about something else, well two other more interesting topics:

Dodge in NASCAR
Hopelessly alone in the hands of Parker Kligerman in the Trucks, rarely catches a break in Nationwide and seems almost hopeless in Cup, barely nailing top 10 finishes(most of the time not on performance). Seeing as they are hopelessly overpowered in all three divisions, are they pretty much useless? It looks just downright bleak for them really. In fact if I'm honest, counting them out wouldn't actually be a bad idea 80% of the time. The Penske cars struggle and then the only other two dodges are teams that can't complete a race without wrecking (RGM) or barely qualify at all (K-Automotive). I've said to friends before and now moreso then ever I say it again: Dodge should just quit. They are beat week in and week out. The other three have massive pools of R & D to go by and plenty of top ten cars to draw from whereas I strongly doubt Brian Keseloski and Robby Gordon can contribute anything to the Penske Team and vice versa. I'm under the impression that Dodge is a sinking ship at this point.

Fuel injection
As we know, this year marks the final year of caburated engines as they'll switch over to Fuel injection. Apparently, NASCAR has said teams may use fuel injection at some later tests. To me, a step in the right direction. It'll finally justify relevence to road cars and perhaps the possibility of production based engines (assuming anyone is interesting in making that happen).

Discuss, because I'm tired of reading and hearing about feuds.
