Austin343Yeah, I still don't understand that at all. Can someone please explain what Turner's reasons were for replacing Sorenson out of the blue?
Judging by the primered right side, I would say that might be the car from Loudon?
LinkJayskiMichael Waltrip Racing announced Clint Bowyer will drive the team's #15 Toyota with 5-hour Energy as the primary sponsor for the next three NASCAR Sprint Cup seasons beginning at the 2012 Daytona 500 [for 24 races a season]. The announcement ends months of speculation for the highly valued free agent. "This has been a very long summer, but I think for everyone involved, the best decision was made to be at Michael Waltrip Racing," said Bowyer. "I am a big fan of 5-hour Energy so I was really happy when they approached me about putting a deal together. We were diligent in working through our options and finally found the right fit. I have been so impressed with what's going on at MWR. Then when the 5-hour Energy executives met with Michael and his people, we knew this was going to be our home. I've been with one organization for my entire Sprint Cup career and leaving there was the hardest part of the decision. But now I'm ready to start the next chapter in my racing career."
Bowyer, 32, is a six-year veteran with four victories, two pole positions, 30 top-five finishes and 90 top-10s in Sprint Cup competition. MWR is finishing its fifth season competing in the Sprint Cup series and has scored two wins.

dollar general has a history of only wanting cup drivers in the car. they used to sponsor burney lamar for khi in the nationwide series and pulled him out in favor of kevin harvick and bobby labonte. same situation for kertus davis the next season they made harvick drive his races. and recently busch wanted them to have brian ickler drive the truck races for them but they told busch if he didn't drive then they were pulling their sponsorship. the only reason sorenson drove for them at all was because he was supposed to drive like 10 races last season with vickers driving the rest. when vickers was out for his blood clots there was no choice but for sorenson to take over full time
That makes sense from a marketing standpoint but a darn shame nonetheless. 👎I found a theory from a user on NASCAR.com that seems to pretty likely sum up the mess with Doller General:
When you also look at their bizarre announcement of leaving Sarah Fisher's Indycar team even after a very impressive win, you get a far bigger sense for Dollar General's departure. Even more evident is who they are reportedly headed to for Cup in 2012: JGR
In other words, Dollar General only wants to sponsor big names. I wouldn't even be surprised if they decide to head to say Penske in Indycar.
In one piece, yes, but how else will the car be on the highlights if it's not involved in a crash? Here is the aforementioned #15 car.

At least 5-Hour is now on a car that will finish in one piece for the most part.![]()
BubbleBelly542So sick of Jimmie Johnson.
Jello18Same here. Hope Kahne gets him on the Restart
Wow. Did I call that?On a related note, I'm not liking the 24's chances right now. I get the feeling they lost the hot hand and won't get it back.
Oh look. The 48 wins, the 14 chokes on pit road, and the 24's championship hopes go up in smoke. Everything is falling in place just like the last five years. 29 and 99 stay in front in the points but it's only a matter of time before another repeat. 👎
