Definitely, but most exciting =/= best. It's highly probable that it's a United/Arsenal affair. The only Liverpool player who comes close to a Best XI is Steve McManaman. But of course, it's all subjective.
If I was doing a 'favourite' XI as opposed to what I think is a 'best' XI, you know I'd have Nigel Martyn, Paolo di Canio, Benito Carbone and Des Walker in there without question.
Now, a
worst Premiership XI, that would stoke the embers of discussion. To keep away players who came, did nothing and never played again, each player must have a minimum of 40 appearences; a middle ground between 1992/93-1994/95's 42 game season and 1995/96-present's 38 game season. The 40 appearences can be subs or starts, spread across as many or as few seasons as you like.
If you want to give your Worst XI a manager, they must have a minimum of 40 league games too, so no Christian Gross or Chris Hutchings.
In before Emile Heskey. I honestly think he was underrated and got far too much stick, haha. And in before "I'm a United fan, so here's Lampard in my midfield", and "I'm a Liverpool fan, so here's Gary Neville in my defence". There is no way you can justify Frank Lampard and Gary Neville as being worse football
players than, say... Vinnie Jones or Frank Sinclair. We want god awful players who have no talent justifying a professional contract.
