I agree, RvP deserves it more than Falcao. He has been incredible this year.

But also, Pirlo instead of Xabi Alonso...?
I mean, he orchestrated the midfield of a team that went undefeated in the league and was almost singlehandedly the inspiration behind Italy's performance in the Euro... but Alonso was definitely the better pick...

I think Falcao wins over RvP hands down. RvP is good but, look at the players around him. Falcao does just as well as RvP or even better with players that aren't on the same level.

So you're saying that Arsenal were a better team in the 2011/2012 season than Athletico? Cause he was lighting it up for them the same as he is for United now...
Don't get me wrong, Falcao is tremendous. I just don't think that he's as deserving as RvP because he's really only been white-hot this season, whereas RvP did it all year, end of last season and the start of this one...

And Arsenal has a much better midfield than Athletico. I can think of two players last year that were a big help, Wilshere and Song.

I know, it was a fantastic game to watch as well with both teams having a lot of chances. Chelsea v Swansea tonight. I think I'll be rooting for the Swans.

And I would say RvP because he plays in the Premier League, the hardest league in Europe, (maybe the world). Don't get me wrong, Falcao is still a fantastic player but RvP is more consistent. He usually scores every game whereas Falcao sometimes doesn't even really have any good chances.

Wilshire made <10 appearances last year. Maybe <5. He missed almost the entire year. Alex Song was immense though.
Still, I kind of see your point.

Bradford and Villa.

Bradford go into the second leg away with a 3-1 advantage due to yesterdays wonderful game. And yeah, I'd rather see Bradford win it.

In other news Swansea have a 2-0 advantage going into the second leg due to a Danny Graham injury time goal.

Good job by Swansea, looks like we're getting a dream final, but it's not over yet though.
 
Looks like Swansea took a leaf out of our 2012 champions league book, defended the whole game not really showing any ambition. We played poorly though and Benitez left it far to late to bring on Ba who had more chances in the last 5 mins then Torres had the whole match.

A miracle needed to reach the final now but don't anybody write us off, you all know what we are capable of.

Ivanovic was shocking for the two goals

Yeah, Chelsea now need to score 2 goals at the Liberty stadium just to take it to extra time which is highly unlikely.

It's not highly unlikely, but hopefully Swansea takes this home and advance to the finals. :)
 
Nice assist from Ivanovic at the end though, but it looked like Graham was marginally off-side.:lol:

Falcao only seemed to gain popularity after a couple of performances in 3rd quarter-late 2012. Whereas RVP was running circles round defenders from the start of the 2011/2012 season up till now.

It's just the same bias rubbish from blatter. I lost any respect for him when he was commenting on champions league finals. "Barca-Madrid would make a great final" (Utd Chelsea) "Two teams from England distorts the level playing field in Europe". Vintage Blatter.

It is a big shame that you need to be in the top k0leagues and teams just to be noticed. Falcao has been fantastic at River Plate, Porto and Atletico Madrid but only in his later 2nd year in La Liga does he get noticed. He was absolutely phenomenal at Porto but since River Plate and Porto are small teams from small leagues he got overlooked constantly until his final move.

Others mentioned similar concerns.. I am a Real Madrid fan but Pirlo deserved to be there over Alonso and why the hell was Dani Alves even selected at all??

Sorry i disagree but Falcao has been white hot for a good 5+ seasons and getting better and better. Had he been on Atletico Madrid 5 years ago, we would be hearing about him then and not just now. Just my 2 cents. I miss Falcao more from Porto's squad than Hulk by a long shot, although I do have to say the new signing Jackson Martinez will be on everyone's radar soon enough.

As for today's Swansea win... sweet!! I don't have an EPL team but I am not a fan of Rafa Benitez so anytime he struggles is a plus for me lol

...but its only the half way point in the tie and if they start with Demba Ba in two weeks the we will have a match on our hands!
 
No doubt as to what the biggest games are this weekend..United v Liverpool and Arsenal v Man City on sunday..could have major implications on the title race!

When so called big teams can't break them down, whinge, whinge, whinge... tough!
 
I am looking forward to tomorrow's big matches. Something tells me we are in for a surprise. I am also looking forward to the QPR x Tottenham match as well.
 
United should win. I know Liverpool are still considered a big team but we really shouldn't still struggle with them. They're a mid table team in my eyes now.

Not seen much Arsenal recently. Only in a Europa league place though. Could be an upset but I'd expect City to come through at the end.

I reckon both of the Sunday games could go either way. I'm hoping United and Arsenal wins because that would mean we go 10 points clear. Also a big game for Chelsea. They have Stoke away and Stoke have the best defensive record in the Prem.

Jon Walters was in inspired form in that game against Chelsea.
 
The win against Aston Villa is an important victory today, but now Nigel Adkins needs to focus on signing a good central defender.
