To be fair... this off isn't the car's fault. Alonso simply misjudged his entry and wandered a bit too far to the left while sighting the apex.

McLaren-Redbull on top so far... de ja vu?

Oh... now I see what Alonso was pissed about... he wanted the stewards to push him back out onto the race track.

Yeah... like that's going to happen when he's that deep into the gravel at the end of such a fast straight...

They have gone backwards from last year.

The drivers are really struggling with a lack of blown diffusers this year.

I seem Kimi hasn't picked up any emotions during his time away.

But, he has a full range of emotions.

If Vettel gets pole I'm going to laugh my ass off.

I cant believe how bad this Ferrari is, and with Massa driving it, HRT might have a competitive battle!

Okay, from the tweets, Alonso managed to keep the engine from stalling, and wanted a push out onto the track. If he stays at least tenth, he could probably get to Q3... if the car gets back to the pits in time.

It may probably not.

Mercedes 1-2-(3)-(4). Either the track is getting faster and faster, or Mercedes GP has the car of the season?

Whoop. Grosjean pips Vettel.

Webber off mowing grass. Maybe there is some idea to the RBR being sensitive... and maybe they are going to be going through the Aussie GP as an upper midfield team... but I'll reserve judgment till Q3...

Alonso now 10th. Probably going to be a moot point on whether the car will make the pits before Q3.

Hulk and Ricciardo drop Alonso.

Massa 16th. I think it's fair to say Ferrari aren't sandbagging...

Maldonado did well for losing it. Maybe the Williams will be much better this year.

Q3!!

Very nice time by Maldonado, with mistakes, he seemed to go really slow after that hard left and I thought he gave up on the lap, but still got 7th.

Probably Not.

FTFY.

They look like they do no have the grip to live with McLaren and Mercedes at the minute.

DiResta also not looking so clever against the Hulk, which I think he'll be getting a fair taste of this season.

This really is going to be a year to forget for Ferrari.

Fixed...

You know you're in for a bad year when both Toro Rosso's, who sacked their previous drivers for no valid reason, are beating them twice over.

Looks like Red Bull has a good pace.

Just not as good of a pace that the Mercedes and McLarens have.

I don't think they are as fast as McLaren and Mercedes either, but I think their times will be much closer in Q3 than Q2. I guess that doesn't matter, though.

I still fear Mercedes will have bad tyre degradation on race day.

It's still very early. They can probably turn it around.
