He started on the mediums, so he has used both compounds. He could try and go to the end of the race on these, but I think that's unlikely.

Most teams think harder tyres last 40 laps. Vettel is doing 42 on softs.

BBC just spoke to a Pirelli man and he said the Red Bull would be right on the limit. He said that a good team would do about 36 laps IIRC.

Kimi did 32 laps on those tyres. Making a pit stop will lose him about 30 seconds with 22 laps to go. I get the feeling that they'll just cross their fingers and hope he can hold on to second.

It certainly did in Montreal in 2010.
 
A one-stop gamble will just have Vettel drop to the bottom of the order at the end of the race. He's got to pit one more time. Probably do it after Alonso passes him and not one second earlier.
