Jeez... look at those black clouds... it's not going to be much fun at Silverstone this evening :sick: Let's just hope the rain stays off tomorrow, otherwise it could be a long day...
 
That was certainly worth the wait! Now watch Alonso get demoted for that yellow flag incident.
 
They likely would have made a decision before starting Q3. It otherwise causes a mess since whoever was 11th didn't get a chance to qualify in q3 when they should have.

I don't think there was an issue with Alonso's lap in Q2 anyway. It wasn't his fastest sector so shows he did back off.
 
Beside all my bias towards Schui lol, I must say I am impressed with Wibba, good job. Alonso as always amazing...

They should compare the telemetry with the other cars to show how much he was pushing, Jean Todt worked at Ferrari for many years so he probably will keep the pole.
 
That was really good. If the race is even half as exciting we're in for a good afternoon.

Comparing to other cars doesn't exactly work. Some cars are stronger in certain sectors so you couldn't compare two different cars as one car pushing it could be the same time as another car backing off.

They would have more likely compared his telemetry to his previous fastest lap. His 1st and 2nd sector would have been close/better on the last lap and then 3rd sector was slower. If it was sufficiently slower then that shows he backed off.

Yes I'm sure Jean Todt determined his laptime would stand.....
 
Not a good day to be a McLaren supporter. Nevertheless, Alonso's pole lap was pretty amazing, he truly is the best driver on the grid.
 
Never heard a modern F1 grunting like that on low rpm, maybe a well tweaked engine map and heavy shortshifting made the difference. Cause the Ferrari simply "can't" be faster than the RBR.

On another note, epic fail from Button + standard fail from Hamilton. Love it.

As a Hamilton fan I admit he is the best driver on the grid and deserves the world title but I think Vettel and Hamilton are faster over one lap and are only behind him in the championship due to bad luck.

Look at his previous fast lap telemetry compare it with his faster lap and look for any noticable troughs, I don't think comparing times is an accurate way of doing things because the state of the last sector has changed.
