Then the next one does, until the entire grid change theirs and we are back to where we started.:dopey:

Ye just to stick 2 fingers up at Ferrari. :)

If they have done it on purpose whilst legal it's very, very unsporting.

I don't think anything is confirmed yet, Massa may have had a genuine problem but it seems a bit of a coincidence.

I hear crickets on Webbers RBR... Maybe the gearbox is failing too... And Raikonen wants to give Grosejan his palce back...

(joking...)

..and Luca Coliani has just admitted it. Poor form, Ferrari. Do things properly. 👎

this will be a serious and
grievous
precedent in the F1 history!👎

Legal but not right. Karma would see Alonso make a shocking start and Massa finish in front of him. I hope Vettel gets the title today, just to stick it to Ferrari.

And this done in front of the U.S. fans. You thought someone would have said, this wouldn't go down well.

I can't believe they've just come out and admitted it as well, they could have at least pretended they had a genuine problem. I mean sure people would still smell a rat but it wouldn't create a fair play backlash as much as they're going to get.

Honesty is the best policy.

Totally agree.
As much as I support Ferrari and I want Alonso to win the title, changing Massa's gearbox so that Alonso can start from the clean side of the grid is simply wrong. And I'm not so sure that even if they really do that, Alonso would reduce the gap from Vettel.

Is this for real? I can't seriously believe it.

I would be more shocked if Ferrari didn't do something like this.

This, right there, is why I'm rooting against Ferrari all the time. But, yeah, RBR doing the same with Webber's car would be hilarious right now, even though he doesn't deserve it.

It's also stupid to do it in a market you're just trying to get back into. The Americans aren't going to want to see this sort of crap.

Americans are used to this kind of stuff.

Wow, this is seriously one of the most stupid things that a top-team could do. Now I'm not so sure I will root for Alonso...

Not surprised at all. This is Scuderia Ferrari we are talking about here. From the history I've read on this team, this is not at all out of characther for them.

Why would America be against this? It's made the race more exciting, I have no issues with Ferrari doing this and I'm glad they have.

Go Alonso!

Morals. Or lack of.

If a team had a driver fighting for the championship they would do anything to help him! anything!!!

It's not exactly like starting on the dirty side of the grid is exactly an entirely make-or-break situation. But that said, the people who have moved to said side will be cheesed off.

Like Webber taking Alonso out on purpose? 💡
I sure hope that the drivers and teams don't share that opinion of yours.

Funny.

Yeah, but this is simply cheap. Massa would have surely let Alonso pass during the race. This just doesn't make any sense.

Yes but most teams stick to the sporting code, Ferrari clearly do not.

What is there to explain? You ended your post with 'Go Alonso' so of course you have no issue with their lack of sporting credentials. Neutrals on the other hand can see it for what is it, extremely unsporting and an exploitation of the rules. Whether it makes the race more exciting is irrelevant, Ferrari have not done it for excitement.

Not to defend this gross or diselegant act as that, but isn't RBR been bending the rules and or the gray zones and getting their changes outlawed after the fact with no penaties? This move is (much more) legal and it's not sneaky or dubious. Admiting it is Ferrari being as fair as it can be.

It's a loop hole in the rules, deal with it.

That said, been against these gearbox penaties since the start. Maybe they'll get rid of this nonsense next year.

Well, they don't even stick to a sporting code when it comes to their road cars competing with others. I sure as hell never expected the Scuderia Ferrari to consist of good sports.

The more I think about it, the more I wish that something goes wrong with Alonso's car. I would be laughing my butt off if his gearbox broke.

So why are Ferrari the bad guys?

How is this different to RedBull taking there new front from Webber and giving it to Seb after his got damaged?

They did that to benefit Seb, Ferrari have done this to benefit Fernando. Neither is against the rules so but Ferrari are the unsporting ones?

100% agree!^^
