My dad predicted the race for tomorrow; Seb gets a good start, Webber keeps Hamilton behind him to let Seb get a gap and than lead the race from lights to flag. The only thing that can make the race exciting is if Webber has another bad start. I couldn't agree with him more.

You did come across more of a fanboy than a fan. You're more satisfied by the failure of others than the success of Vettel. Not very sporting.

I will let you know I have been supporting Seb ever since he was in Formula BMW.
When he was in Torro Rosso I would say to myself... The day he will get a good (I wasn't expecting the best) car, this guy could beat Schumacher's records

Wow, its started early this grand prix weekend. I haven't got my popcorn ready, I was saving it for the chequered flag tomorrow :grumpy: ice cream shall suffice.

But anyways does anyone know why Rosberg didn't bother setting a lap in Q3? He was looking pretty quick in the previous sessions, he could have got himself up there. Weird.

He'd done over 20 laps in the previous two sessions, probably needed to save tyres.

I'm not so sure that the gap is as big to the McLaren's as some think, sure I'm still expecting a Vettel win, but there's a long way to go.

It's looked pretty enormous to me. Odd to step back and think about how short of a span a quarter of a second is, but in the world of F1 it's huge. They told Lewis in practice that his heavy fuel run was fast, so I suppose maybe there is hope to be found in that.

Please do remind me... did Vettel win his first race (Monza 2008) with the best car? :rolleyes: I think it was more like the 7th best car at the time... :sly:
And let's not forget that in his 1st season he finished 4th in China :)

If you were a real Vettel fan you would've known that the STR back then was just as good or even slightly better than the Red Bull, it was not a mid-field car.

Vettel is quite the luck finger. He's a good driver but not supreme as made out to be by some.

The car was nowhere near as good as the McLaren, Ferrari or BMW. It was arguably worse than the Renault and Toyota too. So that's five teams that had a better car. A mid fielder it was.

Oh, I'll probably watch it, but if something happens to prevent me from seeing it, or if something else is on that captures my attention, then I won't be uphappy at missing the race.
 
Good morning! In the end i dragged myself out of bed, hoping to see the gremlins eat away at the RBR's today (who knows; tyre blowout, first corner incident, alternator failure, unexpected meteor strike...).
 
Today's race. I expected either of the RBR to win or a Mclaren. Alonso on podium if things goes well.

First time ive posted on this thread this weekend...looking forward to a decent race..Vettel is an obvious favourite, but the two Mclaren look good as well and Alonso can threaten if he gets a good start and makes up 2/3 places

Hamilton wants Alonso to win the championship, worth a risky move up the inside of Vettel and take him out?....


Anyway, hoping for a SV DNF and big points for FA

So something interesting happened in qualifying...none of the drivers have been moved back places because of gearbox/engine changes..is that the first time thats happened this season??

Oh, you were talking specifically about that one race rather than the season? Well then you should know that the ferrari's and mclaren's left it too late in qualifying. Still, it should not detract from his achievement.

Romain didnt do it on purpose, stop with that.

You could have said like Frijns did yeah then I would have agree. But no Frijns is good even if he pushed his rival in the sand, Senna is a god because he hammered Prost in Suzuka but Romain is the worst driver of the field because he didnt had much luck in the start. That totaly make sense.

By the way; there's a riot going on on Spanish TV here, because Vettel put his four wheels next to the track (on the curbstone), in Qualifying which following the rules invalidates the lap...

But the Red Bull that year was a midfield car. So being slightly better or equal to it makes it midfield, no? :dunce:

They showed the lap on sky and they said that the FIA thought it was fine.
