Well we all know that Corvette knows that, but this is different then Le Mans. I also agree the GT2 races are quite exciting.

I love this and Le Mans but Le Mans is more a battle of cars whereas this is more about teams since the cars are all so similar performance wise.
On a side note the commentators must be quite tired (understatement obviously) to be talking about race ending moment at this point. I never liked when a commentator started talking ill or jinx like speaking, because when things go wrong I always blame that commentator(s).

They were swapping the commentators after a few hours at the start of the race, I don't know if these ones have done a load of hours in the night stint.

Yeah they've been the same guys for at least 5 hours.

Damn 99 car off.

Now full course caution, too bad the #5 isn't on the same lap as the 8 to actually benefit.

I thought the commentator said they get a free pass under caution (it was yesterday I might've heard wrong), that might just be if the leader pits though.

I think it runs like the Nascar caution system. Under the caution cars can get a free pass and what not.

That kind of sucks, I can understand it in NASCAR but its not great for endurance races, it should be who is best for 24 hours who wins not who is best for the final hour.

This is why the awesome skills of Mcnish will win it in the last few laps if the car is close enough to the front.

Grand-Am is NASCAR.

And they have put 75,000 paying spectators into the infield and attracted a stellar field in this time of economic woes. I never thought I'd say this, but NASCAR commands respect for its racing acumen. Even F1 could benefit from studying the ways NASCAR does it.

Respectfully submitted,
Steve

I know NASCAR own it but I meant the actual type of racing, I should've said stock cars :) Stock car races is more about the spectacle and having more cars in play at the end, in endurance racing I think the winner should be strongest over 24 hours without being given any charity.

Watching the Speed TV Stream on their site. The Mazdas sound gooood!:)

They're horrible! The V8 DPs however...

Just got the stream back on and McNish's car is 2 laps down, don't know what happened... (Edit: He went straight on at the chicane and is damaged.)

Ganassi 01 is still sitting in 2nd :)

Has there been ANY cautions during the SPEED blackout? I'm starting to think that the commercial conspiracy theories are true. :nervous:

Aw yes, that great feeling of waking up and your car is in 1st :)

I'm back. I want to see McNish win. The 63 458 is in 5th!

Mr.Tim-Tim

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I want a caution!
