Terrible race for Red Bull. :( Just terrible.

Driver of the day: Sebastian Vettel.

You must be joking.

Vettel drove an average race, but there wasn't much he could do surrounded by cars faster than him in a straight line.

Considering what he was given. It could have been a podium today.

The only other time you see a crowd like that is the podium at Le Mans, spectacular.

Alonso milking the moment!

That was the last European Grand Prix of 2012.

Vettel was handicapped by the car. The fact that he had a chance at staying fourth or fifth before the car crapped out dhows that he was doing a good job. Without the drive-through, he might have had an outside shot at the podium.

He couldn't catch Button, Massa or Hamilton. Alonso had passed him and never looked back. Perez with that late charge. If he didn't retire, the best he could have hoped for was 5th.

It was funny when Alonso grabbed the mic and started talking in italian, Niki Lauda yelled "No!"...

See what, I really dont understand?

His lack of emotions when he 1st got out the car? Is that really 'obvious signs'?

Along with everything else that's been discussed about his future with the team, yes.

Driver of the day: Sebastian Vettel.

There are at least three drivers who drove a far better race today; Hamilton, Alonso and Perez.

Hamilton came back from his crash last weekend and was in complete control the entire race.

Alonso driving both aggressive laptimes, while managing his tires at the same time to gain a massive 7 positions and score a lot of vital points for his championship lead.

Perez, well what more can you say? Seeing how strong the Sauber was, he completely overshadowed his team mate's disappointing performance and went on to strand at less than 5 seconds from the victory after starting 12th. That Ferrari seat may be awfully close within his grasp at this point. These flashes of speed really put Kobayashi in a bad light.

Drive-through penalty for Vettel completely justified. There was enough room for Alonso to pass at that speed, and then Vettel closed the door and threw him off-track. I bet you 50 donuts he perfectly knew Alonso was there as well.

Next up. Hamilton-McLaren relations take a turn for the worse. Lewis only hugs a half dozen people after winning a race he knew he was going to win. And he waved on his parade lap with only ONE hand. Disaster.

What can I say? I just think there's some friction there.

Great race from Perez. Could have won it if there were a few more laps.

He will win the Championship at some point.

To be fair, the Red Bull was much worse than all those three cars today.

I'd give Vettel the nod if he didn't merit the drive through. Forget whether he got it or not. The fact that he almost pushed Alonso into retirement was a big turn-off.

What a fantastic race.

Very happy with Di Resta's performance. :)

Everything worked out for Alonso in the end. :D

Great drive by Perez. Hamilton controlled the race. Good weekend for Massa. A day to forget for Red Bull. I think they'll bounce back at Singapore.

Alonso pushed Vettel off the track last year, but he left slightly more room than Vettel did this year. Could've ended up as a retirement, as well.

EDIT: Yes, I know they changed the rules for this year, but still. I'm surprised Alonso even put himself in that situation. He should've seen that the gap was closing. Vettel is less experienced and usually takes a bigger risk, so that's probably why he put himself in that situation last year.
