I have to say that was an amazing drive by Vettel I don't like to see cake walks, but when they are just obvious sheer speed (great car too), you can't ignore it.

Race went over 3 minutes

Oh wow.

Been a while since this has happened. :D

Feel bad for Webber. His cars always break, and Vettel's works flawlessly.

TV channel just cut the transmission, they always do that when the 2 hour mark is reached

Pretty much this. Much as I would love to see someone actually take the fight to him, seeing 61 straight qualifying laps out of him is definitely a spectacle on its own.

The race went 1:59:13, just a hair under. The formation lap starts at the top of the hour, not the race itself.

I know, I forgot to adjust my math, thanks.

Glad they kept the camera on in the podium room, and the Dutch commentators didnt speak over it.

Seb asked about Mark, and Horner said he had water pressure problems from 6 laps to go. Then the camera cut away to follow Alonso in.

Crazy how fast Red Bull and Sebastian were, practice indicated they would be fast but to see him pull away like he was driving in a different formula was amazing to see.

Nice camaraderie from Blondie there, offering to help Mark back to the pits...

Crowd excellent as usual! Winnings in pocket as well!

No one can ever say anything about how freaking fast the freaking Red Bull and Vettel was going today. Great performance by Kimi as I certainly didn't expect him to be up there, especially starting from 13th and with a bad back. Gutted for Rosberg. I really thought he would be up there on the podium..

My 6 year old sister just woke up and ran to the living room to watch the repetition of the race

Apparently the number of times Webber's car failed him is only one more than Seb's car.

I think you need to start looking back at past races. Vettel's had his share of unreliability.

In the last three seasons, Blondie has only retired THREE times. Webber FIVE, not counting other non-race-ending failures included. Equal? Right...

So, in nearly 60 races, two less retirements is a conspiracy?:dunce:

Had his share does not mean exactly the same number. 3 and 5 retirements over 3 years is damn good, and I'm sure Webber would be the first to say that it is equal enough.
Get your tin foil hat off.

If Webber has a race without his KERS failing and without a dreadful start it comes as a surprise, he's not that far behind the other chasers in the championship considering his luck and form. Says a lot about the car. Credit where credits due though, Vettel is doing the job he needs to.

I'm only pointing out that the statement is incorrect, not arguing any particular points. :sly:

If I were to begin a post on my view on this argument I would be looking at both qualifying and race results together before concluding with a verdict...:sly:

What a race by the way! I haven't been that excited since Interlagos 2012.

Pretty convinced Vettel has superpowers now...

I keep going back to Monaco in my mind, replaying this radio transmission:

He is one seriously motivated individual. 👍

Very, very unfortunate for Webber though. Perhaps the team decided they would give him an early start on preparing for Le Mans by making him deal with parts issues? :dopey: Honestly though, could it just be they didn't take care of the car? Could it be they've been gambling a bit and pushing the car beyond its mechanical limits? Nothing really adds up right now, but I'm not ready think they are sabotaging Webber in any way.

Was surprised by Nico showing weakness. For a driver that won Monaco, and does triathlons for fun, I figured he would be right at home here. I was also surprised Lewis never got past Nico. It seemed like he had more fight in him, and since he is higher up in points, it seemed like we would see some team orders come in to play.

As for Kimi, man, what a warrior! Worked his way from the pits of hell and showed Ferrari they will not be disappointed. He said his back was better today, but still not 100%, so I'd say hes the man of the race.

Anyway, this Vettel bashing is beyond stupid. Today was as dominant performance from a driver then I have seen for a long time. If it wasn't for the SC he would have lapped almost everyone upto the podium. It's easy to say he has the fastest car, that he gets the best parts, all the luck, etc. It's up to the rest of them to catch upto the Red bull/Vettel combination, not for them to ease up.

I'm glad team orders didn't come into play at Merc GP and I doubt they will unless there was a real fight for the championship. Glad they both tried hard but too bad it wasn't enough.

^This as I said earlier there is having the fastest car, and then having the fastest car and driving it flawlessly. This race should be more about Vettel being amazingly fast more so than the car being fast.
